Rt. Hon. Ahmed Muhammed (Akpa 1 Constituency) was impeached during an emergency session held at the State Assembly complex in Lokoja, according to reports.
He was charged with gross misconduct and arbitrary use of office, along with three other principal officers.
Hon. Enema Paul, member representing the (Dekina/Okura) State Constituency, read a motion of urgent importance in which he said 17 lawmakers signed the impeachment of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed and the suspension of three other principal officers in the house.
Bello Hassan Balogun (Majority Leader), Idris Ndako (Deputy Majority Leader), and Hon. Edoko Moses Ododo are the three main leaders (Chief Whip).
Police, DSS, and NSCDC officers surrounded the Assembly complex, which was heavily guarded.
