    Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, has urged the community to join forces with his administration to harness the potential of tourism for sustainable transformation.

    In his World Tourism Day message, themed “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” Aare Taiwo emphasized the importance of tourism as a strategic tool for development.

    He outlined plans to promote trade fairs, business exhibitions, and talent discovery hubs to project Ejigbo’s potential, empower youths, and strengthen local businesses.

    “As the world marks World Tourism Day with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”, I see a renewed call for us to position Ejigbo as a community of opportunity, enterprise, and growth.

    “Tourism is more than a celebration of culture; it is a strategic tool for development. That is why our administration will promote initiatives such as trade fairs, business exhibitions, and hubs for talent discovery—platforms that will project Ejigbo’s potential, empower our youths, and strengthen local businesses.

    “These initiatives are not events for show; they are deliberate steps to transform our economy, attract investment, and create jobs”.

    “Our vision is clear: to make Ejigbo a model LCDA where creativity thrives, where enterprise finds support, and where every resident shares in the benefits of sustainable transformation.”he stated

    Investigator news reports that with a vision to make Ejigbo a thriving hub of creativity and enterprise, the Chairman invited residents to partner with his administration so as to create a brighter future for the community.

    He wished everyone a Happy World Tourism Day and reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Ejigbo through sustainable development.

    In continuation of the 2025 Iriji /Cultural Festival which took place on Sunday 21, September 2025, in Ijegun, Lagos,the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijedodo community,Eze Ambassador C.C. Nwokedi organized a get-together party for his cabinet members as a token of appreciation for their loyalty and service.

    Investigator News reports that the ‘Iriji’ festival, which symbolizes unity and gratitude through the sharing of food, was marked with a feast and generous gifts, including a traditional walking stick, gold wristwatches, bags of rice, and duvets.

    Speaking with newsmen,Eze Nwokedi stated that the get-together is meant to show an appreciation to supportive chiefs and members of his Palace for playing an important role in ensuring a successful and productive event.

     He went further to state that abundant food, generous gift ranging from traditional walking stick, presentation of awards which is accompanied by gold wristwatches, bags of rice, duvet and other items shared is inspired by his faith and personal conviction to gift deserving persons.

    According to him,it has been part of him for over 30 years since his coming to Lagos as the act of giving enables him a sense of fulfilment of purpose and giving a helping hand to those who need it.

    ” Today I decided to host my cabinet members,those I gave award to a get together party,I also donated one cow for them to share, aside the bag of rice I gave to them on Sunday so that they can celebrate the new yam festival with their family members. So today we are going to dine and wine ”

    ” I also extended my hands of fellowship to the Okada riders,by giving them a goat so as to celebrate the new yam festival ” he said.

    Investigator news gathered that awards were presented to HRH Ambassador Sir Godwin Njubigbo, J.P,Eze Ndigbo of Mainland who missed the official presentation at the just-concluded Iriji festival.

    Other awardees include Hon Onyeka Onwuemesi,Chairman Revenue Ikotun Igando and Mr Charles Mgbe Kelechi, Chairman of Ndigbo Ijeododo.

    Speaking with newsmen Eze Ambassador Njubigbo, J.P.,Ezendigbo of Mainland Local Government, expressed gratitude to God almighty and expressed sincere appreciation to Eze Nwokedi for the award, stating that the award would make him to do more for the less privilegeed.

    He used the medium to urge Ndigbo living in Lagos to continually live in peace with their host community, avoid conflicts and focus on their set business.

    Hon Onyeka Onwuemesi stated that he was not expecting the award, while expressing gratitude to the palace of Eze Okpoko

    “I never knew that all what I am doing for the Igbo community is being seen and today I am being recognized,I want to appreciate Eze Okpoko for the award as this award will spur me to do more for the Igbo community”.

    He went further to describe Eze Nwokedi as a good, generous, and very nice leader who does so much for the Igbo people, noting that his charitable contributions to the community speak volumes, urging him to keep up the good work.

    Mr Charles Mgbe Kelechi, chairman of Ndigbo Ijeododo Lagos, expressed happiness and gratitude for the honours and gifts presented by Eze Okpoko’s palace.

    He described Eze Nwokedi as a man of  integrity,one who is transparent and worthy of emulation.

    The Chairman Council of Ndieze Lagos State, Eze Ambassador C.C.Nwokedi, Eze Okpoko I of Obodokwu has urge the Igbo community to respect the cultures and traditions of their host communities while supporting the Lagos State Government and promoting peaceful co existence.

    He stated this during 2025 New yam festival held in Lagos which unify the heritage of the Igbo people, urging the people to uphold traditions passed down by their forefathers.

    Eze Nwokedi who is the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijedodo highlighted the importance of the New Yam festival which is an age long cultural and traditional ceremony as a mark of honour to thank God for the end of the harvest season and ask for his blessings in the next planting season.

    “The Igbo New Yam Festival is an annual traditional event of the Igbos wherever they find themselves. As a king of Igbo man according to our tradition and culture, it is obligatory to observe this age-long festival laid down by our ancestors,”

    “The festival, which coincides with the harvest season, is symbolic of divine grace,it provides an opportunity for the living to appreciate God for surviving the planting season.”

    “Many people planted and today they are not alive to harvest. Therefore, those of us who are the alive have cause to glorify the Lord.”he said

    Investigator news reports that the New yam/ Igbo Cultural festival which was held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 attracted so many Igbo sons and daughters including non indigenes, friends and well wishers to celebrate the new season of bountiful harvest and thanks to God almighty for the gift of life.

    Those in attendance include members of Council of Ezendigbo, Igbo Speaking Community,  Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos,President of Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos, Chief Sunday Udeh,, High Chief Sunday Eze (former President General of the Igbo Speaking)members of Igbo Buru Otu Association.

    The Chairman of the occasion Chief Sunny Akpoyibo,the Otunba of Alimosho hailed the unique celebration of the New Yam festival, describing it as a symbol of Igbo culture.

    Chief Akpoyibo went further to praise Eze Nwokedi’s philanthropy and commended his unique approach to giving while calling on other Igbo traditional leaders to emulate him noting that Nwokedi has been an aggressive giver over the years.

    Earlier,the event started with the conferenent of chieftaincy titles to deserving individuals, who have contributed immensely in various ways to humanity.

    The ceremony which took place at the palace of the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijedodo had individuals conferred with different titles. They include Chief Kingsley Iheakor Mmama (Ezi nwa no na Obi), Chief Blessing Obiajunwa (Osodimee Nwanyi ma na’ria), Chief Collins Nwosu (Nze n’ Egbuodu), Chief Emmanuel Nnamdi Nneji (Okwuruora), and Hon. Chief Mrs. Elizabeth Nwankata (Akwaugo Nwanyi I of Lagos).

    Speaking with newsmen,Eze Ambassador Nwokedi emphasised living in peace with other tribes in the state,drawing his inspiration from the book of Matthew 5-7.

    ” As a custodian of culture and traditions,I love to make peace, according to Matthew 5:7,I am here to protect and ensure that there is peaceful co existence between the Yorubas and Igbo speaking community”

    The United Nation Ambassador noted that he has chosen a divine path as a giver, a trait exhibited since childhood, and encouraged others to follow their own paths, cautioning against emulation that might lead to difficulties.

    Speaking after his coronation, Chief Emmanuel Nnamdi Nneji (Okwuruora)pledged to use his title to mentor the youth and create opportunities for the less privileged.

    For Chief Mrs. Elizabeth Nwankata (Akwaugo Nwanyi I of Lagos)she said that her recognition would spur her to expand her humanitarian efforts, particularly towards supporting vulnerable members of the community.

    Nze Collins Nwosu(Onowu Obi Ndigbo)said he is full of thanks to Eze Ambassador Nwokedi for giving him the recognition, stating that he would continue to assist the needy in his little capacity.

    An awardee and special guest, Eze Dr Onyeka Ifekandu, the Ezendigbo of Lagos Island expressed gratitude over the recognition accorded him by Eze Chika Nwokedi.

    Eze Dr Ifekandu noted that as a successful businessman for over 33 years in Lagos, he’s an ambassador of Igbo culture and advocates for its preservation.

    He said, “I’ve been awarded for propagating Igbo culture in the diaspora, partnering with kings in the homeland and teaching children born outside Igbo soil about the culture. In my capacity, I have also provided scholarships for indigent people and financial grants to homeless individuals.”

    ” I have mentored over 50 young people in tailoring material businesses, sponsored others in their area of business and supported the the Igbo community in Lagos and beyond”

    “Let me use this opportunity to acknowledge the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijedodo community for his benevolence and act of giving especially to the down trodden in the society,he is my kind of person that always preach and promote peace and ensure that the less privilegeed whether Igbo or non Igbo,we make an impact in the society.”he stated

    The Eze Ndigbo of Aigbaka, Ejigbo Eze Ambassador Nicolas Emenike Njoku applauded Eze Chika Nwokedi for his tenacity in promoting the Igbo culture.

    He noted that cultural events such as the ‘Iriji’ enable the children born outside Igbo land to embrace their cultural heritage while appealing to the Igbos who live in the urban areas to always educate their children about the traditions and culture of their heritage.

    ACP Patrick described Eze Nwokedi as a giver and a blessing to many people in the society as he always there to support widows and the less privileged individuals.

    ACP Patrick who is a one time Police force PRO,Osun State opined that Eze Nwokedi has had a cordial relationship with all the military formations, including the Nigerian Police Force, for over 25 years and still counting and has encouraged and supported the Nigeria Police force.

    The CEO of Ruzu Herbal Products and Services Ltd,makers of the Ruzu Herbal range of products,Dr Uzu Onyemachi Roberts described the monarch as “a representation of our cultural heritage” and commended his role in preserving Igbo identity.

    Dr Uzu who is one of the sponsors of the 2025 New yam/Cultural festival stated that the company decided to partner with the event because the festival provides a platform to showcase indigenous culture.

    He noted that the company is happy to be one of the sponsors of the event, following a three-year partnership with Eze Chika Nwokedi, and affirmed that the monarch is one of the Ruzu brand’s ambassadors who’s been very effective in promoting the products.

    “Eze Chika Nwokedi who is one of our brand ambassador represents a rich cultural heritage and our goal is to showcase the potential in Igbo culture.”he said

    Ambassador Pst. Mrs Tessy Chika Nwokedi, the Ugoeze of Ijegun/ Ijeododo emphasize on the importance of parents and guardians teaching their children culture and traditions, advising them about the dangers in a child not learning its traditions and customs so that their children will know their birthplace to prevent them from losing their roots.

    Pastor Tessy also discussed the correlation between decorating the wives of title chiefs according to culture and traditions, stating that it is important to note that the adornment of a Lolo is a sign of respect given to a wife for being an enabler of her husband’s good achievement.

    Another award recipient,Chief Ginikachukwu Onwuzuruike(The Prophet) expressed gratitude to God almighty for the opportunity and honor giving to him, while thanking Eze Ambassador Nwokedi for the award which he described as “grace to do more”.

    Chief Ginikachukwu Onwuzuruike (The Prophet)went further to state that God will continually protect and provide for Eze Nwokedi and his family for impacting into the lives of the less privilegeed, widows and those in need.

    Speaking on the award giving to him, Chief Ginikachukwu Onwuzuruike (The Prophet) said that it is an opportunity to increase and extend more hands to the less privilegeed.

    Investigator news gathered that this year’s New yam/Cultural festival took a different tune as Eze Ambassador C.C Nwokedi splashed gift items worth millions of naira raging from bag of rice, wrappers, wristwatch, duvet, traditional walking stick to over 50 people including members of the press present.

    The ceremony also witnessed award presentation to distinguished personalities who have contributed immensely by impacting lives among whom are High Chief Aloysius Nnamdi Ikegwuoni (Bishop of Ozubulu), Lolo Chizoba Okoli, Adaigbo di ora nma ( Treasurer Eze Okpoko Cabinet), Mr Ngbe Kelechi Nelson ( Chairman of Ndi Igbo Bi Na Ijeododo), Dr Ogechi Nwunze Anthony, High Chief Sir Chukwuma Ohabueze ( Akubuntutu 1 of Okija), Obinna Emeka (Don JP), Chief Dr Godwin Anaeme Eze ( Onyekachukwu na ozubulu Akajiofor 1 of Ijegun Ijeododo, Chairman Eze Okpoko Palace Chiefs).

    Ahead of the 2026 election of who occupies the office of the President General Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Emmanuel Ubah (Otunba Ojoto)has continued to received more endorsement, prayers and support from individuals and various stakeholders.

    On Tuesday 16, September 2025,the Eze Ndigbo of Ikeja,HRH Eze Uche Dimgba, Okpotemba (Eze Udo 1 of Ikeja)endorsed the aspiration of Chief Emmanuel Ubah as President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.

    The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) South West Region has unveiled the organizing committees for the 1st South West International Tourism Expo 2025.

    The expo is scheduled to take place on December 5th and 6th, 2025, at the Lagos Airport Hotel.

    In a press release signed by the Vice President ATPN South West Region,Hon. Apata Samvson Nunayon, stated that the event is expected to bring together thousands of stakeholders, driving growth, fostering collaboration, and unlocking new opportunities in the South West Tourism Space.

    Apata went further to state that five committees have been established to ensure the success of the expo, including the Central Organizing Committee, Corporate Relations and Expo Engagement Committee, Publicity and Content Creation Committee, Delegate Services Committee, and Welfare Committee.

    Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State joined the people of Omor in Ayamelum local government to celebrate the traditional New Yam Festival, reaffirming his commitment to the community’s development.

    The Governor and members of his entourage were warmly received by the Traditional Ruler, Igwe Chris Oranu, at his palace.

    Speaking to the mammoth crowd who came to receive him,Governor Soludo highlighted significant developments under his administration, including the ongoing construction of a 30-kilometer stretch of road and the establishment of 11 primary health centers and one smart school in Omor.

    He emphasized the importance of infrastructure in enhancing connectivity and access to various communities, particularly Ayamelum, which he noted has the largest land mass in the state.

    “I’ll leave with the blessings of the day,” Governor Soludo expressed, warmly embracing the local customs and the spirit of camaraderie in the air.

    He conveyed his gratitude for the unwavering support he has received from the people of Omor, recalling his initial experience in the community when he first ran for office of the Governor. “Omor showed me extraordinary love before now, and I will continue to reciprocate,” he stated.

    He assured the community of further projects in the pipeline, stating “a lot of things will still come.”

    “We have established 11 primary health centers and one of the smart schools in Omor out of the twenty-two,” he revealed.

    Soludo emphasized his commitment to fulfilling promises made during the gubernatorial campaigns, including addressing requests for recruitment in areas such as education.

    “We can do quite a whole lot for Ayamelum and Anambra state. I am very particular about those forgotten and left behind,” Soludo concluded, solidifying his commitment to inclusive governance

    The Traditional Ruler, Igwe Chris Oranu, expressed support for Soludo’s administration, urging for continued partnership and more dividends for the community.

    “The people of Omor want more dividends from your administration,” he added, urging for continued partnership.

    Igwe Oranu also distanced himself and the community from negative online sentiments against the government, stating,

    “We are not ready to fight the government,” highlighting the deep-rooted ties and contributions Omor has had to various governmental roles in the past.

    The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) South West Region, in collaboration with Eko Destination Ltd, has announced the official unveiling of the 1st South West International Tourism Expo 2025.

    In a press release signed by the National Vice President of ATPN  South West Region,Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, stated that the event is scheduled to take place on December 5th-6th, 2025, at Lagos Airport Hotel, Lagos.

    Investigator news reports that the event which is themed “Exploring the Power of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) in Driving Grassroots Development through Strategic Collaboration.”,is aimed to promote regional tourism excellence, showcase investment opportunities, foster strategic collaborations, and advance community-based tourism.

    The two-day event will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, exhibitions, and award ceremonies.

    Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon went further to invite all stakeholders, including governors, commissioners, Local Government Chairmen, investors, and tourism professionals, to join in shaping the future of tourism in the South West region.

    The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Seyi Jakande, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Taiwo Ogungbe, was joined by Hon. Tunbosun Aruwe, the Executive Chairman of Mushin LG, to celebrate this year’s Ìsẹ̀ṣè Day.

    In his continued belief and support for African traditional religion, the Mayor of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, has rejoiced with the Paramount Ruler of Isolo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Isa Abiodun Olakunle Adejuwon Faronbi-Shekoni Mobadenle Arolagbade III, on the occasion of this year’s Ìṣẹ̀ṣé Day Celebration.

    Olasoju described the day as a moment to pause and specially acknowledge and celebrate our tradition, culture, and proud heritage as Africans and descendants of Oduduwa, particularly.

    “I’m thrilled to rejoice with our paramount ruler and royal father, the custodian of our rich culture and tradition, His Royal Majesty Oba Isa Abiodun Olakunle Adejuwon Faronbi-Shekoni, on this joyous day of Ìṣẹ̀ṣé Celebration.

    Africanism is our true identity; it’s our culture and way of life. May I, through our Royal father, extend my regards to worshippers of various gods and deities for their enduring efforts in preserving our heritage and seeing to its promotion.

    “As a government, we will continue to lend our unwavering support to the sustenance and promotion of our indigenous culture and religion. Beyond the festivity, Ìṣẹ̀ṣé is a reminder of the values that bind us as a people, respect for the divine, and pride in our heritage.

    “We shall continue to encourage interfaith harmony, while ensuring that traditional worshippers enjoy equal recognition and respect as adherents of sister faiths,” Olasoju assured.

    The Mayor went further to pray for peace, prosperity, and growth in Isolo Kingdom and Lagos State at large, urging all residents to uphold values that strengthen communal bonds and preserve the legacies of our forebears.

    He concluded by admonishing all worshippers to go about their celebrations within the ambit of morality and modesty.
