    True to his words of unlikelihood to rest on his oars, the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, on Wednesday took a major step in his promise of reconstructing the dilapidated Emzor Way, Off Oshodi-Apapa Express Way.

    Hon Olasoju dropped the hint about the imminent commencement of the reconstruction project,when he hosted top management staff members of corporate organizations situated on the corridor in his palatial office.

    In his remarks, the Council boss sought the cooperation of organizations on the said axis stressing that for a seamless and expedited construction, all hands must be on the deck.

    On the expected standard of the road construction, Olasoju impressed it on his guests that the ever-busy road will be built using HPV paving stones to stand the test of time given the fact that the Okota/Apple Junction road has not worn out despite the volume of trailers and articulated vehicles that ply the road on a daily basis. Olasoju added that solid culverts will be erected at their entrances for the benefit of the companies.

    “Today’s meeting is not only to put you in the know of the imminent development but to also seek your cooperation throughout the project. We’ve taken it upon ourselves to complement the efforts of our indefatigable state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu by embarking on such a magnitude of project.

    “The mantra upon which our administration is operating is #TowardsTheIsoloOfOurDreams and part of this dream is to ensure that our roads are in perfect condition for the pleasure of commuters and business owners hence our resolve to undertake the massive project.

    “Yes, it’s a ‘Trunk B’ road but we are taking it upon ourselves to fix it owing to its importance to the day-to-day socio-economic activities in our community,” Olasoju said.

    Corroborating the council chairman on the expected job quality, the Council Engineer, Engr. Gbolamiga Dawodu assured that the road will be done to meet the state standard and in strict compliance with global construction standards as he assured that the 6-month completion date set for the project will be adhered to. Gbolamiga noted that the council has approached the state ministries of works and their environment counterpart to allow an expansion of the channel at the T-junction on Osolo Way for a more efficient flow of drains.

    “The project will be done to meet state and federal standards. We’ve also mapped out strategies to ensure that we don’t completely close the road while the construction is ongoing to ensure that it won’t completely affect your business,” he said.

    On their part, the representatives of the ten companies in attendance which included Emzor Pharmaceutical, Starlink Global and Ideal Limited, Vista International, A-SOT, Recare Limited, CWAY Nig. Ltd, Chellarams PLC, Eunisell, Ethylene Company, and Arcee Textiles expressed their willingness to cooperate throughout the construction period as they thumbed up the council boss for taking the bold step. Meanwhile, the council boss, at the request of his guests, directed his chief of staff, Hon. Musbau Quadri to create a WhatsApp platform for communication purposes as he assured that enough men would be on ground to supervise the project daily.

    Before curtains were drawn on the meeting with a closing prayer from Mr. Hassan Nurain; the representative of Starlink Global & Ideal Ltd, the Council Manager, Mrs Mojisola Ogabi thanked the attendees for making time as she appreciated them for their anticipated cooperation.

    The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar,’ has been nominated for the prestigious Best Local Government Chairman in Nigeria award by the Nigerian Local Government Excellence Award (LOGEXA).

    Investigator news reports that this  marks his sixth nomination for the honour, which will be presented later this week at the newly constructed and soon-to-be-commissioned Somolu Local Government Administrative Complex.

    It will be recalled that Dullar’s leadership continues to garner national recognition, with six recent awards celebrating his innovative approach to governance.

    These include the Innovation in Local Governance Award and the Outstanding Grassroots Leadership Award, which commend his exceptional contributions to community development, infrastructural advancements, and impactful empowerment initiatives.

    Investigator news gathered that since the inception of the Hon Salawu Dullar,Somolu Local Government has witnessed remarkable transformation under his administration.

    Key projects include the interlocking of roads, solar-powered streetlights, and the establishment of the Olaleye Ultramodern Shopping Centre, all of which have bolstered economic growth and improved residents’ quality of life. These achievements have positioned Somolu as a model of effective grassroots governance.

    Determined to improve the general well-being of the indigenes and dwellers of Ojokoro local council development area,the council Chairman, Hon.Hammed ldowu .D. Tijani has given accounts of his stewardship, while restating his commitment to providing more dividends of democracy to the residents.

    He stated this during the 2025 Pre-Budget Stakeholders consultative forum which took place at the council secretariat on Thursday 28, November 2024.

    Hon HlD Tijani stated that he has upheld the principles of justice, fairness, and equitable distribution of dividends of democracy with equal transformation and sustainable developments across the council area.

    ” Your cooperation and unwavering support have been the bedrock of our success since the beginning of this administration. It is your partnership that has inspired us to deliver our promises and by God’s grace,we shall continue to consolidate our developmental efforts in a way that will benefit every citizen of Ojokoro local council development area.”

    ” Though the past years have been challenging and rewarding, through hard work, teamwork, dedication and a shared commitment to progress,we have achieved significant milestone in our infrastructure development.”he stated.

    The Council boss went on to highlight some of the projects recorded by his administration which includes the construction of Wilson Agedo, construction of Oyo Elegunde Street, rehabilitation of deplorable road at Ogumola Aloba road,Alagbado and Fola falusi street Alaku, interlocking of road at lekan Adewunmi Alagbado, rehabilitation of road at Olayitan mustapha close and construction of road extension at Taiwo Adewole Street,Abule Egba.

    Others are construction of drainage on Adeola Adepegba, renovation of new Oko Oba primary school ll building, construction of water scheme/borehole system at Shofolarin Gberinmi Street, renovation of Kola Primary Health center,purchase of ambulances for emergency services, provision of four more buses to boost internal generated revenue drive,among others.

    “To further enhance security,we commenced the construction of a divisonal office for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps in Ajegunle, organized free medical outreach on different medical issues including the distribution of eye glasses and health checks, gave cash grants to over 600 residents in 2024 to support small and medium scale enterprises and purchase 600 plots of land at lboro to boost local agricultural products in order to ensure food security for our farming residents”

    Investigator news reports that the National youth council Ojokoro chapter led by its Chairman, members of people living with disability, Artisans, members of Nigeria drug law enforcement agency, Nigeria security and civil defense corps, Nigeria Police, Christian Association of Nigeria, members of the south south region, members of the lgbo speaking community, members of the hausa community were all in attendance as they made their submission what they want the local government to do for them come 2025 .

    The youth council requested that the council chairman should renovate their youth council secretariat, provide bus for members of the youth council and provide tech empowerment for the youths. He also commended the chairman for giving the youths the platform to express their concerns, stating that he has been supportive in terms of human capacity and investments.

    Apostle Ojo Bamidele, leader of people living with disabilities urge the chairman to provide mini bus for the union and also provide business opportunities for its members.

    Head of the Artisans in Ojokoro,Mrs Adepagba Biliques calls for empowerment for its members, while the Chief Superintendent of Corps,Oluokun Victor Adekunle requested for additional patrol vehicle for the agency so as to enhance effective security

    While Speaking to newsmen,Hon Tijani Hammed stated that the essence of the pre budget preparation is an avenue where all stakeholders come to tell the government where they need the impact of the local government so that the chairman can prepare effectively in 2025 budget.

    He appreciated all stakeholders, market men and women, political leaders and party members,royal fathers and chiefs, the Vice chairman and members of the legislative council, management team and staff, community development committee (CDC), youths and security agencies for their unwavering support towards his administration, while appealing to the general public to ever remain as partners in progress by paying their rates,levies and charges as at when due to the designated banks so as to have more dividends of democracy cone next year.

    Lending his voice,the leader of the house,Hon Oyekunle Tunde Olalekan noted that the chairman has performed excellent well as he is not resting on his oars.

    “The chairman has performed excellently well as legislatures,there is a projection for the year 2024 as regard to the budget and we will attribute it more to the effectiveness of the legislative in Ojokoro because we always keep the chairman on his toe in our oversight functions ,but l must commend the chairman,he has marvelously done well ” he said.

    The leader of the lgbo speaking community,Eze Charles Ukeje applauded the Executive chairman for doing a great job in Ojokoro LCDA, stating that he is one man that do not discriminate but rather accommodates everyone. I pray that the incoming chairman would learn a lot from him because HID has left a lasting legacy as he has changed and remodel the face of Ojokoro.

    It was period of emotions and rains of tributes as the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar,’ hosted an emotionally charged Budget Stakeholders’ Forum, marking his final tenure in office, which ends in July 2025.

    The event which held at the soon-to-be-commissioned Somolu Local Government Administrative Complex was attended by religious, community, traditional, and political leaders.

    In his address, Hon. Salawu expressed heartfelt gratitude to Somolu residents for their unwavering support and prayers throughout his administration.

    He highlighted key achievements, including over 60 reconstructed roads, youth empowerment initiatives, market remodeling projects, and educational improvements.

    The Council boss went further to announce plans to secure independence for trainee artisans set to graduate soon, while underscoring his commitment to sustaining development.

    Hon. Salawu called on stakeholders to contribute ideas for the 2025 budget, ensuring inclusivity and addressing community needs.

    He reaffirmed his belief in the visionary leadership of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, seeking continued support for their efforts to advance Lagos State and Nigeria.

    The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area,Hon. Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello,has announced the commencement of a comprehensive rehabilitation and construction on Jubril Olabisi Street and Sheikh Ibrahim Niyas Road in Bungalow Jakande Estate.

    This announcement was made known during the separate stakeholders’ meetings held in each community where Hon. OBE was addressing residents and stakeholders of the communities.

    While outlining the council’s vision for these road projects, Hon Bello highlighted the expected impact on the local economy, ease of transportation, and general community welfare.

    “Our administration remains committed to ensuring that all infrastructural projects meet the highest standards and directly address the needs of our people, We have engaged Rockdom Integrated Limited, a reputable contractor, to ensure the timely and quality execution of these projects.” the chairman stated

    Also, Engineer Sola Ajose, the chairman of Rockdom Integrated Limited, shared detailed project outlines, emphasizing the construction company’s commitment to ensuring safety throughout the construction process.

    Investigator news reports that the meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to voice their expectations, offer feedback, and seek clarification on the project timelines and construction plans, noting that Ejigbo LCDA aims for these road improvements is to enhance connectivity, boost commerce, and improve the overall quality of life in the entire community of Ejigbo.

    It was an atmosphere of festivity and celebration of culture and tradition as Ndigbo in Alimosho local government area of lagos state and its environs  turned-out enmasse for the 2024 New yam festival (Iriji) last weekend at the palace of Eze Ndigbo of Alimosho,Eze Dr Lawrence Eze.

    The event which was celebrated on a low key saw Eze Lawrence preached on love, peace and unity. He added that the new yam festival is one cultural/traditional event which symbolizes brotherliness and togetherness,adding that the people should endeavour to accommodate one another.

    He went further to thanked all invited guests and the people of Alimosho for coming together to celebrate the 2024 new yam festival, stating that without peace and harmony, the nation cannot record any tangible progress, hence the need for every stakeholders in the society to contribute his quarter towards peace and harmony which at the end, would bring about positive development.

    Declaring the New yam festival open,Eze Dr Lawrence,who was a former board member,Federal.Medical Center Yobe state,stated that the new yam harvest is a gift from God as he encouraged the people of Alimosho and Ndigbo in general to always preserve their cultural/traditional heritage and prayed for more fertile harvest in subsequent seasons.

    Eze Lawrence, the Chairman, Supreme Council of Ndieze Lagos state, explained that he was delighted and grateful to God almighty that over the years lgbos in Alimosho and across the globe have always lived in peace and unity with the host community, noting that new yam festival celebration brings about unity and coordination among the lgbos.

    After series of prayers for peace, unity, prosperity and progress was done by the Eze Ndigbo,the traditional breaking of kolanut was performed, thereafter he embarked on yet marathon prayers petitioning God to ensure that there is peace, happiness, unity and progress in Alimosho and lagos state in general.

    Speaking with lnvestigator news,the newly installed Obi of Alimosho,High Chief Engr. Chibuike Azubuike stated that the new yam festival is a period when the lgbos come together to thank God for a bountiful harvest and also use the opportunity to pray for a bigger season.

    He opined that the cultural celebration is bigger than the Christmas event, noting that brings people together,whereby children can learn about their language, culture and traditions, while appealing to every lgbo man to cultivate the habit of teaching their children to know more about their mother’s tongue.

    “We should learn to promote our cultural heritage and traditions,by doing this,we will be able to teach our children and generations yet unborn their mother’s tongue. Though English language is good but we must not forget our root, because this culture was handed over to us by our forefathers and we must pass it to the next generation”he submitted

    Also,Eze Dr Lawrence Eze, while addressing news men stated that New yam festival is so much cherished and revered by Ndigbo, stating that Ndigbos attach a lot of importance and respect to yam and its significance to the culture and traditions, hence communities in lgbo land don’t miss this annual new yam festival which many communities have turned into carnival.

    He called for peace and togetherness among Ndigbos and other various ethnic groups in the country, while opposing those who said Iriji festival is fetish,describing lriji festival as an Igbo cultural event which is now celebrated as thanksgiving to God.

    The Mayor of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo was unsparing with words as he congratulated the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa on his 52nd birthday today.

    Olasoju, in a felicitation message released by his Chief Press Secretary,Mr Rasheed lskilu,the council boss extolled the exemplary leadership virtues of Mr Speaker hailing him for sustaining the state legislature above the common standard of Excellence.

    Olasoju noted that under Obasa’s leadership, the Lagos State House of Assembly had witnessed remarkable advancements in governance, with impactful legislations that addresses the needs of the people and strengthens the fabric of the state.

    The Mayor emphasized that Rt. Hon. Obasa’s leadership had not only contributed to the state’s political stability but had also set a benchmark for legislative excellence, both within and outside the state. He highlighted the Speaker’s contributions to fostering inter-governmental arms’ relationships and his commitment to empowering his colleagues with the skills necessary for effective legislative practices.

    Hon Olasoju expressed confidence that Obasa’s legacy would continue to inspire future generations of lawmakers and serve as a model for leadership and service in public office.

    The Mayor prayed for continued strength and wisdom for the Speaker. He invoked divine guidance upon Obasa’s journey, asking for God’s blessings to continue to surround him in all his endeavors.
