The Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), has extended a warm welcome to pupils and students of Ejigbo as they resume for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Aare went further to state that the LCDA has commenced securing the compound housing seven primary schools with a befitting fence, modern gate, and functional borehole.
The Chairman emphasized the importance of motivated teachers in building great children and assured that the LCDA is committed to their welfare as he aims to raise a generation of leaders that Ejigbo and Lagos State will be proud of.

The Chairman Emeritus of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, popularly known as “Dullar,” has once again demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of the community by distributing a Back to School package to pupils in all 18 primary schools in Somolu.
The package includes school bags, notebooks, water bottles, and other writing and drawing tools, aiming to equip pupils for the new academic session.

He noted that a society that neglects its youth is destined to fail, stating that his administration has made it a duty to assist the parents and guardians—through the distribution of essential Back-to-School materials to the pupils in all the 27 public primary schools Odi-Olowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, including the students attending special needs school.

He called on residents of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye to take the advantage of the voters registration ongoing that as government he has ensured that the process is seamless by providing centers at various ward for free registration and also ensure that they are taking to Mushin local government for data capturing at no cost.
Reacting on the issue that parents were required to present their voter’s card or VCR slip for their children to benefit,he said “Our people should take their PVC seriously. It is a valid ID document that every citizen from the age of 18 must have. The main reason is to encourage our people to register and obtain their voter’s card, and the council will make it mandatory to possess a voter’s card before benefiting from government programmes,”
Responding on behalf of the children, Master David Daniel from Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye primary school thanked the Executive Chairman,Hon Seyi Jakande for the support giving to them, while assuring him that the children would make him proud and be a good role model to their family and the community at large.

The Federal Government has released a revised national curriculum for junior and senior secondary schools, introducing subjects in digital literacy, programming, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship.
The curriculum is scheduled to take effect from September 2025.
According to the Ministry of Education, digital literacy and basic entrepreneurship will now be compulsory for students at the junior secondary level.
The reforms also include coding and robotics as part of the foundational courses to expose students early to technology-driven problem solving.
For senior secondary students, the new subjects will expand to cover programming, artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity, alongside existing core subjects.
Officials said the review was designed to align Nigeria’s education system with global trends and equip students with skills relevant to a modern economy.
The curriculum overhaul follows calls from industry stakeholders for schools to produce graduates with competencies in technology, creativity, and enterprise.
