    In a show of support, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo visited Iyiowa Odekpe in Ogbaru Council Area, where he was greeted with enthusiastic cheers from local residents.

    The visit, which focused on inspecting the area’s critical infrastructure, highlighted the pressing need for improvements in road conditions.

    Starting his tour along the dilapidated New Road, the Governor made his way through Ihitenansa and onto Asha Road, where he openly acknowledged the poor state of the roads.

    During his inspection, he assured the gathered crowd that necessary repairs would be prioritized, emphasizing a commitment to address the community’s infrastructure challenges.

    As he continued his tour, the Governor got to School Road, which he classified as an “emergency situation needing urgent attention.” His remarks reflected the urgency that residents have felt about the worsening conditions affecting daily transportation and access to essential services in the area.

    The Governor’s visit also took him to St. Gregory Catholic Church, Iyiowa Odekpe where he shared heartfelt reflections on his political journey.

    He recalled how Ogbaru was one of the three local government areas that kept his hopes alive during his gubernatorial campaign in 2010. Despite initial efforts focusing on the construction of the Nkisi Atani to Ozubulu road, Okpoko transformation, he acknowledged the community’s repeated requests for attention regarding Iyiowa Odekpe.

    Reiterating his dedication to the welfare of the common man, the Governor highlighted the past security challenges faced by Ogbaru as one of the eight local government areas, which were once considered troubled areas when he took office.

    He revealed ongoing concerns about local security, citing intelligence reports that indicated a regrouping of criminal elements within the hinterlands of Ogbaru.

    He reassured the community of an intensified effort to combat these security challenges, pledging that the government would not relent in its fight against crime.

    The Governor’s visit garnered commendations from community leaders, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, who praised the Governor’s unwavering commitment to developing all areas of Anambra, including its more remote regions. Similarly, the Mayor of Ogbaru Council Area, Sir Kenneth Akwuobi, expressed gratitude for the Governor’s dedication to the community.

    Mr. Noble Igwe, the Member representing Ogbaru Constituency One, also voiced his confidence in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), asserting it as the party to beat ahead of the upcoming elections on November 8, 2025.

    As the Governor concluded his visit, the warm reception he received underscored the community’s support and hope for meaningful change and development in Iyiowa Odekpe and the greater Ogbaru area.

    The promise of infrastructural improvements along with enhanced security efforts indicates a proactive approach towards fostering progress and stability within the community.

    The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) wishes to register its voice and commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold, deliberate, and unmatched commitment to inclusive governance since assuming office on May 29, 2023.

    We observed with dismay the recent efforts of the disillusioned opposition to change the narrative of an unprecedented inclusivity in governance across the various sectors including appointments, gender balancing, youth inclusiveness and the spread of infrastructures across the various regions.

    Two years into his administration, it is evident that President Tinubu has gone beyond the limitations of ethnic, religious, regional, gender, and partisan lines to offer Nigeria a leadership style rooted in fairness, representation, and meritocracy.

    A Truly Representative Cabinet

    From the outset, President Tinubu made it abundantly clear that his government would be a true reflection of the Nigerian federation.

    His cabinet — one of the most diverse and competent in the country’s democratic history — has ensured that all six geopolitical zones are equitably represented, not in name alone, but through meaningful, impactful participation.

    Women now occupy central roles in shaping national policy, and persons from minority and historically marginalized communities have been appointed to positions that reflect the dignity and value of every Nigerian life.

    A Presidency Above Partisanship

    Perhaps one of the most commendable aspects of President Tinubu’s leadership is his willingness to reach across the aisle.

    In appointing competent Nigerians from opposition parties, civil society, and the private sector, the President has shown that governance is not about partisanship but progress.

    This inclusive strategy has fostered a national climate of collaboration, idea-driven policymaking, and renewed public trust. It sends a clear message: Nigeria belongs to all of us.

    Empowering the Youth, Embracing Innovation

    President Tinubu’s administration has also opened the doors of leadership to the younger generation. With several appointments of individuals under 40 into strategic roles, the administration is not only recognizing youth capacity but structurally empowering them to help shape the Nigeria of the future.

    “it is evident that President Tinubu has gone beyond the limitations of ethnic, religious, regional, gender, and partisan lines to offer Nigeria a leadership style rooted in fairness, representation, and meritocracy.”

    This youthful inclusion is particularly significant in sectors like technology, entertainment, renewable energy, and the digital economy, where innovation is driving development.

    Despite early concerns about the religious composition of the APC ticket, President Tinubu has proven his critics wrong through deliberate and balanced governance.

    Christians and Muslims alike have been appointed to sensitive and strategic positions, and federal resources are being allocated equitably across all states, regardless of faith or political leaning.

    The fears of exclusion have been replaced by evidence of fairness and secular-minded leadership — a testament to the President’s commitment to a united Nigeria.

    Inclusion as a Cornerstone of Development

    From infrastructural projects spanning all regions, to targeted social programs for rural dwellers, women, persons with disabilities, and the underserved, this administration has shown that inclusivity is not a slogan — it is a strategy for national development.

    Projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri Rail Line, and the Kaduna Dry Port underscore a vision of shared prosperity for all Nigerians.

    Conclusion

    The Lagos APC is proud to associate with a President who is setting new standards for inclusive governance in Nigeria. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is building a Nigeria where every citizen, regardless of tribe, tongue, or faith, feels seen, heard, and valued.

    In an era where many democracies are struggling with division, the Tinubu administration stands as proof that unity can be built — not by slogans — but through shared opportunity, merit-based leadership, and inclusive national planning.

    The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has directed all Commissioners and highest-ranking political appointees in each Local Government Area (LGA) to return to their respective LGAs to carry out official duties and lead grassroots mobilisation for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

    This directive, which takes effect from Monday, September 1, 2025, aims to deepen grassroots governance and ensure massive voter participation in the electoral process.

    According to the circular, all the appointees of government are to participate in the exercise under the coordination of the highest ranking appointee from each Local Government.

    Investigator news reports that all appointees are expected to coordinate registration mobilisation efforts at the ward level and submit a comprehensive report detailing the number of new voters registered

    The governor emphasized that the era of governance being conducted solely from the state capital must give way to direct engagement with the people at the grassroots.

    He noted that government officials must remain accessible and responsive to the needs of their communities, noting that any appointee who wishes to leave their LGA during this period must obtain prior written approval from the Secretary to the State Government, or face disciplinary action.

    Investigator news gathered that the directive is expected to strengthen grassroots governance and ensure that government officials remain accessible and responsive to the needs of their communities.

    By mobilising for the CVR exercise, the administration aims to increase voter participation and deepen democracy in Kogi State.

    In a significant milestone for medical education in Kogi State,the Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has received full approval from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) to commence its Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme.

    This development comes after a successful two-day advisory visit by MDCN officials to the university.

    With this development shortly after the National Universities Commission (NUC) re-approved the MBBS program,PAAU has now secured full approval from MDCN to commence its MBBS programme, paving the way for the university to admit its first cohort of 50 medical students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

    The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams, confirmed this on Thursday, highlighting it as a major victory for healthcare and medical education in the state.

    “This approval by MDCN is a game-changer. It marks the reactivation of medical training in PAAU and reinforces the state government’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare education.

    “We appreciate the political support from the Chief Servant of Kogi State to make this a reality. Kogi is on track to become the epicenter of medical education in Nigeria.”he said

    Dr. Adams also noted that this achievement follows the already running MBBS programme at Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, where the first cohort is currently in session.

    He hinted at further expansion, revealing that the next destination for an MBBS program is Kogi State University (KSU), Kabba.

    “This is a strategic push. First CUSTECH, now PAAU, and very soon KSU Kabba. We’re building a future where Kogi will not just produce doctors, but will become a centre of excellence in healthcare delivery and education,” he submitted

    The reinstatement of the PAAU MBBS programme is expected to strengthen the state’s capacity to train more doctors locally, address healthcare workforce shortages, and improve the overall health outcomes for the people of Kogi State.

    “Health is everything. We shall do more,” Dr. Adams assured

    The Commissioner went further to thank the University community led by the Vice Chancellor, the Prince Abubakar Audu University Teaching Hospital community, the Ministry of Education and all the Stakeholders that made the feat a reality

    The Imo State Commissioner For Youth Development and Talent Hunt,Hon. Dr. Emeka Mandela,has extolled Governor Hope Uzodinma for his bold move to enhance the living standards of Imo State workers.

    In a release signed by his media aide,Admin (Amb.) Chukwuebuka Udeagha, Mandela stated that the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of Imo State workers is evident in these bold moves, and the 3R Administration’s giant strides and outstanding achievements, prioritizing youths, have brought relief and joy to many, earning praise from many Imolites.

    Recall that Governor Uzodinma has announced a significant increase in the minimum wage to N104,000 for civil servants.

    This progressive move also extends to healthcare professionals and academics. Doctors’ new entry point salary has been raised to N582,000, and lecturers’ new entry point salary is set at N222,000.

    These increments are expected to boost the morale and productivity of workers in the state.

    Furthermore, Governor Uzodinma has assured senior citizens and pensioners that the next batch of gratuities will start receiving payments immediately.

    The Kogi State government has demonstrated its commitment to improving the health and well-being of its citizens by expanding access to healthcare through its health insurance scheme.

    According to the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo,in a press statement stated that the policy is designed to reduce poverty and provide affordable, quality healthcare to citizens.

    “Health insurance is one of the most effective ways of lifting people out of medical poverty. By bringing our people into the scheme, we’re not just making healthcare accessible; the governor is also showing that the government cares about the well-being of the people.”

    He noted that the government is investing in medical education and infrastructure, including the construction of student hostels, doctors’ quarters, and medical laboratory complexes.

    These investments will not only improve the quality of healthcare but also provide opportunities for medical students and young doctors to develop their skills

    “At the College of Science, Technology and Health (CUSTECH-TH), Okene, construction is ongoing on two blocks of student hostels for both male and female medical students, as well as two blocks of doctors’ quarters.

    “Similarly, at the Prince Abubakar Audu University Teaching Hospital (PAAUTH), Anyigba, work has commenced on a multi-purpose medical laboratory complex, classrooms, a library, and consultants’ blocks.

    “In Lokoja, the state government has approved the construction of House Officers’ Quarters at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital (KSSH) to improve training and welfare for young doctors.

    “To strengthen healthcare delivery across all levels, the government has also embarked on the massive production and distribution of Health Data Tools (NHMIS Data Tools) for Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs), as well as secondary and tertiary health facilities.

    This will guarantee adequate capturing of service data into the national platform (DHIS2), in line with best practices,” he said.

    The commissioner added that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, is determined to consolidate on existing gains by investing in people, structures, and systems that will make healthcare in Kogi State both sustainable and people-centered.

    The Kogi State Government has condoled with the family and friends of Professor Olu Akerejola, a distinguished son of Ogori in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, who recently passed away.

    Prof. Akerejola was a former Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and a renowned scholar who devoted his life to knowledge, service, and the pursuit of unity.

    In a press statement on Tuesday, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo,described the late academic as “a detribalised Nigerian, a great patriot who devoted his life to knowledge, service, and the pursuit of unity.”

    He noted that Akerejola’s commitment to building bridges among people and his unwavering belief in the ideals of a united Nigeria remain an indelible legacy.

    Fanwo noted that Kogi State has lost an outstanding son whose intellect, humility, and passion for development brought pride to the State, assuring that the government stands with the Akerejola family, the Ogori/Magongo community, and indeed the entire people of the State in this moment of grief.

    The Commissioner prayed that Almighty God grant the late Professor’s soul eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

    The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar,on 25 August 2025, held a high-level bilateral meeting with his Brazilian counterpart, Mr José Múcio Monteiro Filho, in Brasília on the sidelines of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit to Brazil.

    Also present in attendance was General Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Brazilian Armed Forces.

    The meeting focused on strengthening defence relations, advancing defence-industrial cooperation, and enhancing maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea, among other defence-related issues.

    The Minister underscored Nigeria’s commitment to the full implementation of the Nigeria-Brazil Defence Agreement signed on 24 June 2025.

    He described the agreement as a strategic instrument for expanding collaboration, deepening technology transfer, and building industrial partnerships.

    Abubakar stressed that effective implementation is essential for both nations to maximise the value of the partnership, particularly in developing Nigeria’s local defence production capacity.

    He also underscored that closer collaboration on maritime awareness, joint exercises, and interoperability will help both countries protect vital sea routes and grow their blue economies.

    Speaking during the meeting, Minister Badaru said: “Nigeria is determined to build a resilient defence industry that reduces dependence on imports and positions our country as the defence-industrial hub in Africa.

    He added. “Brazil’s experience and technological depth make it a trusted partner, but our priority is to move from agreements to action, with clear timelines and measurable results that benefit both nations.”

    Badaru Abubakar also commended Brazil’s support in securing the Gulf of Guinea, a maritime corridor central to Nigeria’s economic lifeline, and acknowledged its constructive role in advancing the objectives of the South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone (ZOPACAS).

    He highlighted that sustained cooperation in maritime security, counterterrorism, and defence-industrial innovation aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which places national security and self-reliance at the core of Nigeria’s development strategy.

    Both ministers agreed to establish a structured defence dialogue framework to ensure continuity, accountability, and tangible outcomes.

    Investigator news gathered that the engagement reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to a forward-looking partnership with Brazil, reinforcing bilateral ties and Nigeria’s leadership in regional and transatlantic security cooperation.
