  • Buhari urges Gbajabiamila to continue serving Nigeria on his 60th birthday

Buhari urges Gbajabiamila to continue serving Nigeria on his 60th birthday

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, to continue to be as patriotic to Nigeria as he has always been.

President Buhari commended Gbajabiamila for his service to the nation and urged him to continue doing so in any way he could. He said that in his capacity as Speaker of the House of Representatives, he had positively influenced how the public views the relationship between the legislative branch and the executive.
On Saturday, during a special prayer service held in the Speaker’s honour at the Ansar-Ud-Deen Central Mosque in Wuse 2, Abuja, in honour of his 60th birthday anniversary.

President Buhari was represented by his chief of staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, who claimed that the president had instructed him to wish the Speaker a happy 60th birthday. Prof. Gambari also noted that President Buhari has always supported free and fair elections, which is why he was pleased when Tinubu won the election as the APC’s presidential flag-bearer in such a process.

“I’m sending you a message from the President to wish you a happy 60th birthday. He wants you to keep doing good work for the country, too,” he said.
The National Assembly should “be antagonistic to the Executive,” according to some, but Gambari claimed that the House of Representatives under Gbajabiamila has ensured a good working relationship with the Executive branch.

He added that President Buhari wanted to reassure Nigerians that he had no plans to flout the law to extend his term in office.

Prof. Gambari said that President Buhari also wanted to reaffirm his support for the goal of a peaceful and united Nigeria.
For his part, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, was referred to as a patriotic Nigerian who uses his position to advance good governance by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a candidate for the party’s presidential nomination.

As the National Leader of the APC, Tinubu asserted that through the Legislature, Gbajabiamila will be able to have a positive impact on Nigerians’ lives.

In order to better serve Nigeria, the APC presidential candidate prayed that God would continue to favour the Speaker and give him long life and wisdom.

“May God keep you healthy, forever. May He also grant your requests to Him. We cannot overcome the leadership problem on our own; only God can set us on the right course and lead us all the way through life.

God bless you with good health so you can work for Nigeria. You must make your way through a challenging country. May Allah grant us, in His infinite mercy, the stability and peace necessary for us to govern, as well as the love we have for one another and the patriotism that will make us proud of our nation.

Allah be with and guide the Speaker, Dr. Musa Olaofe, the Chief Imam of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Mosque prayed during the prayers for Gbajabiamila.

Nigeria is difficult to govern because of its nature, according to Dr. Olaofe, who delivered a brief lecture on leadership, good governance, and tolerance.

However, he asserted, there will be good governance with good leadership, and he urged Nigerians to be tolerant of one another for genuine advancement.

He observed that Gbajabiamila is a unifier because he gathered people from various parts of the nation to work with him.

The Speaker, according to Imam Olaofe, exemplifies how Muslims are urged by the Qur’an to be kind and forgiving toward all people.

In his remarks of appreciation, Gbajabiamila thanked the president for his kind words and for sending his Chief of Staff to the prayer meeting.

The Speaker added that God, through Tinubu, had helped him and many others, both politically and otherwise, and that he owed this to the Almighty Allah.

Gbajabiamila expressed gratitude to both Salamatu, his wife, who organised the prayer session, and his mother, Hajiya Lateefat Olufunke Gbajabiamila, for raising him in a moral manner.

“I’d like to start by thanking the president through the COS. I’d like to thank my donor as well. Many think that all power belongs to Allah, no matter where you are.

But Allah doesn’t descend to bestow authority on you. He steers and commands you. He then told me to go see Asiwaju. He did it to me as well as others besides just me. May Allah, the Most High, keep you endowed with this extremely rare ability.

He expressed gratitude to his House colleagues for their support and cooperation in helping him fulfil his duties as first among equals.

A large number of dignitaries, including the Special Adviser to the President, Alh. Yau Darazo, numerous House members, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, and Dele Belgore (SAN), among others, attended the prayer session.

  • Osun 2022: ‘Davido shedding crocodile tears over vote-buying’

Osun 2022: ‘Davido shedding crocodile tears over vote-buying’

On Friday, young people affiliated with The Osun Young Professionals Network claimed that Afrobeat superstar David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, was lying about his opposition to vote-buying in the run-up to the July 16th, 2022, Osun governor election.

When the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Abiodun Oyebanji, won the Ekiti guber election, Davido, a cousin of PDP candidate Senator Ademola Adeleke, responded, he said, “Nobody can buy Osun voters.”

In the meantime, the PDP candidate who is Davido’s cousin boasted in public that he has the dollars, pounds, euros, and naira necessary to pursue his ambition to become the state’s governor in 2022, according to Wale Bakare, the convener of the youth professionals in technology and entrepreneurship.

“It is ridiculous that the same family that boasted about buying votes is now raising a red flag about vote-buying. Davido is merely crying crocodile tears and raising a phony alarm about vote-buying. He stated that young people in the state oppose buying votes in the Osun State governor election.

Bakare continued, “We have a role to play in the growth and development of our beloved State, and one of our duties is to make sure that Our State is governed by someone who has the necessary character and competence. This is due to the fact that governance is a serious endeavor that cannot be left in the care of amateurs and opportunists. Adegboyega Oyetola, the governor, is still the best candidate, in our opinion.

Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration says a top-notch tourism and recreation park will be constructed at Agulu Lake in the state’s Anaocha Local Government Area, according to Hon. Don Onyenji, the Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment.

He added that there are many things in the tourism sector that are still unknown and that the Soludo administration would reveal. He said the governor is passionate about the project because it is in line with the vision and mission to create a liveable, lovable, and prosperous new Anambra that is conducive and hospitable for everyone.
The Commissioner stated that the current state government is working horizontally and vertically across all sectors of the Anambra economy and that the government is already succeeding. The Commissioner added that the Soludo administration is bringing huge surprises. Onyenji also suggested that the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, the National Tourism Development Commission, and the National Museums and Monuments had sent representatives to the ministry to visit the Ogbunike Cafe in the Oyi local government area of the state and attest to its appeal on a global scale and potential for financial gain.

He claimed that more has been done to make Ogbunike Cafe a UNICEF global heritage site so that people from all over the world could visit and appreciate the cafe’s gift from nature as a top travel destination.

Once more, he asserted that the growth of the state’s tourist attractions would create jobs for the local populace, increase tax revenue, and—most importantly—bring leisure and adventure travelers from around the globe to Anambra state.

Wande Coal is called out for beating up Lagos residents

Wande Coal, a Nigerian singer, has been charged with assaulting a Lagos State resident.

Wande Coal and his team allegedly assaulted his elder brother, according to @Folarin AA on Twitter.

His brother, whose name was not revealed, was allegedly slapped and beaten mercilessly while attempting to get his car out of the way of Wande Coal.

“You’re a b**tard Wande Coal and you wouldn’t get away with what you did to my brother this evening,” he wrote on Twitter. “My elder brother called me subbing like a child because you and your gang beat him mercilessly simply because his vehicle was in your way.”

“This b**tard and his gang demanded that my brother remove his vehicle so that they could move; my brother agreed and went to get his car keys; however, as soon as he approached his car to open it, one of them slapped him, and before he could say anything else, another punched him.

“I’ve never been so enraged in my life.” My older brother referred to me as a child subbing. They thrashed him so badly that he was inconsolably crying. “Who do you think you are?” enquires the narrator.

He promised Wande Coal that he would not get away with such mistreatment.

“My brother has a swollen face and a black eye and is in tears. All because of what, exactly? My brother is the most laid-back individual I’ve ever met. He always tries to stay out of trouble, so I’m pretty sure he didn’t do anything to deserve to be treated that way. “You’re not going to get away with it,” he said.

However, as of the time of filing this report, Wande Coal or his management had yet to confirm or deny the allegations.

  • Mbaka vs. Peter Obi: Holy Spirit does not vote, so get your PVC – Cubana Chief-Priest

Mbaka vs. Peter Obi: Holy Spirit does not vote, so get your PVC – Cubana Chief-Priest

Rev. father Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest, described Presidential candidate Peter Obi as a stingy man, which sparked outrage.

Mbaka stated during his most recent visit to the Adoration ministry in Enugu State that Obi cannot be Nigeria’s president unless he seeks God’s forgiveness.

He believes that having an old man as Nigeria’s next president is preferable to having a’stingy man.’

In response to Mbaka’s statement, popular Instagram celebrity Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chiefpriest, urged Nigerians to get their PVCs, adding that the Holy Spirit does not vote.

“Mr. Money with the vibes right now,” Cubana wrote alongside a photo of Father Mbaka on his Instagram page. Wake up, don’t sleep, and collect your money.

“Please get your PVC, Holy Spirit no Dey vote,” says the narrator.

Meanwhile, Mbaka’s political comments have been distanced from the Catholic Church.

Mbaka’s inflammatory political comments, according to the Auxiliary Bishop of Enugu, Rev Ernest Obodo, were divisive and violated the Canon Law, which prohibits anyone from illegitimately harming a person’s good name.

Moses Armstrong, Nollywood actor, was arrested for allegedly raping 16-year-old girl

Moses Armstrong, a well-known Nollywood actor and singer, was apprehended by Akwa Ibom State Police Command officers for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl.
The national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, confirmed his detention during a discussion and described the case as “extremely severe.”

Martha Udom Emmanuel, the state’s First Lady, is overseeing it through her Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path Initiative, he said.

The indictment was a sad event, according to the AGN president, because it included one of their own.

He did say, however, that such a crime would be unacceptable to the organisation.

“I and the organisation I represent would not support being engaged with a youngster as young as 16 years old.”

“This is a very unfortunate development regarding one of our members,” he said.

Armstrong was a Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State till his incarceration.

In 2018, he lost Rita Armstrong, his wife and coworker.

Rita died of spinal cord damage acquired in an accident, according to sources.

On Saturday, February 3, 2018, the mother of two was driving back from Lagos to her husband’s home in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

  • CKAY is set to release a new single “Watawi”

CKAY is set to release a new single “Watawi”

Following the success of his singles ‘Emiliana’ and ‘Love Nwantiti,’ as well as his international performances, CKay returns with WATAWI, a collaboration with fellow Nigerian superstar Davido and South Africa’s Amapiano new school cool kids, Focalistic and Abidoza.

CKay’s career streams have topped 3 billion, and his first two US gigs were recently sold out.

WATAWI is another opportunity for CKay to captivate the ears and hearts of his fans around the world, with Love ‘Nwantiti’ breaking multiple records, including being the most streamed song globally on Spotify and Emiliana once receiving over 700,000 Spotify streams in a single day.
Multi-platinum musicians Davido of Nigeria and Focalistic of South Africa’s Amapiano are featured on this new hit produced by Abidoza. Davido tunes in with his smooth flow while Abidoza puts his Midas touch to the beat.

18 bars of Sipotori rap saved by Focalistic (a language which blends various languages, popular in the townships of Pretoria).

The soulful Amapiano production is complimented by CKay’s vocals and distinctive layered harmonies, which propel the song on a catchy sing along. WATAWI / what are we? is a prominent topic in modern relationships, and the song addresses it in its lyrics. The situation is described by CKay, Davido, and Focalistic through the smoothest of melodies, as they make it obvious to their respective ladies that no labels are required for who they are.

“A lot of individuals have been in difficult situations where their “situationship” tries to push things further than they need to be,” CKay says of WATAWI’s story. “Sometimes it’s preferable to just let things be and vibe without feeling obligated to define the nature of the relationship.”

  • Georgina Onuoha urges Yul Edochie to stop justifying his indiscretion and rest

Georgina Onuoha urges Yul Edochie to stop justifying his indiscretion and rest

Georgina Onuoha, a Nollywood actress, has chastised Yul Edochie for claiming that marrying a second wife gave him favours.

In an Instagram post, Yul Edochie said that marrying a second wife was a godsend for him and his wives.

In an open letter on Instagram, Yul Edochie’s colleague Georgina Onuoha claimed Yul Edochie still has no acceptable cause for marrying another woman without the approval of his first wife May, and urged him to stop bringing up his polygamous concerns on social media.
“I appreciate that you recognised you harmed your wife, May @mayyuledochie,” she wrote.
“I also don’t recall hearing that marrying a second wife is a crime.” This is permissible in our culture, and some Christians have multiple wives. There’s a reason why it’s said that “procedure and intent are both important.”

“It’s one thing to conceive another woman (adultery) while still married, without sharing your wish to marry a second wife with your wife, as our customs require.”

“Given that you’re invoking our polygamy customs, have you forgotten that such engagements are governed by rules?”

“Most of us are descended from polygamous parents. Who is going to tell you that their moms brought the new wife home for their husbands as a proof of her blessings?”
“I’m sure you’re aware of our traditions and culture.” Taking a second wife while still married is not honourable; it is termed adultery, and God has punished most of the great individuals in the Bible you are quoting for such deeds.”

“The worst type of breach of trust is marrying the same lady without your wife’s knowledge until she discovers it on social media via a blog.” What you did, Eyin, was anything but honourable. When they aren’t ready, you don’t force them into polygamy. Make a choice for them. “Polygamy isn’t for everyone.”

“So you failed both historically and biblically.”

“Don’t use religion and tradition to excuse your wrongdoings. You failed on both accounts. Our father in faith, Abraham, received permission from his wife Sarah to sleep with Hagar, the slave girl.”

“When David slept with Bethsheba and killed their firstborn child as a result of their infidelity, God punished him.” There are several examples of adultery and its ramifications in the Bible.”

“What you did did not glorify our culture and customs since you did it with impunity and complete contempt for your wife’s humanity.” I’m sure you wouldn’t be singing the same song about obtaining greater popularity and her getting endorsement if the tables were changed.”
