The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Isolo Local Branch, made a significant impact at the 2025 Annual State Congress in Badagry, showcasing their leadership and commitment to youth empowerment.

The event, themed “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” brought together leaders from 57 local branches, Voluntary Youth Organizations (VYOs), and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) across Lagos State

Isolo’s delegation,led by Coordinator Damilola Kushimo,contributed meaningfully to discussions, with Comrade Jennifer Esenwa leading the opening prayer.

In his address,Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, MNSE,charged the local branches to draw inspiration from the state leadership by remaining relentless in implementing projects and initiatives that will be of utmost benefit to young people in their respective areas.

He urged the coordinators to seek partnerships and think outside the box in generating funds for meaningful projects.

A potentially disastrous collision between a fully-loaded PMS tanker and a Lexus Jeep was averted on Saturday at Berger Suya, inward Mile 2, Lagos.

The swift response of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and other emergency agencies prevented what could have been a catastrophic explosion.

According to preliminary security reports, the Lexus Jeep, with registration number LSR 606 XH, was reportedly at excessive speed when it collided with the PMS-laden tanker.

The impact caused the tanker driver to lose control, subsequently ramming into several unregistered vehicles displayed along the highway setback, resulting in extensive damage to the affected vehicles.

Investigator news reports that LASTMA personnel quickly cordoned off the area, restricting vehicular movement to ensure public safety.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service promptly deployed officers to the scene, flushed and neutralized the fuel spillage, averting an imminent explosion.

The Trinity Police Division provided security reinforcement, maintaining order and safeguarding the accident scene.
