On Tuesday, Mr. Badung David Dele, age 40, was found guilty of murdering Nanchin Zacharias, his girlfriend, by the Plateau State High Court, which is located in Jos.
On February 15, 2016, the decedent passed away.
For strangling Miss Zacharias of Angwan Nasarawa Gwom of Jos North Local Government Area, Mr. Dele was found guilty by High Court No. 11 Judge Christy L. Dabup.
In accordance with section 221 of the Northern Nigerian Penal Code, Mr. Dele was found responsible for culpable homicide.
The defendant was taken into custody by the Jos-based Nasarawa Gwom Divisional Police Headquarters after entering a guilty plea earlier.
The presiding Judge stated that the court relied on three issues in reaching its decision, including the accused person’s self-confessional statement, an eyewitness account, and circumstantial evidence from the witnesses.
