The motivations behind the acts of two Kwara State Polytechnic female students who were detained in relation to the purported murder of Adeniyi Ojo have been revealed.

One of the suspects, Adanma Joseph, told reporters what happened between them and the deceased on Wednesday during their parade by Force Public Relations officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in Abuja.

She claims they tried to rob the deceased, who said he wanted to have sex with her and her friend Favour Vandora Davies.

Speaking about how they first connected, Adanma said that she worked for the deceased in his clubhouse for roughly three months in 2022 before the clubhouse was shut down by the government.

When the deceased asked to have sex with her, the suspect claimed that she enlisted her friend in the attempt to steal from him.

As per her statement, the original plan was to entice him to engage in sexual activity with them in his vehicle, with the hope of discovering cash inside.

But she added that they eventually found themselves in a room where they tied the dead while feigning to have a BDSM s€x, and that when the dead tried to scream, they covered his mouth with a pillow.

She said that when they left with his phone, they had no idea that the man had passed away and had only been acting like he was asleep.

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has issued an order that the 24-hour curfew that had previously been placed on the two communities of Ifon and Ilobu because of their conflict reduce to 12 hours.

The state administration is said to have noticed a situation of near absolute calm and harmony amongst both communities in the aftermath of the recent communal confrontations. As a result, the state government has issued the decision.

According to a statement that was released on Tuesday and signed by Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, the most recent order issued by the governor was based on the peace accord that was signed on Saturday by the communities that are located in the Orolu and Irepodun local government areas.

The accord encouraged both groups to put their differences behind them and work toward establishing a long-term peace.

The following is an excerpt from the statement: “Governor Adeleke, however, maintains and re-emphasizes his earlier directive of taking complete possession by his administration of the disputed lands until the impasse is finally seen to have been amicably brought to an end by the natives.”

“Therefore, the formerly 24-hour curfew, which was in effect from nightfall until morning, has now been instructed by the governor to be in effect between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm every day.

“The administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke is delighted to report that the two communities are progressively embracing the need to promote peace and harmony. This is based on the recent peace pact signed by the Ifon and Ilobu communities of Orolu and Irepodun local governments, respectively.

“Premised on this, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, in his role as the Chief Security Officer of the state, has eased the 24-hour curfew to 12 hours everyday, commencing at 6 am and ending at 6 pm with immediate alacrity. This is in his capacity as the Chief Security Officer of the state.

In addition, Governor Adeleke issued an order to the joint security task force, which is comprised of the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, and other security agencies, instructing them to maintain their customary 24-hour surveillance of the communities of Ifon, Ilobu, and Olokanla.

The governor went on to issue the following warning: “Anyone or group of persons found or caught doing or instigating any act, knowingly or unknowingly, to mortgage the lasting peace that is currently being envisioned in the warring communities would be made to face the music, via necessary prosecution, in line with the dictate of the law of Nigeria.” – #FromTheCradle #News

The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has verified the invasion of a community in the state’s Keffi Local Government Area by gunmen, during which four students from the state’s university were kidnapped and taken to an unknown destination.

Confirming the incident, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, stated that the pupils were abducted in the early hours of Tuesday near Angwan Ka’are in the LGA.

He did, however, say that the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, has ordered a manhunt for the perpetrators in order to rescue the victims unharmed.

“The command is aware of the kidnapping at about 12:55 am as a distress call was received that a house located at Angwan Kaare in Keffi was invaded by unidentified armed men.””The Commissioner of Police has ordered a manhunt for the culprits with the goal of rescuing the four victims unharmed.”

Meanwhile, our correspondent’s findings revealed the names of the kidnapped students: Rahila Hanya, a 100-level student in the Science Laboratory Technology department; Josephine Gershon, a 100-level student in Computer Science; Rosemary Samuel, a 100-level student in Business Administration; and Goodness Samuel, a 100-level student in Geography.
When approached about the event, the university’s Information and Protocol Officer, Comrade Abraham Ekpo, told our correspondent that no official information had been lodged with the institution.

The Katsina State Police Command reports that in the most recent four months, from the first of June to the thirty-first of September, 2023, it has detained a total of 1005 people in connection with 853 criminal cases that have been recorded.

According to the Command, 395 of the 1005 cases are now being prosecuted in various Katsina State courts that are competent in their respective fields.

The Command also stated that during the same time period, it was successful in rescuing 171 people who had been abducted, neutralizing five people who were suspected of kidnapping, and recovering a considerable number of weaponry. These weapons included four AK-47 rifles, six locally produced firearms, and 517 live rounds of ammunition.

During a press conference that took place on Monday at the Katsina State Police Command Headquarters, the information in question was released by Assistant Superintendent of Police Abubakar Sadiq, who serves as the Public Relations Officer (PPRO). ASP Sadiq stated that out of the 1005 suspects, 53 were arrested for robbery, 82 were arrested for abduction, 73 were arrested for murder, and 90 were arrested for rape. The remaining 707 suspects were detained for a variety of offenses, including possession of illicit narcotics, cultism, inciting unrest, and actions associated to gangs.

A considerable number of stolen motor cars and motorbikes were also recovered by the Katsina Police Command during the time period under consideration, according to the Public Relations Officer for the Katsina Police, who released this information.

Yahaya Ododo, a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ankpa Local Government Area, has resigned his party membership and joined the Action Alliance, saying his decision was based on the need to enshrine equity, fairness, and justice in Kogi state’s governorship history.

In advance of the gubernatorial elections scheduled for November 11 in the states of Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has voiced alarm over the increasing number of incidences of insecurity.

Sam Olumekun, the chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee and INEC National Commissioner, urged political parties and their candidates to refrain from saying or doing anything that might inflame tensions in the political sphere.

He stated, “The commission is concerned about the wave of violence and insecurity, including fights between candidates and supporters of political parties in the upcoming elections.”

In order to ensure that elections are held peacefully in the three states, the commission urged all political parties and candidates to refrain from saying or doing anything that could inflame the political climate. Clement Chukwuemeka, 67, is a suspected drug trafficker who was detained by NDRLA agents at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after he consumed 100 wraps of cocaine.

According to the suspect, who spent thirty years of his life in Brazil, Ethiopia, and Thailand, he turned to the illegal enterprise to earn enough money to marry a new wife and begin a new chapter in his life.

This was revealed in a statement provided to journalists on Sunday by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi.

Chukwuemeka was detained on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, during the inbound passenger clearance of Ethiopian Airlines flight 951 from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, according to Babafemi. He was then taken for a body scan, which found several pellets in his stomach.

“Over the course of being observed, he passed four excretions totaling 100 wraps of cocaine weighing 2.195 kg.

“According to his statement, he was previously married but lost his spouse and had no children. He claimed to have lived for thirty years in Brazil, Ethiopia, and Thailand. He went on to say that’s why he made the decision to turn to drug trafficking in order to get enough cash to get married to a new woman and start over.
Additionally, on October 2, 2023, at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, Babafemi stated, that agents stopped 45-year-old Bilkisu Bello as she prepared to board a Saudia Airlines trip to Saudi Arabia.

During the questioning, she admitted that a residence in Kano’s Farawa neighborhood contained cocaine pellets that she had been instructed to swallow before to her trip. 52 wraps weighing 767 grams total of the illegal material were found when she led NDLEA agents to the residence.

“In the meantime, on Tuesday, October 3, NDLEA agents, backed by officers and soldiers from the Nigerian Army, Civil Defense Corps, and Amotekun staff, stormed James town in Ogunmakin, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, where they discovered and destroyed 10.38 tonnes of cannabis sativa covering over 4.152 hectares,” the anti-drug agency spokesperson continued.

Additionally, it was reported that while returning from the operation, NDLEA agents stopped a truck with the license plate FS548XN that was transporting a 40-foot container filled with wood logs.

Following a search of the truck, six individuals were taken into custody: Ahmed Yusuf, Olaniyi Babatunde, Adedeji Babatunde, Richard John, Osolale Olamilekan, and Abdulazeez Saied. Two bags of 20 kg cannabis sativa were found inside the container. – #Metro
