    The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID), has urged the newly deployed Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Alakuko Police Station, CSP Ighodaro O. Malvin, to focus on ensuring the safety and security of the residents and properties within Alakuko and its surrounding areas.

    Speaking during a courtesy visit by the DPO to the council, Hon. Tijani expressed his optimism that the collaboration between the police and the council would further strengthen the efforts to maintain law and order in Ojokoro LCDA.

    The council boss emphasized the importance of securing the boundaries of the LCDA, which he identified as critical zones due to their proximity to neighboring localities.

    He reminded CSP Malvin of the growing concerns over safety in some areas, particularly with regards to border security, and the need for proactive policing strategies to address these challenges effectively.

    The Council boss also highlighted the strategic importance of partnership between law enforcement agencies and local authorities in fostering a peaceful and harmonious community.

    He assured CSP Malvin of the council’s unwavering support and cooperation in carrying out his duties, stressing that working together would be key to achieving the shared goal of a safer and more secure environment for all residents.

    Hon. Tijani reiterated his commitment to ensuring that Ojokoro LCDA remains a peaceful and progressive area. He called on the DPO to leverage his experience and expertise in the police force to address any emerging security concerns and work closely with the council in fostering peace.

    CSP Malvin, in response, thanked the council chairman for the warm welcome and assured him of his dedication to upholding the law and working towards a safer, more secure community for all.

    The remarkable strides of the Olasoju-led Administration in Isolo LCDA in the Health sector were on Wednesday acknowledged and complemented by a philanthropic organisation, Bigfoot Cares who donated hospital equipment to the Ilasamaja Primary Healthcare Centre.

      The presentation of the hospital essentials was done at the healthcare facility on Ogunbowale Street, Ilasamaja with the council boss, Olasoju Adebayo as well as the council’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Anne Okonma among other officials on hand to receive the visiting NGO.

    The council boss expressed delight in the NGO’s charitable gesture which he said will go a long to complement his ongoing effort to bring the 24/7 operational healthcare facility at par with a 21st century primary healthcare centre.

    He commended the founder of the NGO, Mr. Babatunde Adu for the initiative of giving back to the society in such a manner adding that the world needs well-meaning individuals like him to support governmental efforts in making life more meaningful for residents.

    Olasoju assured that with his administration’s relentless efforts across all area of governance getting acknowledged he won’t rest on his oars until his #IsoloOfOurDreams mantra is outrightly achieved.

    “This is a laudable initiative that we are proud to benefit from. We are pleased that Bigfoots Cares found Isolo LCDA worthy of this gesture owing to the importance we place on the healthcare of our constituents. We can assure you that this equipment will be put to effective usage and we will sustain our programs and activities aimed at making life more abundant for the good people of Isolo LCDA. Thank you so much,” Olasoju said.

    On his part, Adu who doubles as the CEO of Bigfoot Homes Ltd hinted that his NGO has more in store to give to Isolo community as he expressed his delight to have contributed to the healthcare system.

    “Isolo means a lot to me and this donation is part of our ongoing projects aimed at affecting life posotively. It feels good to have supported the government. This is what we do. This is what we stand for. We can’t leave everything to the government, as citizens we need to step in as well. We are working on youth empowerment and Isolo should expect more,” Adu said.

    The equipment donated included a delivery bed, an episiotomy set and oxygen gauge, and drip stands a test of time.

    In a significant step towards shaping the future of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, the chairperson Barr Rekiyah Olufunke Hassan on Tuesday 14th of January presented the 2025 budget to the legislative Arm of the council.

    The 2025 budget tagged: Budget Of Inclusiveness according to the chairperson focuses on 5 points agenda which include community development and social service,health,education,social infrastructure and skills acquisition and empowerment. (C.H.E.S.S.) as this is expected to form assessing the current administration.

    According to a statement released by Akerele Ismail, Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chairperson, the budget estimates a total expenditure of Six billion, Seven Hundred and Fifty Eight million,Four hundred and Fifty six thousand, Fifty five naira and Twenty Kobo (N6,758,456,055.20k).

    The legislative arm of the council led by Hon Kayode Opayemi commended the chairperson for presenting the comprehensive and people oriented budget.

    They assured the chairperson that the budget would be thoroughly reviewed and debated to ensure that it reflects the needs and priorities of the community, while he promised that the legislative arm under his leadership will sign the budget within the next two weeks.

    He appealed to the chairperson to use her good office to ensure that fallen heroes who passed on while serving the community are not forgotten, like Late Hon Francis Babatunde Oke and Late Hon Oladotun Olakanle.

    Hon Opayemi opined that the chairperson should name a significant street in Ward A Onigbongbo town after late Hon Oke and that the newly constructed administrative blocks of the council should be named after late Olakanle on or before 31st of January to mark posthumous birthday of late Oke and on or before February 3rd to mark that of late Olakanle because late Oke lived and played his politics from Ward A Onigbongbo.

    Investigator news reports that the legislative arm’s thorough review and approval will ensure that the budget reflects the needs and priorities of the community, promoting transparency, accountability and good governance.

    The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area,Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID),on Friday, January 10, 2025, presented the council’s proposed budget for the year, tagged the “Budget of Consolidation: Sustaining the Gains of Development.”

    Investigator news reports that the budget presentation marked the final fiscal plan of his administration, aiming to build on past achievements and address lingering challenges.

    Speaking to stakeholders, Hon. Tijani outlined the total budget of ₦10.93 billion, a 25% increase from 2024.

    The financial plan prioritizes infrastructure, healthcare, youth and women empowerment, and education. Value-added tax (VAT) revenue is expected to contribute ₦9.07 billion, while statutory allocations will provide ₦1.58 billion.

    While internally generated revenue (IGR) is projected to rise by 10% to ₦163.6 million through improved collection mechanisms.

    Earlier the Chairman highlighted several accomplishments of his administration which include renovation of health centers, provision of an ICU-equipped ambulance, and free medical programs, completion of multiple drainage systems, roads, and public facilities, which have reduced flooding and enhanced economic activities.

    Other achievements include empowering over 300 women through skill acquisition programs and purchasing 600 plots of land in Abeokuta for agricultural development,enhanced staff efficiency through training and provision of official vehicles for the executive and legislative arms.

    Hon Tijani opined that the 2025 budget allocations will focus on “Recurrent Expenditure: ₦6.58 billion (60% of the budget), covering staff salaries and pension costs,Capital Expenditure*: ₦4.39 billion (40%), with emphasis on drainage construction, road rehabilitation, and educational infrastructure.

    He went further to state that the proposed projects include classroom furniture for primary schools, construction of drainages along key streets, and road development to improve mobility and connectivity.

    Hon. Tijani called on residents to fulfill their civic duties by paying taxes, rates, and levies promptly, emphasizing their role in financing the council’s programs. He credited the Federal Government’s subsidy removal for creating additional funds for local development.

    While expressing gratitude to stakeholders,the Chairman pledged continued efforts to uplift the living standards of Ojokoro’s citizens.

    Investigator news gathered that the budget is now awaiting approval by the council’s legislative arm.

    The Executive Chairman of Isolo, Olasoju Adebayo has joined the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in celebrating his beloved wife and First Lady of the state, Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu as she clocks 58 today.

    A personally signed congratulatory message and released by his Chief Press Secretary,Mr Rasheed lskilu encapsulated Olasoju’s admiration for Dr. Sanwo-olu whom he described as uncommonly supportive and complementary of her spouse’s strides as it has the do with the Themes+ agenda.

    Olasoju thumbed up the number one woman in the state who doubles as the Chairman of Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) for rubbing-off her supportive attribute among other virtues on council chairmen’s wives in the state to evolve goal-getting synergy.

    “My wife – Olajumoke and I heartily rejoice with the First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu on the auspicious occasion of her 58th birthday today.     The Mayor of Isolo, Olasoju Adebayo has conveyed his warmest compliments to the Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatai who turns 60 today.

    Olasoju, in a laudatory goodwill message released by his Chief Press Secretary,Mr Rasheed lskilu,Hon Olasoju joined the latest sexagenarian in appreciating God for His grace that has brought him this far in life.

    The council mayor went further to describe MAF as a quintessential politician whose progressive ideology has lit the path of many of his contemporaries as well as political newcomers making him a model and valued mentor to many.

    “I heartily join my very good brother and leader, Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatai in returning all adorations to his maker on the auspicious occasion of his diamond jubilee celebration. MAF as we all call him boasts a track record of selflessness and impactfulness. He embodies humility, warmth, altruism and humanness”.

    Olasoju went on to laud the former two-term House of Representatives Member for his towering legacies of revolutionising the housing sector in Lagos State as measurable in his sustained siting of Housing Estates around the centre of excellence as he also recalled his dutiful representation of Oshodi Isolo I Fed. Constituency at the national assembly.

    “MAF’s political career has been of service to the people. As a legislator, he left an indelible mark and he’s even living up to expectations overseeing no less a ministry than the state’s Ministry of Housing; evolving ideas and innovations that has catapulted the state into the comity of best shelter-providing cities on the continent of Africa,” Olasoju added.

    The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul-Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar,’ has presented the 2025 Appropriation Bill totaling ₦10.7 billion to the Legislative Council for consideration.

    The event which was held at the newly completed Legislative Complex,had in attendance key stakeholders, including APC leaders, past council chairmen, councilors, religious and community leaders.

    The budget tagged “Budget of Consolidation,” is aimed to conclude ongoing projects while avoiding debts for future administrations.

    The Chairman outlined revenue streams, including ₦2.5 billion from federal allocations, ₦8 billion from VAT, and over ₦112 million from internally generated revenue.

    According to him,expenditures are allocated to staff salaries, pensions, overhead costs, and impactful capital projects.

    Highlighting past successes, Hon. Salawu lauded the completion of vital projects, including the Somolu Administrative Complex, Fire Service Station, and Olaleye Ultramodern Shopping Centre. Road constructions like Ariyo Close and Kalejaiye Street, alongside youth-focused ICT and skills programs, underscored his administration’s achievements.

    In his address, Hon. Yomi Osunkoya, Leader of the Legislative Council, commended the administration for its transparency and impact-driven governance.

    He pledged thorough scrutiny of the budget to ensure alignment with residents’ aspirations. The Council also promised oversight on fund utilization, prioritizing education, women empowerment, and economic growth.

    Investigator news reports that this seventh budget presentation under Hon. Salawu’s leadership reflects his commitment to Somolu’s growth, leaving an enduring legacy for the community.

    The Chairman of Isolo LCDA,Hon Olasoju Adebayo, has sent heartfelt congratulations to the Chairman of the Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Zone B of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos State, Comrade Monsuru Agbabiaka, as he marks another anniversary of his birth today.

    In a tribute issued by his Chief Press Secretary,Mr Rasheed lskilu,Olasoju expressed deep admiration for the renowned transporter, highlighting his princely qualities, altruism, and humanitarian values.

    “Comrade Agbabiaka is not just a leader in the transport sector, but a true advocate for the welfare and progress of our council area. His selflessness and dedication are evident in his tireless work for the betterment of all,” Olasoju remarked.

    The council chairman went further to described the revered transport unionist and head of the Ojo Orishadeko Asalu Elemo Royal Family as an exemplary grassroots mobilizer and a staunch champion of community development.

    “Alagba as usually addressed by his admirers has, through his leadership, empowered numerous individuals ultimately contributing significantly to the growth of our council area. His impact resonates far beyond mentionable in the lives of many far and near,” Olasoju said

    Conveying his wish for the seasoned businessman, the council boss prayed for a long, healthy life for the birthday celebrant. He also beseeched God for Agbabiaka’s continued success across all areas of life, and for the strength and resources to keep making a positive impact in the lives of his people.

    The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar,’ has once again demonstrated his commitment to the well-being of his constituents by splashing generous end-of-year goodies on residents and stakeholders. 

    This remarkable gesture saw the distribution of livestock, including cows, goats, turkeys, and chickens, in a well-coordinated manner.

    Investigator news reports that beneficiaries were attended to in batches, ensuring smooth distribution across the community.

    The gesture reflected his inclusive leadership, as it reached residents and stakeholders regardless of their political, religious, or ethnic affiliations.

    Speaking to the mammoth crowd,Hon Dullar extolled the leadership qualities of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, describing them as exemplary leaders worthy of emulation.

    He stated that their dedication to service, progress, and unity has  served as a guiding light for local governance in Somolu and beyond.

    The Chairperson of Somolu Local Government, Mrs. Omotanwa Salawu, also joined in the spirit of giving by offering flocks of chickens, tubers of yam, and crates of eggs to widows and women’s groups who visited her on Christmas Eve. Her charitable act echoed the Chairman’s focus on empowering the less privileged.

    In addition to these efforts, Chairman Dullar had also recently taken proactive steps to alleviate poverty in Somolu as he recently distributed over N160 million in business grants to 5,000 petty traders, further uplifting the local economy.

    It will be recalled that Hon Hamed Salawu Dullar’s end-of-year largesse underscores his unwavering dedication to the people of Somolu, ensuring their well-being and prosperity.
