In the election of 2023, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has characterised the race for governor of Kaduna state as a do-or-die contest.
When speaking to Coalition of Southern Kaduna Young Persons members who were honouring Isa Ashiru, the party’s flagbearer for the governorship, during Sallah, State Secretary Alhaji Ibrahim Wosono made this statement.
Because I was detained and assaulted for defending our votes in the previous election, we are prepared and determined to defend our votes. Therefore, the election is a life-or-death situation for me,” he said.
The PDP’s flagbearer also asserted that, despite all obstacles, the party must triumph in the state’s upcoming elections if it is to save the state from bad governance.
Ashiru promised the residents of Southern Kaduna that, if elected, he would lead an inclusive state government.
