    Soludo Mourns Rev Dr Uma Ukpai.

    The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has today expressed profound sorrow over the transition of one of Nigeria’s most revered Christian leaders, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.

    In his condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburime,Governor Soludo described the death of the legendary preacher, renowned evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association as a monumental loss to Nigeria, and the entire body of Christ worldwide.

    Governor Soludo eulogised Rev. Ukpai as a true father of faith, a spiritual giant, and a fearless gospel crusader whose life was a testimony to the power of faith, devotion, and uncompromising service to God and humanity.

    He noted that Rev. Dr. Ukpai was not just a preacher; he was a pivotal institution in Christian evangelism, national uprightness, and the Nigerian Pentecostal movement.

    “For decades, his powerful voice echoed across continents, bringing salvation, healing, and hope to millions of people.”

    “The story of modern Christianity in Nigeria and across Africa can not be complete without the indelible impact of Rev. Ukpai, through his crusades, theological teachings, and the establishment of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association dedicated to winning souls for Christ.”he said

    Soludo went further to extend his sincere condolences to the immediate family of the late evangelist, the entire Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, and the Christian community in Nigeria, praying that God would grant his soul eternal rest and give his family the solace to bear the monumental loss.

    Kogi West Leaders Endorse Tinubu, Ododo For Continuity and Progress

    The Kogi West FGYB Legacy Group, a coalition of stakeholders from the seven Local Government Areas of Kogi West Senatorial District, has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term in office.

    The endorsement was made in a Communique jointly signed and read by its Drafting Committee Chairman, Kingsley Olorunfemi Fanwo; Secretary, Barr. Tanko Mohammed; and Member, Hon. Shaibu Ipinmisho on behalf of the group issued at the end of a strategic meeting held in Kabba, Kogi State, on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

    The group cited President Tinubu’s bold economic reforms, efforts towards energy stability, and massive infrastructural development across the nation as reasons for their endorsement

    Governor Ododo’s impactful leadership and remarkable achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare delivery, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, and humanitarian development were also cited as reasons for the endorsement.

    The group pledged over 90% of the votes from Kogi West Senatorial District in future elections and called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and citizens to support government efforts towards restoring and sustaining peace across Kogi State.

    The stakeholders particularly lauded the Governor’s strategic approach to tackling security challenges across the State, especially in Kogi West, and for fostering peace and stability in all communities.

    The Group went further to hail the Governor for the ongoing and completed projects across Kogi West Senatorial District.

    According to the group, the projects include, the Kogi State University, Kabba, the Model Secondary School, Okebukun, and the Township Road reconstruction projects in Mopa and Ayetoro Gbede.

    They also commended the take-off of projects at the U.K-funded College of Education (Technical), Mopa.

    The stakeholders expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s personal visit to troubled areas and his efforts in ensuring security in the Senatorial District.

    They reaffirmed their unwavering support for the administrations of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, pledging to mobilize citizens in support of government policies.

    Investigator news reports that the meeting commended security agencies for supporting Governor in ensuring security in District. Local hunters also commended for complementing security agencies in Kogi West.

    They resolved that leaders of every LGA in Kogi West should mobilise people to participate in Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), and commended the stakeholders’ turnout.

    The APC Chairman, Kogi State, Hon., Abdullahi Bello, in his remarks noted that the party is for progressive people with loyal leaders.

    He commended former Governor Yayaya Bello raising people at the grassroots and laid a solid foundation for the incumbent Gov Ahmed Ododo to build on.

    Bello emphasised that APC stakeholders meeting would strengthen the party in the state and the country at large.

    He urged members to be focused and united, and beware of inexperienced and self-centered politicians.

    The APC Chairman commended President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigerians urged party members sustain support for Tinubu and Gov. Ododo.

    The Commissioners: for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones; for Finance and Budget Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Idris; and for Environment and Ecological Management, Hon. Olusegun Joseph, spoke on behalf of Kabba-Bunu, Yagba East and Yagba West respectively, lauded Gov. Ododo and President Tinubu’s unprecedented achievements.

    President Bola Tinubu has pardoned Maryam Sanda, who was convicted of killing her husband, Bilyaminu Bello, in Abuja.

    Bello was the son of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Haliru Bello.

    Sanda was sentenced to death by hanging by Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in January 2020.

    She would receive the pardon after spending six years and eight months at the Suleja Medium Security Custodial Centre.

    This was revealed in a statement released on Saturday by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency said,  “Her family pleaded for her release, arguing that it was in the best interest of her two children.”

    ”The plea was also anchored on her good conduct in jail, her remorse, and her embracement of a new lifestyle, demonstrating her commitment to being a model prisoner,” the statement read.

    According to Onanuga, the gesture was made on the recommendation of the Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi (SAN).

    It also stated that the convicts were considered for clemency based on factors such as remorse, good conduct, old age, and rehabilitation through education or vocational training.

    Some inmates were recognised for their enrolment in the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), while others had demonstrated notable behavioural reform.

    Others who recived presidnetial pardons include, llegal miners, white-collar convicts, remorseful drug offenders, foreigners, Major General Mamman Vatsa, Major Akubo, Professor Magaji Garba, capital offenders such as Ken Saro-Wiwa, and the other Ogoni Eight were among the 175 convicts and former convicts.

    In a significant symbolic move, President Tinubu also approved a posthumous pardon for Sir Herbert Macaulay, correcting what he described as a “historic injustice” committed against one of Nigeria’s foremost nationalists by British colonial authorities.

    Investigator news reports that the committee’s report showed that out of the 175 beneficiaries, two inmates and 15 former convicts,11 of whom are deceased, were granted a full pardon.

    Eighty-two inmates received clemency, while the sentences of 65 inmates were commuted. Seven inmates on death row also had their sentences reduced to life imprisonment.

    Prince Fagbemi presented the committee’s report during the National Council of State meeting, chaired by President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

    The exercise, he said, aligns with the administration’s commitment to justice reform and humane correctional management, ensuring that mercy is extended to those who have shown genuine repentance and transformation.

    34. Innocent Brown Idiong, aged 60, sentenced in 2020 to 10 years for possession of 700 grams of Indian Hemp. Has already spent 4 years and 3 months at Ikot Abasi Custodial centre. Jail term reduced to six years.

    35. Iniobong Imaeyen Ntukidem, aged 46, was sentenced 2021 to seven years in jail at the Uyo Custodial Centre. Prison term reduced to five years.

    36. Ada Audu, aged 72, was sentenced in 2022 to seven years in Kuje Custodial Centre and had spent 2 years and 7 months in prison. Prison term reduced to 4 years because of old age.

    37. Bukar Adamu, aged 40 and sentenced to 20 years in 2019 for advance fee fraud. Prison term reduced to nine years.

    38. Kelvin Oniarah Ezigbe, 44, was sentenced in October 2023 to 20 years for kidnapping, which took effect in 2013. The sentence was reduced to 13 years for showing remorsefulness and attending the National Open University.

    39. Frank Azuekor, aged 42. Sentenced in 2023 for kidnapping and jailed in Kuje Custodial Centre for 20 years, and had spent 12 years behind bars from 2013. The sentence was reduced to 13 years, based on good conduct and attendance at the National Open University.

    40. Chukwukelu Sunday Calisthus, aged 47 and sentenced in 2014 to life at Kuje Custodial Centre for drugs. He had spent 11 years at Kuje. Sentence reduced to 13 years.

    41. Professor Magaji Garba, aged 67. Sentenced in 2021 to seven years for obtaining money by false pretence and had spent 3 years at Kuje Custodial Centre. The prison term was reduced to four years due to good conduct and advanced age.

    42. Markus Yusuf, aged 41. Sentenced in 2023 to 13 years for culpable homicide. Sentence reduced to 5 years based on ill-health

    43. Samson Ajayi, aged 31 and sentenced in 2022 to 15 years for drugs. He had spent five years at Suleja Custodial Centre. The sentence was reduced to seven years.

    44. Iyabo Binyoyo, aged 49. Sentenced in 2017 to 10 years for drugs and sentenced to nine years at Suleja Custodial Centre, due to good conduct.

    45. Oladele Felix, 49, was sentenced in 2022 to five years without a fine option for conspiracy and exploitation. Based on good conduct and remorsefulness, the sentence was reduced to four years. Felix is spending the term at Suleja.

    46. Rakiya Beida, aged 33 and sentenced in 2021to seven years, without a fine option, for theft and cheating. The sentence, being served at Suleja, was reduced to three years based on good conduct

    47. Nriagu Augustine Ifeanyi, aged 44 and sentenced in 2018 to 10 years in Ikoyi Custodial Centre, for exporting cocaine. The sentence was reduced to eight years.

    48. Chukwudi Destiny, aged 36 and sentenced in 2022 to six years in Ikoyi Custodial Centre for heroin import. The sentence was cut to four years.

    49. Felix Rotimi Esemokhai, aged 47 and sentenced in 2022 to five years for heroin. The sentence was reduced to four years.

    50. Major S.A. Akubo, aged 62, was sentenced in 2009 to life at Katsina Custodial Centre for illegally removing 7,000 assorted weapons. Following good conduct and remorsefulness, the sentence was commuted to 20 years.

    51. John Ibiam, aged 39, was sentenced in 2016 to 15 years for manslaughter and served 9 years and one month in the Afikpo Custodial Centre. The sentence was reduced to 10 years after the individual showed remorse and acquired vocational skills.

    52. Omoka Aja, aged 40 and sentenced in 2016 to 15 years for manslaughter, served 9 years and 1 month in Afikpo Custodial Centre. The sentence was commuted to 10 years.

    53. Chief Jonathan Alatoru, aged 66, was sentenced in 2021 to seven years for conspiracy to cheat. The sentence served in Port Harcourt Custodial Centre has been reduced to five years.

    54. Umanah Ekaette Umanah, aged 70 and sentenced in 2022 to 10 years in Port Harcourt Custodial Centre for forgery. Sentence reduced to five years due to old age and remorsefulness.

    55. Utom Obong Thomson Udoaka, 60, was sentenced in 2020 to seven years in Ikot Ekpene Custodial Centre for obtaining money by false pretence. He had served four years and two months at Ikot Ekpene. Due to his old age and good conduct, the Initial Sentence has been reduced to five years.

    56. Jude Saka Ebaragha, aged 44. Sentenced in 2020 to 12 years at Ikoyi Prison and a fine of N1million for conspiracy to hijack a fishing vessel. The sentence was commuted to six years, and the N1m fine was waived.

    57. Frank Insort Abaka, 46, was sentenced in 2020 to 12 years and a N1M fine at Ikoyi Custodial Centre for conspiracy to hijack a Fishing vessel. The sentence was reduced to six years, and the fine was waived.

    58. Shina Alolo, 42, was sentenced in 2020 to 12 years and a N1M fine at Ikoyi Custodial Centre for conspiracy to hijack a fishing vessel. Like others, the N1m fine was waived, and the sentence was reduced to 6 years.

    59. Joshua Iwiki, aged 50: Sentenced in 2020 to 12 years at Ikoyi Prison and a fine of N1M for conspiracy to hijack a fishing vessel. A N1m fine was waived, and the sentence was commuted to six years in prison.

    60. David Akinseye, aged 44: Sentenced in 2020 to 12 years & N1M fine for conspiracy to hijack a fishing vessel. His sentence was commuted to 6 years, and the fine was waived.

    61. Ahmed Toyin, aged 46: Sentenced in 2020 to 12 years & N1M fine for conspiracy to hijack a fishing vessel. Sentence also commuted and fine waived.

    62. Shobajo Saheed, age 57: Sentenced in 2020 to 12 years and a fine of N1M for conspiracy to hijack a fishing vessel. He got a similar reprieve like the others.

    63. Adamole Philip, aged 52 years: Sentenced to 12 years & a N1M fine for conspiracy to hijack a fishing vessel, 2020. Philip also got his term reduced to seven years and the fine waived.

    64. Mathew Masi, aged 39: Also sentenced to 12 years and a fine of N1million for conspiracy to hijack a fishing vessel. The sentence was reduced to six years, and the fine was waived.

    65. Bright Agbedeyi, 46, was also sentenced in 2020 for conspiracy to hijack a fishing vessel. Like the others in his category, he got a reprieve from President Tinubu.

    3. Moses Ayodele Olurunfemi, aged 51: sentenced to death in 2012 for culpable homicide and had spent 13 years on death row in Katsina. President Tinubu commuted the death sentence to life imprisonment, citing the individual’s good conduct and remorse.

    4. Abubakar Usman, aged 59: Sentenced to Death in 2014 and had spent 14 years on death row in Katsina. His sentence was commuted to life because of his remorse and good conduct.

    5. Khalifa Umar, aged 37: Sentenced to death in 2014 and had spent 11 years on death row in Kano Custodial Centre. His sentence has been commuted to life imprisonment.

    6. Benjamin Ekeze, age 40. Sentenced to death in 2017 for armed robbery and conspiracy, and had spent 12 years on death row at Kirikiri, Lagos. The sentence was also commuted to life.

    7. Mohammed Umar, 43: Sentenced to death in 2018 for culpable homicide and had spent seven years on death row in Onitsha Custodial Centre. He got the Presidential reprieve, commuting the death sentence to life imprisonment.

    The bad spots along Ago Palace Way by Community junction in Isolo have finally received attention, thanks to the efforts of Hon. Ladi Ajomale,Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 02.

    Investigator news reports that the road had been a source of frustration for residents and motorists, with its poor condition causing traffic congestion and vehicular breakdowns.

    However, following persistent complaints from community members, Hon. Ajomale sprang into action, engaging the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) to repair the damaged portions.

    Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has approved the absorption of Kogi State Vigilante Personnel into the mainstream civil service sector, offering them pensionable appointments.

    The Kogi State Civil Service Commission Chairman, Barr. Tanko Muhammed, congratulated the new personnel and emphasized the importance of their roles, urging them to remain committed and dedicated to their duties.

    The Chairman emphasised that their absorption into the Civil Service Sector has further subjected them to the public Service Rules, (PSR) Scheme of Service and Regulation with their names Gazetted which they must strictly adhere to.

    He commended the Governor for his determination and commitment toward combating the scourge of insecurity in the state through the initiative

    The Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service, Hon. Tade Adeyemi, commended the Governor for his determination to eradicate insecurity and for pioneering the initiative of absorbing vigilante services into the civil service.

    The Director General of Kogi state Vigilante Services, Alhaji Ibrahim Omeiza Sani, while addressing them, stressed the need for documentation on individual basis, emphasising that bringing together all the Vigilante groups across the State will give opportunity for a roll call, thereby eradicating ghost workers in the System.

    Alhaji Sanni who was represented by his Deputy, Mr. Ibrahim Taiwo gave an overview of Kogi State Vigilante Services (KSVS), recalling that KSVS was established based on the Kogi State House of Assemble Law of 2013, but only came into manifestation during the immediate past administration of former Governor in the year 2016 to 2023 with members drawn from different communities across the 21 local Government areas.

    The Kogi State Ministry of Health Government in collaboration with the Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA)on Tuesday 7, October 2025 officially kicked off the 2025 Integrated Measles-Rubella, Polio, and HPV Vaccination Campaign, a major public health initiative aimed at protecting children and adolescents across the state from vaccine-preventable diseases.

    The campaign, flagged off by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, marks a significant step towards eliminating vaccine-preventable diseases and protecting young girls against cervical cancer, which underscored the administration’s commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of every child and adolescent in the state

    The vaccination campaign targets 1.9 million children aged 9 months to 14 years and will run from October 6th to 15th.

    Speaking at the flagoff,Governor Ododo described the initiative as a renewed commitment to saving lives and strengthening primary healthcare across the state, emphasizing that the vaccines are free, safe, and effective.

    Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s determination to build a healthy and productive Kogi, stressing that the vaccines are free, safe, and effective. He further urged that no child in Kogi should be left behind in the journey to a healthier life.

    The Governor urged parents, caregivers, traditional and religious leaders to support the campaign, assuring that the vaccines are completely free and essential for every eligible child.

    He appreciated development partners and health workers for their continued support and dedication to improving the well-being of Kogi’s citizens.

    Also speaking at the event, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, Lauded the Governor’s leadership and highlighted the growing community support for the revitalization of Primary Health Centres across the state.

    He expressed gratitude to religious, traditional, and community leaders for their invaluable roles in advancing public health awareness and promotion.

    Earlier in his address, the Executive Director of the Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Mu’azu Musa Omeiza, announced that Kogi State is launching a vaccination campaign targeting 1.9 million children aged 9 months to 14 years against Measles and Rubella, with additional coverage for Polio and HPV.

    He explained that the campaign, running from October 6th to 15th, is a coordinated, cost-effective, and evidence-based approach to protecting the state’s future generation.

    Dr. Mu’azu expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their support and commended healthcare workers for their dedication, urging households and the media to ensure that all eligible children receive the life-saving vaccines.

    In a goodwill message, Alh. Abdulrazaq Babatunde Ishola of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) praised Kogi State for achieving 100% immunization coverage and commended Governor Ododo’s commitment to public health.

    Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has visited Isanlu-Esa in Yagba West Local Government Area, pledging to defeat criminality in the state.

    The visit followed recent kidnappings and killings in the area, which have heightened tension among residents in Yagba West Local Government Area.

    Ododo commended the security agencies for their efforts and sympathized with families who lost loved ones.

    “Let me thank you for your efforts at ensuring security in this area. Your synergy has made your assignment easier, and I’m always ready to provide all necessary support to triumph over criminality,”

    Earlier the Commander of the Nigerian Army in charge of the operation, Brigadier General K. U. Sidi, welcoming the Governor, commended the combined efforts of the security agencies, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Department of State Services (DSS), and Special Forces in combating criminality in the area.

    Brig. Gen. Sidi expressed appreciation to the Governor for his sustained support to the security agencies, noting that the provision of logistics and other assistance had strengthened their capacity to secure the area.

    He also acknowledged the “invaluable contributions” of the Hybrid Force from the Office of the National Security Adviser to the ongoing operation in Yagba West.

    The traditional ruler of Isanlu-Esa, Oba Olufemi Ogunremi Theophilus, thanked the Governor for the visit and appealed for continued security presence in the area until criminal activities are eradicated.

    He also called on the Federal Government to fix the road leading to the community to facilitate free movement and enhance security operations.

    The Kogi State Government has announced a strict enforcement of the ban on trailer parks across the state, effective October 29, 2025.

    Governor Usman Ododo’s directive follows credible intelligence reports that some trailer parks, particularly in Zariagi and Osara, have become hideouts for criminal elements.

    The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, stated that the government would no longer tolerate these facilities being used to compromise the security of lives and property.

    “We have decided to move ahead of the criminals instead of lamenting after lives might have been lost,” he said.

    “The directive of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, is clear. From October 29, 2025, the state will begin full enforcement of the ban on trailer parks.

    “Intelligence at our disposal shows that some of these parks, especially those at Zariagi and Osara, harbor criminals who threaten the peace and security of our people.”

    “This is a proactive and preventive measure. We have decided to move ahead of the criminals instead of lamenting after lives might have been lost. Government won’t allow that to continue,” Fanwo said.

    Investigator news reports the security agencies have been briefed to enforce the ban without compromise, and violators will face the full weight of the law.

    The enforcement is backed by a law signed by Governor Ododo, banning the movement of articulated trucks during the day.
