The bodies of fifteen passengers on a 16-passenger boat that capsized on July 8 in the Ojo area of Lagos State have been discovered.
Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, General Manager of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), confirmed that 11 bodies were recovered on Sunday, in addition to four recovered on Saturday.
LASWA, the National Inland Waterways, Nigerian Marine Police, and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency are still looking for the only remaining body, according to Emmanuel.
The full-capacity boat was on its way to Ibeshe in the Ojo area when tragedy struck.
The tide drifted the boat to a stationary barge, causing it to overturn.
