ICJPD Blasts TMO Over Alleged Name-Dropping,Describes Group As Clannish And Opportunistic.

    Emmanuel Clement

The Imo Coalition for Justice, Peace and True Democracy (ICJPD) has condemned The Mazi Organisation (TMO) for allegedly engaging in reckless name-dropping of prominent figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chief of Staff, and INEC Chairman, Yakubu Mahmood.

Addressing journalists in Owerri Wednesday 17, September 2025,ICJPD stated that TMO’s actions are a desperate bid for political relevance, while condemning TMO as nothing more than a “mushroom contraption of opportunists,” describing it as a clannish gathering masquerading as a statewide political platform.

ICJPD said every visible position in TMO is monopolized by a single clan, exposing its lack of vision and credibility.

The group reserved its harshest words for Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, whom it accused of parading himself with false airs of grandeur.

According to ICJPD, Amadi boasts of closeness to President Tinubu, repeatedly drops the name of the Chief of Staff, and brags about his supposed influence over the INEC Chairman, Yakubu Mahmood. The coalition declared:

“Enough is enough, Chima Amadi. Stop the reckless name-dropping of the President, the Chief of Staff, and the INEC Chairman.”

“This is mockery of democracy. Democracy is not about who you claim to know; it is about the will of the people.”they stated.

The coalition further challenged Amadi to show evidence of his alleged contracts with INEC or any credible business record to justify his sudden rise in wealth.

“Until a few years ago, he was nothing more than a London cab driver. By what magic did he suddenly become an overnight billionaire, save for alleged fraudulent schemes?” ICJPD asked.

It also ridiculed his repeated claims of being able to win elections under any political party because of his connection to the INEC Chairman, describing such boasts as “a great shame to democratic credentials.”

The ICJPD dismissed allegations by TMO of assassination plots and harassment by government, insisting that no security agency has confirmed such claims.

It said taxation is a lawful duty and that crying foul over taxes is “an admission of guilt.”

On governance, the coalition highlighted achievements of Governor Hope Uzodimma, citing Imo’s top performance in WAEC, infrastructural projects, and improved security. It described TMO’s criticism of the governor as hollow propaganda.

The coalition accused Duke of embezzling APC e-registration funds and collapsing a thriving outdoor advertising company and Amajirionwu was branded a betrayer who looted campaign funds and abandoned his constituents.

The group described Dr. Chima Amadi  as “an Alhaji without a village,” a man with questionable roots who shuns Igbo culture, preferring agbada and babanriga over traditional attire.

ICJPD went further to urge Imolites to reject TMO’s antics, calling its press conference a “rented noise” meant to distract from Governor Hope Uzodimma’s progress.

The coalition reaffirmed its support for the governor, stressing that Imo people want peace, development, and progress.

“Our people are too sophisticated to be reduced to beggars in Amadi’s almajiri style of politics. Imo is not for sale to a clan.”

“Enough is enough. We will not allow desperate politicians and clannish adventurers to drag us backwards into deceit and contrived poverty,” the statement read.
