A racketeer who is widely known,arrested for so many crimes,Samuel Chukwudi Timothy also known as Chucks, has been re-arrested again by the police operatives of the Zone 2 Command in Lagos for allegedly threatening and blackmailing Eze Ambassador Chika.C.Nwokedi, the Chairman of the Council of Ezendigbo Lagos.

Investigator news reports that Chucks claims to be the son of a retired Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro, but investigations suggest this claim may be false.

According to reports, Chucks allegedly made several TikTok videos defaming and blackmailing Eze Chika Nwokedi, Chief Sunny Akpoyibo, and reporters who wrote a court angle story of when he was arrested previously in 2023.

This is reportedly not the first time Chucks has been arrested for similar offenses involving Eze Nwokedi, and the monarch had previously forgiven Chucks after he was arrested and charged in court. However, Chukwudi allegedly continued to harass him even after the pardon.

The history of conflict between Chucks and Eze Chika Nwokedi dates back to 2023 when Chucks was first arrested and charged in court.After being granted pardon, Chucks allegedly continued to harass Eze Nwokedi, making unreasonable demands and resorting to blackmail when refused.

The recent re-arrest has brought attention to Chucks’ pattern of behavior and the potential consequences of his actions.

Following the petition filed by Eze Chika Nwokedi, the police launched an investigation into Chucks’ activities. The investigation revealed a trail of evidence suggesting Chucks’ involvement in blackmail and defamation. Chucks’ claim of being Mike Okiro’s son has also been scrutinized, with investigations indicating that this claim may be false.

This begs the question, what exactly is the crime of Eze Chika Nwokedi warranting public bullying and blackmailing from Samuel Chukwudi Timothy? This is not the first time; Chucks was arrested for committing a similar offence against Eze Nwokedi and Chief Sunny Akpoyibo.

For this, he was arrested and charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court and remanded in a correctional centre at Kirikiri town for the same offence.

Moreover, Eze Chika Nwokedi later withdrew the matter after so many calls came through begging on behalf of Chukwudi for pardon, including Chukwudi himself; Nwokedi forgave via a formal withdrawal from court, setting Samuel Chukwudi free.

However, the situation took a new turn as Chukwudi Samuel began to harass Eze Chika Nwokedi again immediately he was freed.

Samuel Chukwudi, on the day of his total freedom from the case with Eze Nwokedi at the Ejigbo Magistrates Court, witnessed how four women, including a pregnant woman, were remanded in custody over #240,000 and how Eze Nwokedi volunteered to pay off their debts in a show of compassion.

Eze Nwokedi, who was touched by the inability of the four suspects (all women) who were brought from Kirikiri custody due to debt owing, raised his hand and told the presiding magistrate, Mrs K.A. Ariyo, that he volunteers to pay the debt owed by the four ladies for their freedom.

Timothy, who witnessed the scenario, began to ask Eze Nwokedi, who just pardoned him, to buy him a tricycle since he has such money to help the debtors in court to secure the release of the women who are strangers to Eze Nwokedi, a very unreasonable request from someone who was just pardoned for offences of serial blackmail.

Eze Nwokedi blatantly refused and demanded he never come his way again; this response was met with another series of blackmail by Chukwudi Samuel via TikTok videos and other social media forums to defame Eze Chika Nwokedi for over one year, leading to the recent re-arrest.

Hence, a petition dated 24th November, 2024, by the office of Barrister Peter Nnajiego Chambers to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Zone 2, Command Headquarters, Mr Fayoade Adegoke, on behalf of Eze Chika Nwokedi, stated:

Sir,

“RE: PETITION AGAINST MR CHUKWUDI SAMUEL TIMOTHY OF IJEGUN, LAGOS STATE, AND HIS COHORTS FOR THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY OF EZE DR CHIKA NWOKEDI AND CONDUCT LIKELY TO CAUSE BREACH OF THE PUBLIC PEACE.”

“We are solicitors to Eze, Dr Chika Nwokedi of Ijegun, Lagos State (hereinafter called our client), on whose instruction we state as follows:

It is our instruction that for some months now, the above-named Mr Chukwudi Samuel Timothy and his cohorts have constituted themselves as thorns in the flesh of our client for no reason.”

It is our further instruction that the said Mr Chukwudi and his cohorts have sworn to waste our client if unchecked.”

It is our briefing that about 4 days ago this group, led by Mr Chukwudi, invaded our client’s premises with harmful implements, viz., cutlasses, broken bottles and iron rods, with a singular plan to waste our client but for the people around.”

It is our instruction that the said Mr Chukwudi has even gone to social media, inviting all his men to ensure that our innocent client is mercilessly dealt with if seen anywhere.”

It is our instruction that our client now lives in fear of the said Mr Chukwudi and his cohorts, who have boasted of their ability to get away with any crime committed, boasting of their political tin gods that make them untouchable in Lagos State.”

Premised on the above, we have our client’s firm instruction to cry to your office praying you, sir, come to the aid of our client, save our client’s life and property from the estranged Mr Chukwudi and his cohorts, bring them to book and restore the hope of our client in his right to life and freedom of movement.”

We are of the opinion that only your fatherly and timely intervention will meet the justice of our client’s case.

Eze Nwokedi, who maintained that he wants Chucks to be tried for the sake of justice, corroborated this; he claimed that after committing a similar offence and being detained and charged by the Isheri Oshun Division police, Chukwudi begged for forgiveness and was granted it, only to resume his blackmailing act because Eze Chika, who had previously granted Chuks a pardon, refused to purchase him a tricycle as he requested, which led to further defamation.

Investigator news gathered that Chucks is currently on administrative bail and is expected to appear in court to face the allegations against him.

The outcome of the case will determine the consequences of Chucks’ actions and potentially set a precedent for similar cases in the future as reports has it that he was not related by blood with Mike Okiro but did reside with Mike Okiro as a young man.

He is among those Chief Mike Okiro accommodated and has never approved of Chuks using his name as a shield after committing a crime.

The Delta State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping, neutralizing six suspected kidnappers and arresting five others in separate operations. A total of N5 million in ransom money was recovered from the suspects.

In a release signed by the Police Public Relation Officer,SP Bright Edafe stated that on July 9, 2025, operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team raided a hideout in Ewu community, Ughelli South LGA, engaging suspected kidnappers in a fierce gun duel. Six suspects were confirmed dead, and two others are receiving treatment.

The police image maker noted that the operation which was led by CSP Godwin Osadolor, paid off as police trailed the suspected kidnappers terrorising the State to their hideout at Ogwashi Uku.

SP Edafe said that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were allegedly responsible for a series of kidnappings at Ibusa, Ogwash-Uku, Obulu-Okiti, Isele-Ukwu, Isele-Asagba and most recently the kidnapping of a young lady at Ogwash-Uku on the 9th July 2025.

He disclosed that the suspect led the operatives to their hideout at Second Deputy and Oko in Asaba, where four other members of his gang were also arrested. Investigation is ongoing.

“On 12th July 2025 at about 0630hrs, the command Special Anti-kidnapping and cyber crime squad, CSP Godwin Osadolor led operatives and trailed suspected kidnappers terrorising Delta State to their hideout at Ogwashi Ukwu in Oshimili North LGA of Delta State, where a suspected kidnapper named Sanusi Abdulahi was arrested in possession of ransom of Five Million Naira (#5,000,000) which was part of the ransom they collected from one of thier victims.”

” Preliminary investigation revealed that they were allegedly responsible for a series of kidnappings at Ibusa  Ogwash-Ukwu, Obulu-Okiti, Isele-Ukwu, Isele-Asagba and most recently the kidnapping of a young lady at Ogwash-Ukwu on the 9th July 2025.

Edafe went further”On the 9th of July, 2025, at about 0835 hrs, along the Patani-Ughelli Expressway, near the Unenurhei axis, Operatives of CP-Special assignment team in a sting operation raided the hideout of Solomon Danisco aka “Picolo”, Nelson Jacob, Oruma Saturday, Olise Jude, Precious Urhobowin, Whisky Rufus, aka “Asawana”, a native of Ewu community.

“During the operation, the suspects, heavily armed, engaged the operatives in a fierce gun duel during which the suspects and their gang members sustained serious gunshot injuries. They were taken to the hospital, where six of them were confirmed dead while two others are still receiving treatment. Exhibit recovered includes four (4) locally-made guns and nineteen (19) rounds of live cartridges.”he submitted

The Delta State Police Command has successfully apprehended suspected kidnappers and members of the notorious “One Chance” syndicate in two distinct operations, showcasing the command’s commitment to tackling crime and ensuring public safety.

In a press release signed by Police image maker,SP Edafe Bright stated that three suspects,including Augustine Ojanuware, Precious Urhobowin, and Julius Okpako, were arrested in Osubi Area of Warri and Ughelli town for allegedly kidnapping a pharmacist in Ughelli and releasing her after five days upon payment of an undisclosed ransom.

Edafe noted that the suspects also attempted to kidnap another victim in Iyede community, stealing their Toyota Corolla and a locally made gun with eight live cartridges was recovered from the suspects.

“Following the directive of the Commissioner of Police Delta State CP Olufemi Abaniwonda that a case of kidnapping reported at Isiokolo Police station where one suspect was initially arrested should be transferred to operatives of the CP special assignment team alongside one suspect named Augustine Ojanuware ‘m’. Operatives of CP-SAT.

“Upon further investigation,the suspect confessed that he is a member of a Kidnapping and Armed Robbery Syndicate terrorising Ughelli Warri, Agbarho, Sapele and their environs.

“On 28/6/2025, the suspect led operatives to Osubi Area of Warri and Ughelli town, where two(2) additional suspects, viz Precious Urhobowin ‘m’ 27yrs of Ewu Community in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State and one Julius Okpako ‘m’ 32yrs, a native of Oviri – Ogor community in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State, who is a member and owner of a POS machine used in collecting ransom, were arrested respectively and another locally made gun with eight (8) rounds of live cartridges was recovered from them.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that Suspects were responsible for the kidnap of a a Pharmacist on 19/6/2015 in her residence in Ughelli and released after five (5) days upon payment of undisclosed sum of money and whose Lexus jeep they abandoned along Isiokolo axis and also the attempted kidnap of another male victim whose Toyota Corolla they robbed upon the failed attempt at Iyede community on 28/4/2025. Suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”he said.

Investigator news gathered that the police arrested Lucky Oghenerobor, Olamide Fagbaibe, and Umeh Akpan, members of the “One Chance” syndicate, in Agbarho town and Ughelli town.

The suspects confessed to operating in Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and environs, targeting unsuspecting passengers on commercial tricycles as different kinds of suspected stolen phones were recovered from the suspects.

Investigator news also gathered sequel to a series of complaints received from members of the public in Ughelli related to a syndicate that specialises in robbing unsuspecting passengers who board commercial tricycles as Operatives of CP – Special Assignment Team ( CP – SAT ) led by ASP Julius Robinson stormed Agbarho town and effected the arrest of Lucky Oghenerobor

“Acting on credible intelligence, on 28/6/2025 and 29/09/2025 operatives of CP – Special Assignment Team ( CP – SAT ) led by ASP Julius Robinson stormed Agbarho town and effected the arrest of Lucky Oghenerobor ‘m’ 37yrs a native of Olomoro Community in Isoko South LGA of Delta State resident in Agbarho town who is the leader and owner of their operational tricycle, other suspects were also arrested within Ughelli town namely; Olamide Fagbaibe ‘m’ 24yrs a native of Akure in Ondo State and Umeh Akpan ‘m’ 37yrs a native of Eket in Akwa – Ibom State both resident in Ughelli town. Suspects confessed that they usually operate in Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and environs. Recovered from them are sixteen (16) different kinds of suspected stolen phones.”

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested an ex-international football player and his businessman partner over an alleged attempt to smuggle a consignment of cocaine into Nigeria through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, (MMIA) Ikeja, Lagos.

Investigator news reports that the NDLEA said the business partner was arrested upon his arrival at the Lagos airport on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

In a statement by the Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday, it said a search of his carry-on bag revealed 37 wraps of cocaine weighing 800 grams concealed therein.

“Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested an ex-international football player Segun George Hunkarin along with his businessman partner Ntoruka Emmanuel Chinedu over an attempt to smuggle a consignment of cocaine into Nigeria through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, (MMIA) Ikeja, Lagos.

“Investigation showed that the suspect was coming from Turkey on an Ethiopian Airlines flight but transited through Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he collected the luggage from another person before heading to Nigeria.

Further checks revealed that an accomplice who turned out to be the former professional footballer, Segun Hunkarin, was waiting for Chinedu at the airport carpark to collect the consignment from him,” it said.

The agency went further to explain that Hunkarin, who had stayed years in Brazil playing for football clubs, was promptly tracked and arrested at the carpark.

“In his statement, Hunkarin claimed that while playing professional football in the South American country, he had only trafficked drugs twice from Brazil to Ethiopia but had never brought any to Nigeria,” it added.

The NDLEA further disclosed that another Europe-based businessman it identified as Amen Okoro Godstime was on June 27 arrested by its operatives at the Lagos airport while attempting to traffic 5,000 pills of tramadol 225mg “packaged as known malaria drugs such as Lonart, Amatem, and Aluktem to Spain”.

It explained that he was intercepted at the departure hall of Terminal 2 of the airport during the outward clearance of passengers on a Royal Air Maroc flight to Spain through Casablanca.

“Okoro, who is into freight and logistics business between Europe and Nigeria, claimed that on his arrival in Spain, he would to a train to France where he resides, and from there send the tramadol consignment to Italy for retailing,” the statement added.

At the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA) Enugu, the NDLEA operatives said it intercepted a Maputo, Mozambique-based bar attendant, one Ezenwaka Chibuzor Emmanuel.

It said that a search of his luggage led to the discovery of cardboard-sized parcels of methamphetamine weighing 17.500 kilograms and three parcels of cocaine weighing 3.050 kilograms.

The statement read in part, “The 38-year-old suspect was coming from Johannesburg, South Africa via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on an Ethiopian Airlines flight when he was interdicted and subjected to a search during which the illicit drugs concealed in bedsheets packed in his bags were discovered.

“Another passenger on board the same Ethiopian Airlines flight, 54-year-old Azu Follygan Kpodar was also intercepted at the Enugu airport by NDLEA operatives. When Azu, who arrived from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was searched, a liquid soap plastic container marked YPE, was discovered in his luggage.

The substance was promptly taken for analysis at the NDLEA forensic and chemical laboratory, Enugu where the substance tested positive to cocaine.”

The Delta State Police Command has announced the arrest of suspected armed robbers and gun runners, as well as the recovery of firearms and ammunition.

According to the Force Public Relation Officer, SP Bright Edafe,the arrests were made by operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) in two separate operations.

He stated that the command arrested three suspects, Koko Josh, Asomugha Clinton, and Anthony Kelvin, who are believed to be members of the Aiye confraternity

A search of their premises yielded a fabricated Baretta pistol, two locally made guns, and live cartridges.

“Acting on credible intelligence carried out on the activities of cultists around Mosogar and its environs, on 11/06/2025, at about 0345hrs, Operatives of CP – Special Assignment Team ( CP – SAT ) led by ASP Julius Robinson stormed the residence of one Koko Josh  aged 29 years, a native of Otor-Iyede Community in Isoko North LGA, Delta State, resident of Adams Street Area Mosoghar and one Asomugha Clinton.27 years, a native of Mbaisse Community in Ezinetthe LGA, Imo State.”

” During the preliminary investigation, a search warrant was executed in his premises during which a black bag containing a Fabricated Baretta Pistol loaded with two(2) rounds of live ammunition, two (2) locally made guns, eight rounds (8) of live cartridges were recovered also recovered are multiple phones laptop and some fetish substances.   Further investigation led to the arrest of Anthony Kelvin 26 yrs, a native of Orhoakpor Community in Ethiope East LGA, Delta State and Gift Amotsuka 25 yrs, a native of Jakpa Community in Warri North LGA, Delta State, both residents at Adam Street Mosoghar. They are all suspected to be members of the Aiye confraternity. Suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.” he stated

SP Edafe went further to state that the command also arrested two suspects, Ekene Chroma and Okafor Jonathan, who are suspected of being involved in the business of gun running. Two English single-barrel guns and 110 live cartridges were recovered from them.

“In another development, Operatives of the CP Special assignment team at about 1600hrs of 13/6/2025 embarked on a sting operation in a sting operation at  Okpanam Area of Asaba and effected the arrest of one Ekene Chroma,36yrs a native of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, and one  Okafor Jonathan 18yrs a native of Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, both resident at Okpanam. ”

“Upon search, two(2) English Single Barrell and one hundred and ten ( 110) live cartridges were recovered. Preliminary investigations revealed that they were suspected of being involved in the business of gun running. Suspects and exhibits are in custody while the investigation is ongoing.”he submitted

The release went on to say that the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, expressed his gratitude to members of the public who have been providing useful information to the police, enabling them to record these achievements.
