The Delta State Police Command has foiled a planned kidnapping operation in Upper Agbarho, recovering one FNC rifle loaded with one round of live ammunition and one pump-action gun with 32 rounds of live cartridges.

Investigator news reports that Operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), led by ASP Julius Robinson, on Sunday 11, January 2026,collaborated with community vigilantes to cordon off the suspects’ hideout in an uncompleted building.
The Force PRO,SP Bright Edafe stated that the suspects upon sighting the police operatives,opened fire.

However, the operatives responded with superior firepower, forcing the hoodlums to flee the scene with varying degrees of injuries, abandoning their arms and other items.
He noted that exhibits recovered include: One (1) FNC rifle loaded with one (1) round of live ammunition, One (1) pump-action gun with thirty-two (32) rounds of live cartridges.
According to him,all exhibits have been recovered and taken into custody.”A manhunt has since been launched to apprehend the fleeing suspects”,he said

Commenting on the development,the Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, commended the operatives for their bravery and effective use of intelligence,reiterating that the Command remains resolute in denying criminal elements the space to operate and warning that Delta State will continue to be hostile to all forms of criminality.
