    A Philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Ubah (Otunba Ojoto), Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos,Otta Awori Chapter has once again put smiles on the faces of widows across Lagos State through his Chief Emmanuel Ubah foundation.

    The program which impacted Widows across 20 local government of the state,was held on Wednesday 8, October 2025,at the Secretariat of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Surulere Lagos.

    The event which coincide with the general meeting of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State was attended by Chairmen of the 57 local government, women leaders and youth leaders including the President General Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State,High Chief Solomon Aguene and Eze Ndigbo of Ibeju Lekki LCDA,Eze Ambassador Peter Asonye.

    Investigator news reports that each of the beneficiaries received financial assistance so as to assist them in their businesses.

    One of the beneficiaries who spoke with investigator news,Mrs Faith Okonkwo expressed gratitude to God almighty for opportunity to receive the money, while thanking Chief Ubah for the support, praying that God will continually increase him in all his endeavors.

    Another beneficiary from Otta Awori Chapter,Mrs Gold Chioma Benson was full of joy stating that the said amount will go a long way as she will use it to put into her business.

    In his remark, Chief Emmanuel Ubah who is vying for the office of the President General Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos come next year expressed joy in being able to positively impact lives and urged those who are wealthy to always support those around them for betterment of the society.

    ” I give God glory for granting me the grace to help the needy and widows in the society. It gives me pleasure to see widows being assisted. I know that God is using me in my own little way to assist them ”

    ” This has always been part of me,as I have a covenant with God almighty that if he blesses me,I will always assist the needy and widows every month,which I have never failed in my capacity,God has been helping me to achieve this “he stated.

    Highlight of the event was presentation of cash award to Widows,prayers were offered by the women to Chief Emmanuel Ubah.

    It will be recalled that Chief Ubah has impacted so many lives, assisted the less privileged,empower women in various skills and offers scholarship to so many indigent children in Otta Awori and beyond.

    The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/ Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Seyi Jakande, has described the death of his close friend and ally,Alhaji Waheed Shonibare,CEO of Twice as Nice clothing as a great shock, noting that his counsel and friendship would greatly be missed.

    In an emotional message released by his Media handlers,Jakande described Alhaji Waheed as a man of integrity, compassion,a trusted partner,stating that his contributions to business and civic life enriched many,and his warmth and generosity touched countless lives.

    He went further to state that throughout his life, he demonstrated remarkable leadership, a commitment to community upliftment, and an unwavering belief in opportunity for others.

    “It is with profound sadness that I mourn the passing of my dear friend and close ally, Alhaji Waheed Shonibare, CEO of Twice as Nice.”

    “Alhaji Waheed was a man of integrity, compassion, and tireless service — a trusted partner in public and private life whose counsel and friendship I valued deeply.”

    “Throughout his life, he demonstrated remarkable leadership, a commitment to community upliftment, and an unwavering belief in opportunity for others.”

    Investigator news reports that the late Shonibare’s remarkable impact on Nigeria’s fashion industry as the CEO of the luxury clothing brand Twice as Nice, known for its premium formal and casual shirts that can compete with international brands such as TM Lewin, Tom & Keith, and others. With outlets across Nigeria and diasporas.

    He died on Tuesday 7, October 2025.

    The Executive Chairman of Òdì‑Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Seyi Jakande, has welcomed newly recruited civil servants to the council, urging them to uphold integrity, professionalism, and dedication in their service.

    During the induction ceremony, Jakande emphasized the importance of understanding public service administration and adhering to the Lagos State Code of Conduct.

    He charged the new staff to adopt a proactive mindset, pursue excellence in service delivery, and promote teamwork to benefit their departments and the wider community.

    The LCDA Chairman expressed confidence in the new staff’s potential to contribute to the council’s development and wished them success in their new roles.

    He also addressed the issue of proximity to work, offering assistance to staff who live far from the council offices, including help with securing accommodation or transfer to enhance productivity.

    Over 50 women benefited from a free cervical cancer screening exercise organized by Hon Okey Joe Onuakulusi Foundation in partnership with My Body My Asset Foundation in Ejigbo, Lagos.

    The free screening which held at Ejigbo Lagos was to mark October’s Cancer Awareness Month activities,2025,aimed to promote awareness and early detection of cervical cancer.

    The Founder/President My Body My Asset Foundation Ambassador Mrs. Franca Eze, said the partnership was to mark 5th anniversary of her non-governmental organisations (NGO) as it is committed in raising awareness about cervical cancer in the past five years.

     

    She said the major cause of cervical cancer in women is a persistent infection with high-risk types of the human papillomavirus (HPV).

    As HPV is common and often clears on its own, a long-lasting infection with certain high-risk strains can cause abnormal cell changes on the cervix, which can eventually develop into cancer if not treated.

    She said this is the reason why the foundation decided to carry out the cervical cancer screening in order to educate women about the causes cervical cancer.

    She applauded the lawmaker for partnering with her organization in ensuring that women in his constituency gets free screening on cervical cancer.

    ” Let me use this occasion to appreciate Hon Okey Joe Onuakulusi, member representing Oshodi-Isolo 2 at the federal house of representatives for taking this bold step as this is the first time a man would partner with us to organize a free cervical cancer screening for women,it is laudable and he must be commended.”she said

    The Programme Director HOJ Foundation Mrs. Uchenna Offormata, said her organisation went into the partnership because many women do not know their status when it comes to cervical cancer.

    She explained the free cervical cancer screening aimed at reducing number of women who come down with cervical cancer in the society through awareness creation.

    “Today’s event is to create an awareness and generally this month of October is “Cancer awareness ” and we all know the rate at which people die of cancer,so the Hon Okey Joe foundation thought it wise to partner with the NGO to bring to the people of Oshodi-Isolo 2 federal constituency so that a lot of women who don’t know their status can benefit from this initiative”

    Mrs Offormata went further to emphasize the importance of women checking their health status,as early detection of cervical cancer saves lives.

    She highlighted some of the achievements already recorded by the Hon Okey Joe Onuakulusi Foundation,who she said has empowered so many youths,men and women especially the women through various empowerment program.

    Speaking with newsmen,Hon Okey Joe Onuakulusi, member representing Oshodi-Isolo 2 who was ably represented by the Labour party local government chairman for Oshodi-Isolo 2 federal constituency,Hon Bishop Remigius Agu urge the women to always take care of their health as Cancer is a deadly and dangerous disease that need urgent.

    Hon Onuakulusi opined that checking of their health status regularly would detect cervical cancer early, therefore he appealed to the women to always care for their body so as to have healthy living.

    Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with newsmen thanked Hon Okey Joe for bringing the initiative to the constituency as it will give the women ample opportunity of checking their health status.

    Mrs Gbaka Juliet urge the women to always visit the hospital whenever they have unusual pain in any part of their body especially their cervical part.

    Lending her voice,Mrs Ifeyinwa Nwoha appeal to women not to allow some issues relating to health affect them before consulting a doctor,she acknowledge Hon Okey Joe for affecting the lives of the women positively

    The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA,Hon Seyi Jakande has joined other Council Chairmen across Lagos State for a two‑day retreat,themed “Navigating  The Future of A Dynamic Local Government Service.”organized by the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission.

    He expressed his commitment to enhance service delivery and drive development in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA aligning with his HEWA Agenda.

    The event, held at Novatel Hotel, Chevron, Lekki, from October 2-4, focused on inter-council collaboration, improved governance, and sustainable development.

    Jakande described the retreat as a valuable opportunity to share insights and best practices, pledging to apply the lessons learned to enhance service delivery and promote sustainable local development under his HEWA Agenda.

    Speaking at the LCDA’s APC general meeting on Thursday October 2 2025,Jakande emphasized the importance of unity and active participation in the party’s activities.

    He highlighted various initiatives and projects undertaken by his administration, reaffirming his commitment to enhancing the well-being of the community.

    “We are here to work together,” he emphasized, underscoring the importance of unity and active participation in the party’s activities.

    Hon. Seyi Jakande, Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, celebrated Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary by engaging in meaningful community service.

    Investigator news reports that Hon Jakande attended the Toba Ajiboye Foundation’s children’s empowerment celebration, where he distributed school supplies, toys, and essential items to encourage education and community empowerment.

    The event organized by Mr. Toba Ajiboye, State Organising Secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW),marks the beginning of a series of activities scheduled for October 1 which brought together parents, children, and community leaders to celebrate and inspire future leaders.

    Hon Jakande was joined by council legislators, including Hon. Haruna Adeosun, Hon. Ipaye Ibrahim, Hon. Lookman Akinniyi, and Hon. Taye Shodipe Alakan.

    Investigator news also gathered the Chairman attended the annual Independence celebration at Ori Pako Base, strengthening ties with community leaders, and participated in the 2025 football championship competition at the Sanwo-Olu Sport Arena, promoting community spirit and pride.
