    Ikeja LG Chairman,AKOD Pledges Support For Digital Skills Development

    The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has expressed his administration’s commitment to supporting digital skills development in the local government area.

    AKOD made this known while attending the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) – Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) Technical Skills Development Project Graduation and Prize-Giving Ceremony in Lagos.

    The ceremony marked the successful completion of four months of intensive training for 100 participants in various digital and technical skill areas.

    In his goodwill message,AKOD congratulated the graduating trainees for their dedication and discipline, describing their achievement as “a major step toward building a self-reliant and technology-driven generation.”

    The Executive Chairman went further to congratulate the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) on the successful completion of their Technical Skills Development Project.

    He expressed the readiness of Ikeja Local Government to partner with NECA and ITF to extend similar training opportunities to the teeming youths of Ikeja,emphasizing that such collaborations would directly support the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA of his administration, which emphasizes Knowledge, Empowerment, and Economic Growth.

    “Our government believes in building capacity and empowering young people with practical and employable skills.”

    “A partnership between Ikeja Local Government and NECA will further equip our youths to compete globally and contribute meaningfully to the digital economy. This is how we make governance work for all.”he stated

    Comrade Dauda commended NECA and ITF for their continuous partnership in developing Nigeria’s human capital, particularly in the digital sector. He stated that the training would equip youths to compete globally and contribute meaningfully to the digital economy.

    The Director-General of NECA, Mr. Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, congratulated the participants and urged them to use the skills acquired to better their lives and make meaningful contributions to society.

    Investigator news reports that the event was attended by dignitaries from diverse sectors, including the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, and the Director-General of ITF.

    The Hon. Seyi Jakande Summer Tech Boot Camp is set to conclude with a graduation ceremony tomorrow, August 27, at the Council’s Secretariat in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA.

    The ceremony will celebrate the achievements of approximately 350 children who participated in the program, which aimed to equip young minds with essential technological skills.

    In a press release signed by his Media handlers,the graduation ceremony which will begin at 10am,themed “Summer Boot Camp Graduation Ceremony,”will feature an awards presentation, recognizing outstanding performers from each training center.

    Investigator news reports that the Best Student awards will be given for both the Ilupeju ICT Centre and the Damengoro ICT Centre. Student performances will also be showcased, highlighting their creativity and newly acquired skills.

    The Hon. Seyi Jakande Summer Tech Boot Camp is part of the HEWA Agenda of the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA’s Chairman, aimed at sparking an interest in the digital world among young people.

    Throughout the program, participants engaged in workshops and hands-on training sessions covering topics such as coding, digital literacy, and problem-solving.

    “We are incredibly proud of the dedication and enthusiasm demonstrated by all the participants throughout the boot camp,” said Hon. Jakande.

    “This program has not only provided the children with valuable skills for the future, but it has also ignited a passion for technology and innovation.”
