    Somolu Local Government has once again taken the spotlight as Chief Press Secretary, Owolabi ‘Ajimomuya’ Oseni, was honoured as the Most Outstanding CPS of the Year in Lagos State.

    The prestigious recognition was bestowed upon him at the Role Model Award 2025, hosted by Tripple Oyin Concept, celebrating individuals who have demonstrated excellence in leadership and public service.

    Investigator news reports that Oseni who is a seasoned media strategist and communications expert,has played a pivotal role in the Chief Bayo Onanuga-led Media and Publicity Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in 2023.

    His influence extends beyond Somolu, as he also serves as the National Public Relations Secretary of Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), solidifying his reputation as a leading voice in public relations and media affairs.

    The investigator news gathered that the event also celebrated other outstanding personalities, including Ambassador Ruth Ayomide Lijirin, the Senior Special Assistant on Civic Engagement to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who was honoured as the Most Outstanding Personality of the Year.

    In addition, Mrs. Maryam Owolabi-Bada, the Senior Special Assistant on WAPA to the Executive Chairman of Somolu, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, was named Most Outstanding SSA of the Year.

    Expressing his gratitude, Oseni dedicated the award to the visionary leadership of Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ and the entire media team in Somolu.

    In a significant display of unity and collaboration, the newly installed King of Orile-Alagbado, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeshoga Williams Adeyoola (Tomia 1), paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID).

    Investigator news reports that the visit was part of the monarch’s familiarization tour aimed at strengthening ties with key stakeholders in the community.

    Welcoming the traditional ruler, Hon. Tijani congratulated him on ascending his ancestral throne and wished him a peaceful and prosperous reign.

    He further assured the King of the council’s unwavering support, emphasizing the strong synergy between security agencies and the council, as well as the prevailing peace and harmony in Orile-Alagbado.

    “Your Majesty, you can always count on the council’s structures whenever the need arises.

    “We have built strong relationships with security operatives to ensure a peaceful environment, and Orile-Alagbado remains a community with vast opportunities for growth and development,” the Chairman stated.

    In response, Oba Adeshoga Williams Adeyoola (Tomia 1) expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged his commitment to fostering unity and progress in Orile-Alagbado.

    “I deeply appreciate your words of encouragement and the assurance of support from the council.

    My reign will be dedicated to promoting peace, cultural heritage, and the development of our people,” the monarch affirmed.

    The Leadership and members of the 5th legislative council of Isolo LCDA have joined family, friends, political associates and other well-wishers to celebrate the council Vice Chairman, Hon. Shakir Adeola Sadiq on his 50th birthday today.

    The leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi Alarape, in a goodwill message described Hon. Sadiq as a dedicated and visionary leader, whose contributions have significantly impacted the development of Isolo LCDA.

    He praised his commitment to public service and his role in fostering unity within the council.

    The Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo has heartily rejoiced with his Vice, Prince (Hon.) Shakir Adeola Sadiq on his attainment of the remarkable golden jubilee.

    The council mayor in a special congratulatory message released by his Chief Press Secretary,Mr Rasheed lskilu expressed delight in lighting the torch of Shakir’s celebration describing him as a dependable lieutenant.

    “Like other well-wishers today is a day I had earnestly look forward to as it’s one to specially celebrate a brother and dependable partner in the #TowardsTheIsoloOfOurDreams Agenda, Hon. Shakir Sadiq Adeola on his 50th birthday,” the statement read in part.

    Hon Olasoju went further to state that Sadiq deserves the best of celebrations while recalling his invaluable contributions towards advancing the cause of developing the council area further as enshrined in his administration’s blueprint.

    “Sadiq is a pleasant partner to work with as he brings to the table his native intelligence, ingenuity, his legislative acumen among other qualities that has greatly helped in meeting the day-to-day demands of our constituents.

    On the heels of the tragic incidence, the Chairman Ejigbo Local Council Development Area,Hon Mosurudeen Bello has expressed sympathy and solidarity to Mr abdullahi whose father’s house at Fayemi street (in which he resides with his family) gutted by fire.

    The Chairman,who visited the scene thanked God that no life was lost, stating that no amount of property can equate with human life, saying if there’s life, there’s hope – only the dead has no hope”.

    “We are deeply saddened by this loss of properties and pray that God in his infinite mercy grant you fortitude during this trying time, and may God who has spared your life, family’s and that of other co-occupants, console and bless you even beyond the proportion of your loss, amen..”

    Hon Bello uses the opportunity to sensitize the people on how to cultivate safety measures, especially during the dry season by keeping matches, lighters and crackers away from children, handle crackers with care.

    He went further to appeal to them to always use metal ashtrays while smoking to dispose off matches, keep away papers, clothes and flammable liquids from heaters, stoves, and maintain standard measure while using gas cylinder in the house.

    *We can’t do kindness too soon for we don’t know how soon it will be too late, and while selfless service is rewarding and golden in the sight of God Almighty, let’s be our brother’ s keeper in this difficult time.”he stated

    The Southeast Council of Traditional Rulers has unanimously approved “Onyendu Ndigbo” (Igbo Leader in Diaspora) as the official designation for any Igbo leader in foreign lands or outside Nigeria. 

    In a communique signed and issued by His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr.) E.C. Okeke, CFR (Eze Imo), His Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe (Leader), and the Chairmen of the traditional councils of Enugu, Anambra, Abia, and Ebonyi States stated that all Igbo leaders in diaspora are required to adopt this new title with immediate effect and extend it to all their official documents, signposts, letterheads, and public representations.

    The South East traditional rulers went further to appreciates the efforts of Igbo leaders in diaspora in unifying Ndigbo and fostering peaceful coexistence with host communities, noting that their commitment to promoting Igbo culture and traditions is highly commendable.

    Eze (Dr) Okeke who spoke on behalf of the council stated that the use of Eze Ndigbo by lgbo leaders is hereby abolished, noting that “Eze” is a sacred traditional title exclusively reserved for recognized traditional rulers in the Southeast, as sanctioned by Igbo customs, culture, and state legislation.

    He went on to say that a true “Eze” is enthroned and coronated by his community or kingdom following traditional rites, divinations, and sacred ancestral ceremonies and that an“Eze” must have a kingdom or community to govern as the title is not honorary or symbolic but signifies rulership over a defined territory.

    The Eze lmo pointed out that the title of “Eze” cannot be conferred on individuals residing outside Igbo communities as the “Ofo” is a symbol of authority bestowed upon a traditional ruler by his people, signifying his spiritual and cultural legitimacy.

    He warned that failure to comply with the directive especially after a competent court ruling on the matter, will be considered a serious act of defiance, misconduct, and disregard for Igbo traditional authority and judicial pronouncements.

    While extending their hand of fellowship to all Igbo leaders abroad,urged them to embrace this resolution for the collective growth and advancement of Ndigbo,noting that compliance will foster better recognition, reconciliation, and cooperation between Igbo leaders abroad and traditional/government authorities at home.

    The Executive Chairman of lsolo Local Council Development Area, Hon Adebayo Olasoju has refuted series of allegations leveled against him circulating in social media that he has a rift with APC Party Leaders in lsolo and Lagos in general stating that both himself and leaders of the party are united and speaks with one voice.

    In a release signed by his media handlers, Olasoju stated that these baseless allegations represent a calculated and orchestrated campaign of character assassination, grounded in falsehoods, designed to mislead the public, stating that the writer wanted to score cheap allegation and use the opportunity to capitalize on how to relaunch his dead journalism career.

    The statement reads;”The attention of the media office of Isolo LCDA has been drawn to a malicious write-up published by one Lanre Olaleye, a  younger brother of the immediate past chairman of the council area, Shamsudeen Olaleye over an alleged rift between the council chairman and the leadership of the party.”

    “We would not have dignified the series of write-up especially the most recent one titled ‘Isolo LCDA Boss, Olasoju Begs for Forgiveness’ with a response but to set the record straight for members of the public.”

    “It became clear that Olaleye was only looking for event to capitalize on to relaunch not only his dead journalism career but also that of his elder brother’s political career as the latter has become almost a persona non-grata since leaving the saddle in 2021”

    “For records purposes, there is no issue whatsoever between the Council boss and the party leadership in Isolo and the council boss made this clear yesterday at the LGA meeting held at Ansar-ud-Deen primary school.”.

    Hon Olasoju went further to state that the spread of misinformation by the malicious writer was to create discord between the party leaders and his administration, while calling the public and the good people of lsolo to dismiss and ignore any attempts to disrupt the existing peaceful and cordial relationship within the party and lsolo in general.

    “Olaleye’s sensationalized reporting of the trivial issue is largely due to his envy of the impenetrable relationship between myself and the party leadership, a relationship his brother did not enjoy.”

    “Olaleye needs not be reminded that his elder brother had his time as the council chairman and the records are there about his anti-party activities and gross underperformance which accounted for the huge infrastructural deficits that confronted my administration.

    The release went on to say that Hon Olasoju was well received by the party leaders and the mammoth of party faithful who were singing praises of his name and drumming support for his re-election at the LGA meeting held on Thursday 30, January,2025.at Ansari-ud-deen primary school.

    The Council Chairman asked the writer of the said publication to bury his head in shame for needing to concoct or sensationalize a weightless issue in order to draw attention to himself, while assuring the people of the LG’s commitment to safeguarding lives and properties, aligning with the policies of Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu.

    Ahead of the forthcoming primary election of the All Progressive Congress,Ejigbo LCDA, youths from Akogun Youth Forum has drum their support towards the candidature of Hon lsiaq Olawole Olaleye as the Sole candidate of the forthcoming LGA Election holding in the state later this year.

    The representatives of the Akogun Youth Forum who met with the Campaign Director General of Hon. Isiaq Olawole Olaleye, Chairmanship Aspirant for Ejigbo LCDA stated that the youth forum, which boasts a strong membership of over 250 registered members and 200 Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC) holders,has officially declared their full support for Hon. Olaleye’s ambition to lead Ejigbo LCDA.

    During the meeting, the group reaffirmed their commitment to mobilize grassroots support and ensure victory for Hon. Olaleye in the upcoming election.

    They expressed confidence in his leadership, citing his dedication to youth empowerment, infrastructural development, and community progress.

    In response, the Campaign Director General expressed profound appreciation for the overwhelming support from the Akogun Youth Forum.

    The Mayor of Isolo, Olasoju Adebayo has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to his mentor and father-figure, Olasunkanmi Ayinde Marshal (K1 D-Ultimate) whose mother, Alhaja Halimot Abike Anifowoshe (Nee Akeredolu) died peacefully in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 105 years.

    In a personally signed release, Olasoju, though filled with gratitude for the good life led by the departed centurion, describes her death as a personal loss to him saying the angels have just gained a saint onto their side in the Late Alhaja Anifowoshe.

    The council boss went on to urge his patron to rather be joyed by the exemplary life the departed matriarch expended while on earth.

    “Alhaja’s departure may have left a void in our lives, yet we find enough solace in the prints she left on the sands of time which is why I’m joining my mentor and benefactor – The Olori Omoba Akile Ijebu – Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal in returning all adorations to Almighty Allah for the life of Mama.

    “Living up to a century and, even a little more, says it all about God’s kindness to the Afidipotemole of Ijebu-Ode family and Ilepeju Ekiti where she hailed from”.
