    The Impactful Futures Initiative (IFI), a non-governmental organization, has urged residents of Ilasamaja in Lagos State to prioritize environmental cleanliness to prevent disease outbreaks.

    This call was made during a sensitization program held on September 20, 2025, to commemorate World Cleanup Day.

    Speaking at the sensitization program,the founder of IFI, Comrade Sikiru Akibu (Zinko), encouraged residents to develop a habit of regularly cleaning their surroundings, highlighting the global theme of Textile and Fashion Waste.

    Investigator news reports that the advocacy featured a clean-up exercise along several streets, including Aladesanyin, Ifelodun, and Baale, where participants picked litter, filled potholes, and raised awareness on converting waste to cash.

    Acknowledging the efforts of the NGO,the Baale of Ilasamaja Kingdom, Alhaji High Chief Fatai Aberejo, praised the initiative, noting that a dirty environment promotes the spread of diseases like diarrhea, malaria, typhoid, and cholera,the latter of which recently affected parts of Lagos.

    Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, has urged the community to join forces with his administration to harness the potential of tourism for sustainable transformation.

    In his World Tourism Day message, themed “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” Aare Taiwo emphasized the importance of tourism as a strategic tool for development.

    He outlined plans to promote trade fairs, business exhibitions, and talent discovery hubs to project Ejigbo’s potential, empower youths, and strengthen local businesses.

    “As the world marks World Tourism Day with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”, I see a renewed call for us to position Ejigbo as a community of opportunity, enterprise, and growth.

    “Tourism is more than a celebration of culture; it is a strategic tool for development. That is why our administration will promote initiatives such as trade fairs, business exhibitions, and hubs for talent discovery—platforms that will project Ejigbo’s potential, empower our youths, and strengthen local businesses.

    “These initiatives are not events for show; they are deliberate steps to transform our economy, attract investment, and create jobs”.

    The Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Aare Tahoeed Adebayo Taiwo,has warmly celebrated Professor Jelili Atiku,Chairman Community Development Committee on his birthday.

    In a heartfelt tribute released by his Media handlers,Aare Taiwo acknowledged his exceptional leadership and transformative impact in Ejigbo LCDA.

    According to him, Professor Jelili’s visionary approach to community development and his dedication to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Ejigbo have been instrumental in the LCDA’s continued growth and progress.

    He noted that his reputation, both locally and internationally, is a testament to his tireless efforts to improve the lives of the people.

    It was all smiles all the way as the Councilor representing Aigbaka ward in Ejigbo LCDA,Hon Idowu Taiwo organized a thank you party for members of the ward.

    The event which was held on Friday, September 26, 2025 during the general meeting of the ward was filled with joyous moments as members appreciated the councillor’s generosity.

    Investigator news reports that this was indeed a significant because it was the first ward meeting gathering following his election

    Hon. Idowu Taiwo who is the Deputy leader in Ejigbo legislative chamber marked his first ward meeting since his election with a gesture of appreciation, distributing mini gas cylinders and recharge vouchers to Aigbaka Ward members.

    The beneficiaries include Mr. Olawale Fashola, Mr. Babatunde, Mrs. Omoyemi Olaiya, and Master Jamiu Otegbola, representing different segments of the ward who won various prizes in a lucky dip process.

    Hon.Idowu Taiwo reaffirmed his commitment to serving the community and promised to advocate for the ward’s interests in legislative affairs.

    He thanked the ward leaders,elders, women and youths for their support and expressed gratitude to the Council Chairman,Aare Tahoeed Adebayo Taiwo for his vision for progress in Ejigbo.

    The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has partnered with the Ikeja Local Government to train civil servants on data protection and privacy compliance.

    The initiative, which will pilot in Lagos State, aims to promote responsible data handling, transparency, and digital governance.

    During a visit to Ikeja House, NDPC’s National Commissioner/CEO, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, disclosed the Commission’s plans to collaborate with the local government to build capacity and promote data privacy awareness.

    He explained that the training is part of the Federal Government’s drive to entrench a culture of responsible data handling, ensure transparency, and align public service operations with global best practices in digital governance.

    Dr. Olatunji commended Hon AKOD for his forward-thinking leadership and his commitment to strengthening institutions at the local level.

    He stressed that data protection is a critical enabler of trust, economic growth, and innovation, and expressed optimism that the partnership with Ikeja Local Government will serve as a model for other councils across Nigeria.

    In his response,the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), welcomed the initiative and pledged to support the NDPC by making training centers available for the program,noting that the initiative would not only empower civil servants but also boost confidence in governance processes at the grassroots.

    In continuation of the 2025 Iriji /Cultural Festival which took place on Sunday 21, September 2025, in Ijegun, Lagos,the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijedodo community,Eze Ambassador C.C. Nwokedi organized a get-together party for his cabinet members as a token of appreciation for their loyalty and service.

    Investigator News reports that the ‘Iriji’ festival, which symbolizes unity and gratitude through the sharing of food, was marked with a feast and generous gifts, including a traditional walking stick, gold wristwatches, bags of rice, and duvets.

    Speaking with newsmen,Eze Nwokedi stated that the get-together is meant to show an appreciation to supportive chiefs and members of his Palace for playing an important role in ensuring a successful and productive event.

     He went further to state that abundant food, generous gift ranging from traditional walking stick, presentation of awards which is accompanied by gold wristwatches, bags of rice, duvet and other items shared is inspired by his faith and personal conviction to gift deserving persons.

    According to him,it has been part of him for over 30 years since his coming to Lagos as the act of giving enables him a sense of fulfilment of purpose and giving a helping hand to those who need it.

    ” Today I decided to host my cabinet members,those I gave award to a get together party,I also donated one cow for them to share, aside the bag of rice I gave to them on Sunday so that they can celebrate the new yam festival with their family members. So today we are going to dine and wine ”

    ” I also extended my hands of fellowship to the Okada riders,by giving them a goat so as to celebrate the new yam festival ” he said.

    Investigator news gathered that awards were presented to HRH Ambassador Sir Godwin Njubigbo, J.P,Eze Ndigbo of Mainland who missed the official presentation at the just-concluded Iriji festival.

    Other awardees include Hon Onyeka Onwuemesi,Chairman Revenue Ikotun Igando and Mr Charles Mgbe Kelechi, Chairman of Ndigbo Ijeododo.

    Speaking with newsmen Eze Ambassador Njubigbo, J.P.,Ezendigbo of Mainland Local Government, expressed gratitude to God almighty and expressed sincere appreciation to Eze Nwokedi for the award, stating that the award would make him to do more for the less privilegeed.

    He used the medium to urge Ndigbo living in Lagos to continually live in peace with their host community, avoid conflicts and focus on their set business.

    Hon Onyeka Onwuemesi stated that he was not expecting the award, while expressing gratitude to the palace of Eze Okpoko

    “I never knew that all what I am doing for the Igbo community is being seen and today I am being recognized,I want to appreciate Eze Okpoko for the award as this award will spur me to do more for the Igbo community”.

    He went further to describe Eze Nwokedi as a good, generous, and very nice leader who does so much for the Igbo people, noting that his charitable contributions to the community speak volumes, urging him to keep up the good work.

    Mr Charles Mgbe Kelechi, chairman of Ndigbo Ijeododo Lagos, expressed happiness and gratitude for the honours and gifts presented by Eze Okpoko’s palace.

    He described Eze Nwokedi as a man of  integrity,one who is transparent and worthy of emulation.

    Hon. Seyi Jakande, Executive Chairman of the Odì-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has declared an emergency on the state of roads and drainage systems within the council area

    This declaration follows his recent inspection of local Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and roads on Wednesday, September 24, aimed at reinforcing healthcare standards in the community.

    Investigator news reports that the comprehensive tour included all seven primary health centers within the council area, focusing on the essential provision of initial health interventions before any advanced medical care.

    The visit began at the Coker Health Center on Coker Road in Ilupeju, followed by the Ajisegiri Health Center, also in Ilupeju. The team then visited the Majolate/Kayode Health Center on Kayode Road, the Kajola Health Center on Ayonuga Street, the Anikulapo Health Center on Ransome Kuti Street, the Awolowo Health Center at Olosha bus stop in Mushin, and concluded at the Ayantunga Health Center at the A.P Bus Stop in Atewolara, Mushin.

    Upon arrival at each facility,Hon Jakande conducted thorough examinations, methodically navigating through various wards and meticulously assessing the organization of the medication storage areas.

    The primary objective of this tour extended beyond evaluating the physical conditions of the facilities; it also aimed to scrutinize the effective management of staff and the resources available for providing optimal patient care.

    Investigator news gathered that Dr. Bidemi Fafunso, the Council’s Head of the Ministry of Health (MOH), Hon. Jakande and his team received detailed briefings on the daily operations of each health center.

    They observed firsthand the management of patient flow, paying particular attention to the systems in place in the waiting areas, which are crucial for enhancing patient experience.

    Engaging in constructive discussions, the team focused on identifying areas needing improvement, emphasizing the necessity of ensuring that every patient receives timely and high-quality care within these essential health facilities.

    In addition to the health centers, Chairman Jakande inspected the ongoing construction of the Odi-Olowo mini stadium at Nusarau Deen Public Primary School on Ayantunga Street, Olorunshogo.

    He also made a stop at the Kosybeth Public Primary School and took the opportunity to assess several roads within the LCDA.

    The roads inspected spanned across three wards, including Adewusi and Kadri Streets in Ward A1; Akinbiyi, Elegba, Oyegunle, Amodu, Alhaji Lasisi, Anifowoshe, and Ashaoku Streets in Ward A2; and Damengoro, Post Office, and Williams Ladega Streets in Ward B1.

    These inspections were part of assessing the drainage systems to identify those in urgent need of reconstruction as well as the roads that require immediate rehabilitation.

    Accompanying Hon. Jakande on this important tour were his Vice Chairman, Hon. Gbeminiyi Awodogan, Councillors from the LCDA, and the Council’s Heads of Department led by Council Manager, Mrs. Otenaike.

    Our correspondent reports that Hon Jakande has demonstrated his  unwavering commitment to enhancing healthcare services and overall infrastructure for the residents of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye in line with his HEWA Agenda.

    The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, has paid a condolence visit to residents affected by the recent demolition exercise carried out under powerlines in Oke Afa and Ailegun Ward.

    Investigator news reports the demolition was conducted by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) in line with the state government’s directive to clear structures erected under high-tension powerlines so as to enforce urban planning regulations and ensure public safety.

    The exercise follows notices and enforcement warnings that had been in place since 2024.

     

    During the visit,Aare Taiwo met with community members and expressed empathy over the losses they suffered as a result of the exercise.

    He assured them of  the Council’s support in mitigating the impact of the demolitions and promised that their concerns would be communicated to the appropriate authorities.

    The Chairman went further to emphasized the importance of adhering to urban planning regulations, highlighting that the state’s decision was aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing future hazards.

    Responding residents of Oke Afa and Ailegun Ward appreciated the Chairman’s visit and efforts towards making the environment habitable for all.

    They used the medium to appeal to the government for assistance and intervention to support those affected by the demolition exercise.

    Ikeja Local Government Chairman, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD),has launched the Back-to-School Program 1.0,a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing educational support to pupils across the community.

    This program underscores AKOD’s commitment to investing in the academic growth of Ikeja’s children and promoting inclusive governance.

    Investigator news reports that the program provides massive support for pupils, including school materials and resources to enhance their learning experience.

    The landmark event commenced with a Welcome Address delivered by the Council Manager, who led all the management staff of Ikeja Local Government.

    The Council Manager described the program as a bold, people-centered initiative reaffirming the commitment of the LG workforce to supporting Chairman AKOD’s transformative agenda.

    In his  welcome address, Comrade Dauda highlighted that education remains the foundation for building future leaders, reiterating his administration’s priority in investing in the academic growth of Ikeja’s children.

    AKOD disclosed that special distribution committees were set up for each school to ensure transparency.

    He said that each committee is headed by the councillor of the ward where the school is domiciled and includes representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the League of Imams, youth, and the Community Development Associations (CDAs).

    Representing the Lagos State Education District at the event, Mrs. Ayo-Vaughan Adeola from Education District VI commended the Chairman for his thoughtfulness, kindness, and foresight.

    She eulogised the program as a massive and impactful intervention that will go a long way in reducing the burden on parents while motivating pupils to strive harder in their academics.

    In a heartwarming moment, pupils came forward to thank Hon AKOD for the laudable initiative. They prayed to God to keep him in good health, grant him more wisdom, and bless him in all ramifications.

    Investigator news reports that the event witnessed the presence of all six councillors of Ikeja Local Government, led by the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Rasheed Adisa Ogunseye, who pledged legislative support for more people-oriented projects.
