The President of Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, has urged religious institutions to embrace global economic trends and diversify their operations.

During his Sunday visits to the Somolu-Bariga and Eti Osa Branches of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji emphasized the need for religious organizations to integrate business and economic strategies that align with modern financial realities.

Alhaji Ayodeji, a Chartered Stockbroker and capital market expert, highlighted that religious institutions must not only focus on spiritual leadership but also play an active role in economic development. He noted that by diversifying their activities, religious organizations could become a significant source of employment and economic empowerment, reducing dependency on government solutions to national issues.

During his visit, Alhaji Ayodeji inspected the ongoing construction projects at both the Somolu-Bariga and Eti Osa branches. He commended the branch councils of elders, executive members, and members for their dedication and investment in the service of Allah. He offered prayers for the successful completion of the centers, which will serve as hubs for religious and community development.

Accompanying Alhaji Ayodeji on his tour were prominent NASFAT leaders, including Alhaji Olawuyi Kamal Bolaji (Vice-President I), Alhaji Ajiroba Maroof Adedokun (Vice-President II), Alhaja Ganiyat Omowunmi Babalola (Women Affairs Secretary), and Alhaji Shamsideen Owolabi Oseni (National Public Relations Secretary). The delegation was warmly received by the Somolu-Bariga Branch Chairman, Bro. Musiliudeen Shonaike, and other branch executives, including Imam AbdulRasheed Shittu, the Branch Lead Missioner.

At Eti Osa Branch, the Council of Elders and other key members were present, including the Acting Branch Chairman, Alhaji Shina Alimi, and the Branch Missionary, Imam Abdul Hakeem Kayode Alaran. Alhaja Kafayat Foluke AbdurRazak (Women Affairs Secretary of Eti Osa Branch) was also in attendance.

NASFAT’s leadership remains committed to fostering economic growth alongside spiritual development, urging religious institutions to contribute actively to the economic well-being of their communities.

The pace setting Global Islamic organization, Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), recently conducted an executive training session for its leaders, emphasizing enhanced leadership and organizational closure effects.

The training, tagged ‘Next Level Leadership’, was held at the prestigious Academy Halogen, a world-class leadership and security training academy in Lagos. The session was anchored by Dr. Wale Adeagbo, a renowned expert in leadership development.

The training had in attendance key NASFAT leaders, including the National Executive Council (NEC) led by Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, and the Imams’ Forum led by Imam Maroofdeen Onike AbdulAzeez. Representatives from the Women’s Management Committee and the Youth Wing of NASFAT from both the Headquarters and Lagos Zones also actively participated, reflecting the organization’s commitment to inclusive leadership development.

The event which received strong support from NASFAT’s Board of Trustees, with sponsorship provided by one of its members had in attendance dignitaries like Alhaji AbdulKabir Aregbesola and the immediate past National Public Relations Secretary of NASFAT, Alhaji Babatunde Aremu, who added further significance to the training.

It will be recalled that Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf led National Executive Council was inaugurated on February 4, 2024 where he reiterated his dedication to leadership development. “Training and retraining are essential for our growth,” he stated, emphasizing that the 2024-2026 NASFAT Executive Council will focus on Leadership, Empowerment, Agent of Change, and Dawah—‘LEAD.’

Participants at the training engaged in robust discussions, generating fresh ideas aimed at advancing NASFAT’s mission and promoting Islam in Nigeria. The interactive sessions facilitated the development of innovative strategies that would address current challenges faced by the Muslim community.

As the ‘Next Level Leadership’ training concluded, the leaders renewed their commitment to furthering NASFAT’s goals and fostering positive change across Nigeria, ensuring that the organization remains a trailblazer in faith and social impact.

On Friday, the recently turbaned Grand Chief Imam of Somolu-Bariga, Sheikh Boonyamin Olanrewaju Akanbi Dabiri, delivered a powerful Jum’ah sermon titled “Effective Family Ties, a Panacea for All Nation’s Ills” at the Somolu Central Mosque.

As a Somolu-born and vibrant graduate of the University of Lagos, Sheikh Dabiri’s message resonated deeply with the congregation.

Sheikh Dabiri emphasized that the root of many societal problems can be traced back to the weakening of family structures. He stressed that Islam places great importance on the family as the bedrock of society, where values are instilled, and moral guidance is provided.

Quoting from the Holy Qur’an, he referenced Surah Ar-Rum (30:21): “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who give thought.” Sheikh Dabiri explained that the tranquility and mercy found in family life are essential for building a stable and just society.

The Imam also cited a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said, “The best of you are those who are best to their families” (Tirmidhi). He emphasized that the treatment of one’s family is a reflection of one’s character and that strong family ties lead to a healthier and more compassionate community.

Sheikh Dabiri urged the congregation to actively work towards strengthening their family relationships, noting that this is not only a personal duty but also a social responsibility. He reminded them that the breakdown of family ties often leads to broader societal issues, such as crime, poverty, and moral decay.

In his concluding remarks, the Imam called on the congregation to be examples of strong family values, stating that by doing so, they contribute to the healing of the nation’s ills. His sermon left a profound impact, inspiring the attendees to prioritize their family bonds.

The sermon was a timely reminder of the critical role that effective family ties play in addressing the challenges facing society today.

Abel Damina is not a strange name in the ears of many Nigerians as far as the peddling of Christian heresies is concerned. He has carved for himself an unenviable niche in the world of heretic and controversial doctrines.
Whether such doctrines are being triggered by his sheer lack of understanding of the Scripture or inspired by some strange demonic influences remains a worrisome and intriguing subject. But more worrisome is the fate of young, immature and gullible Christians who are being swayed into the abyss of sinful and damnable compromise by his heretical and evil doctrines.
For a so-called man of God to have and maintain a doctrinal stance that promotes unrestrained sin, immoral conducts, disorderliness, falsehood, duplicity and social anarchy speaks volumes of the extremely permissive and corrupt nature of his personal life.
But before we delve further, let us take a brief look at the history of this religious pariah. Abel Damina finished Secondary School in 1988 from Prince College, Mista-Ali, Jos, Plateau State Nigeria. He attempted to further his education by enrolling into the College of Advanced Studies, Zaria, but soon dropped out shortly after, claiming to have received a call to Ministry.
This was soon followed by the commencement of his Ministry in the city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, just two years after secondary school.
From the foregoing, it is clear to see that the process of his making is already compromised. He could not endure the mental and physical discipline to run a basic post-secondary education programme. His entry into ministry cost him nothing as he did not sacrifice anything valuable to answer the call – no degree certificate, no professional qualification, no occupation or career, etc.
Today, this same drop-out has the effrontery to challenge highly revered and renowned men of God and fathers of faith who are academic giants or scholars in their own rights. His unbridled and visceral tongues did not spare God’s servants like, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, a renowned mathematician, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, also a mathematical scholar, Bishop David Oyedepo, a qualified architect, and Dr. Paul Enenche and his wife, Dr (Mrs) Becky Enenche, both qualified medical doctors. These are men and women who paid the price for the call of God into ministry.
Ministry, to these men, is highly valued as they left behind enviable qualifications and gainful professions to do the work of God. But that is not the same for Abel Damina. He left nothing behind, and it is obvious, he has nothing in front of him to pursue. And since he has nothing to gain or lose, he is desperately on the loose, seeking to denigrate those who are genuinely doing the work of God with unquestionable conducts and proven track records.
His Ministerial practices have from the very beginning, been characterized by dubious fund-raising, the proceeds of which were taken by him almost immediately for personal use, and not for the church. That is, he would immediately run away with the raised funds after the service. He could use the extremes of means, even hypnotics, if possible, to extract money from the congregants. He once proudly told an associate that all his messages were strategically scripted to elicit giving or fundraising – that he wouldn’t preach any message that would not provoke people to give. In fact, he once told his congregation that the tithe of the church belonged to him.
But what do we have today? The same fund-raiser-in-chief is now peddling a new doctrine that forbids the payment of tithe and other forms of giving in church. The reason for this newly minted doctrine is not far-fetched – since the fundraising and all the tithes he has been fraudulently taking from the people didn’t make him rich, no other church should take tithes from people. But what he failed to realize is that whereas he diverted all tithes and funds raised by him on the church’s altar to his personal coffers, these other men of God, following scriptural injunctions, never had anything to do with tithes or other forms of giving in church. The standard practice is the total separation of the church from the man of God as two separate legal entities. That makes the resources of the church not to be the same as the resources of the pastor. What is given to the church, be it tithes, offerings, sacrifices and other forms of giving, belong to the church, and not the pastor. This is the standard scriptural practice, but Damina devoured all hook-line-and-sinker, and expected God, being a God of principle to prosper him, all the same.
Since he is bankrupt of basic discipline and financial integrity to manage church’s resources, he assumes every other pastor is doing the same. This is his mind-set because to the corrupt, everything is corrupt. He is acting like the harlot who killed her son in the Book of First Kings and wanted the surviving son of her roommate destroyed so both of them would become equal and childless. But King Solomon, filled with the wisdom of God discerned the evil intent of the devious harlot, and preserved the living child, handing him to the rightful mother. And God is wiser than King Solomon: in the end, the heretic will always end as the ultimate loser.
Thus, Damina stepped into ministry with zero ethical foundation, zero sense of purpose, zero discipline, and zero sacrifice, just to go after people’s resources. His ministry and personal lifestyle have always been characterized with extreme level of permissiveness, disorderliness and error, hence his leaning on the absolutist grace doctrine to accommodate his moral depravity, indiscipline, avarice and recklessness.
To the gullible, unsuspecting generation of young, immature Christians, he is a hero, but deep down his hypocritical mind, he knows that he is up to nothing good but sheer falsehood, deception and double standard, with the ultimate intention to steal, to kill and to destroy lives, homes and thriving churches.
But the foundation of God stands sure, and the Lord knows those who are His – 2 Timothy 2:19. God will always stand to defend His works, and pull down all foundations and installations of falsehood, deception and evil. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire (Mathew 3:10).

Like all heretics before him, the wind of truth will eventually blow all forms of heresies into the abyss of history, and the Church of Christ will continue to march forward in triumph, and the gates of hell can never prevail against it.

Pastor Abel Damina of Power Chapel International has recently been at the center of a storm of controversy. Within the Christian community, his teachings have sparked significant perplexity, with many labeling his doctrines as outright heresies. These concerns have raised serious questions about his doctrinal stance and the spiritual root of his ministry.

One of the most contentious aspects of Damina’s teachings is his assertion that sin does not condemn anyone to hell. Additionally, he has claimed that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was never a virgin. These and other provocative teachings have led many to question the origin of his inspiration.

To gain deeper insight into the roots of Damina’s ministry and the controversy surrounding it, we spoke with Bro Soviet, a long-time acquaintance who knew Damina before his ministry began.

In a revealing interview, Bro Soviet shared his thoughts on the current controversies and offered a candid perspective on Damina’s spiritual journey.

“When it comes to Abel Damina, I believe he has run out of ideas,” Bro Soviet stated.

“The spirit behind his teachings is definitely not of God because there is meant to be harmony in the body of Christ. When someone finds fault with everyone else and claims to be the only one who is right, it means he is the one who is actually wrong. Abel is someone I have known even before he started his ministry.”

Bro Soviet’s familiarity with Damina dates back to the early days of his ministry. Reflecting on Damina’s early years, Bro Soviet expressed his skepticism about Damina’s calling and discipline.

“Before he started his ministry, I observed an obvious lack of clarity of call and discipline in his lifestyle. His messages don’t bear the fruit of the Spirit of God. I have not seen that clear call. He probably went into ministry because his father was a pastor in the Assemblies of God, and he grew up on church premises and got few bits of information and began to mix them up.

“To fully understand the trajectory of Abel Damina’s ministry, it’s essential to trace his roots back to his arrival in Uyo in 1990.

“When Damina first came to Uyo, I was a member of a church called Life Tabernacle. A branch of Idem Ikon’s Church in Calabar. In Calabar it is called Revival Valley.

“But when they created Akwa Ibom State, the members of the church that came to Akwa Ibom as Akwa Ibomites opened a church in Uyo called Life Tabernacle located along Oron Road in one secondary school.

“Now while the church was growing up, that was when Abel Damina came in. He introduced himself to the man of God called Atauyo Ibanga. When he introduced himself, the pastor only gave him the pulpit to greet the church and introduce himself for 5 or 15 minutes thereabouts. As soon as he dropped the microphone, he left with the two people that he came with.

“After the service, the pastor said, ‘This young man is up to something.” He said that he would never give him the pulpit again. He called Damina, “This Hausa boy,” because in Akwa Ibom then, they call everybody from the north, Hausa.

“So when I learnt that he is from the north and I am also from the north, I went after him, and tried to encourage him. In that process, we went to Dr Uma Ukpai, and he introduced himself and told Uma Ukpai what he came from the north to do and all that. Dr Uma Ukpai used a few words, he said, “Young man, Go back to the north, your assingment is not welcomed here.” That was all.

It was then. I said, “Ah! A father of faith that is supposed to receive a young, vibrant minister…”
That was when I started developing cold feet because it was rejection everywhere. Then, I was thinking that it was persecution but I found out that utterances from his mouth and what he was doing were at variance. That was when I began to develop cold feet.

“Honestly, let me tell you. From the beginning, I saw insincerity, I saw moral bankruptcy, I saw all these things from the beginning. And like I said, that was why I refused to be part of his work.

“Now he came in and introduced himself that he never came to establish any church, rather, he came for a ministers association called ICMA, meaning International Charismatic Ministers Association. Not too long after that, he started a fellowship, calling it FFF. Friday Fire Fellowship. Not too long Power Chapel International started. That was when it was confirmed that he was up to something else other than what he told people when he came.

“As I’m talking today, everything metamorphosed from ICMA to FFF, then to Power Chapel International, and now it is Power City.

“Honestly, there had never been any honesty from the beginning. There had never been a clean, clear vision, from the beginning.

“The foundation was faulty and it’s the same thing that is happening up to date.”

Bro Soviet’s concerns about Damina’s doctrinal stance are not unfounded. “If I met him today, I would tell him to apologize to the body of Christ. His heretical ideas and teachings are leading some gullible young generation of Christians astray. But all I know is, just like music, it will all fizzle away,” Bro Soviet said.

Bro Soviet believes that those who are genuinely seeking Christ will eventually find their way back, despite the confusion caused by Damina’s teachings.

Reflecting on the financial aspect of Damina’s ministry, Bro Soviet shared his experiences from the past. “As a preacher, if your message centers on how to collect money from people every time, then something is wrong. Way back, I used to give him money. Though I was never comfortable because of his character, I knew he was not the one to reward me but God. He had no capacity to manage the money. This was someone who was preaching that all tithes belonged to him and he could do whatever he wanted with it.”

Despite Damina’s current stance against giving, Bro Soviet remains hypocritical. “Like I told you, when you run out of lies, you need to cook up more lies to cover up the previous lies you have told. At the beginning, his foundation was faulty. When the first phase expired, he needed more lies to sustain his life. I don’t know of any academic certificate that he has. He is not a graduate because he didn’t go to any university to my knowledge.”

Bro Soviet’s critique extends beyond Damina’s teachings to his personal life and foundation. “There are men of God in Nigeria who have integrity, but right from the beginning, he exhibited an abysmal level of moral and character bankruptcy in all ramifications. That is why he has the audacity to say once born again, always born again.”

Bro Soviet concluded with a call for accountability and repentance. “As a servant of the kingdom, he should humble himself and apologize to the world for misleading people. Some of us have invested so much into his life and ministry. He has benefited a lot. I housed him and his pastors for one year and six months in Uyo, so I know what I am saying.
“Joshua Talena, if he is sincere, knows what I’m talking about. His own younger brother, Gideon was in the picture. At the beginning as I have been saying, there were a number of people who rushed in thinking they had found a ministry with which they could grow, but not too long after, they were all discouraged and fizzled away. Persons like Joe Odobre, Joe Udomio, Bro Tony that he turned into his driver, Rev. Benny Momoh and Macdonald Edward with his wife and a daughter then; all of them lived in my house at No. 53 Enwe street by Oron Road. Bro Uduak Ekong, Sister Aniebo Ndada Inyang, Bro Charles Uko. There were many more brethren whose names I cannot remember anymore because this was some 34 years ago.

Bro Soviet hasn’t been able to reach Damina to discuss these issues directly. “I will tell him to his face that he should apologize to those men of God he has insulted. He should apologize for misleading people. From the Bible, you can pick one or two scriptures and build any negative message. But the foundation is what is important. A message built on falsehood will eventually crumble. We must remember it is not just about those he has insulted; it’s about the body of Christ. If a man of God twists scripture for personal gain, it’s a problem.”

In Bro Soviet’s view, Damina’s recent messages are fueled by jealousy. “His new messages are products of jealousy. He feels left behind and there is nothing he can do to measure up to the standard of those he is attacking. The men of God he’s talking about, one branch of their church is more than everything he has worked for in his entire life. I urge those fathers of faith he has defamed to forgive him and pray for his repentance.”

The pace setting Islamic organization, Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), has empowered over 5000 women through comprehensive welfare, financial assistance, and skills acquisition programs over the past two years.

This remarkable achievement was announced by Alhaja Babalola Ganiyat Omowunmi, the National Women Affairs Secretary, during her address at the Lagos State Secretariat Mosque NASFAT Asalatu premises in Alausa, Ikeja, on Sunday.

While addressing the congregation, Alhaja Babalola spoke about the forthcoming Biennial Women Conference scheduled to hold in Abeokuta from Thursday, July 25, to Sunday, July 28. She emphasized that empowering women is a central focus of the Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf-led administration, highlighting the organization’s unwavering commitment to the cause.

“Women are the beauty of Islam, and empowering them has been one of our primary focuses,” stated Alhaja Babalola. “Our Empowerment, Zakat & Sadakah, and Women Affairs Committees have been pivotal in this mission, working across our headquarters, zones, branches, and groups to ensure that women are not left behind in societal and spiritual development.”

Under the guidance of the Empowerment Committee, NASFAT has implemented extensive welfare programs designed to meet the holistic needs of women. These initiatives have provided healthcare services, counselling, and established social support networks, significantly enhancing the quality of life for women within the NASFAT community.

Church leaders and Ministers has been urged to stay in their lanes of calling, observe ministerial ethics and avoid common errors in the ministry.

The call was made during a one day Leadership training seminar held by the Christian Association Of Nigeria,Orole District, Monday 8th July,2024 at the Hope Sanctuary Assembly, Ejigbo Lagos.

Rev Dr.Tim Paul(JP) of the Assemblies Of God Church, Ejigbo 2, Lagos West District who delivered a lecture entitled “The Gain” from the book of 1 Timothy 6:1-14 and 2 Peter 1:3 noted that the church over the years has come under heavy criticism not as a form of persecution but as a result of the malfeasance of some supposed ministers of the faith.

He said,“Before anybody can stand to say he or she is a minister of the gospel, the person must have a full understanding of what the ministry is all about,” Timpaul said

Giving tips on how to run a successful ministry, he stated that: “A call into the ministry is not a random call from God. It is for specific purpose, for individuals who are set aside to accomplish that purpose. Understanding what God is calling you to do, is key to the good success of your ministry.

“After identifying your call, the next phase is for you to associate with the right people who the Holy Spirit will use to mentor you. Don’t think because you have the gift then you know it all.

“Be well informed about the things of God,in order to continuously promote the growth of the ministry and win more souls for Christ. When the mind is educated, enlightened and well informed it is in the best position to understand God’s word and be better at teaching it,not minding what you would gain at the end as a minister

He stressed that part of the objectives of the Christian ministry is propagating the gospel of Christ, winning souls to God, teaching individuals to observe God’s commandments, helping the needy and bringing deliverance to the oppressed.

Timpaul who opined that as teachers of the gospel they are meant to exhibit kindness, integrity, agape love without discrimination, noting that godliness is the source of great gain and when it is accompanied by contentment,it generates happiness and satisfaction over whatever one has without complaining.

The Chairman Christian Association Of Nigeria, Orole District, Apostle (Amb) Anthony Ogoh- Marquis of the Hope Sanctuary Assembly lagos encouraged clerics to have men-tees to help with their own experiences in the ministry and life in general.

He said,“There is need for the mental and spiritual preparation coupled with experience gathered from serving other ministries is important to be successful in the ministry and to avoid common errors,”

” The essence of this seminar is because we discovered that so many ministers have left their calling of winning souls for Christ and have gone into the calling of enriching their pockets,they always think of their gain instead of thinking of the work of God, which is winning souls for the kingdom of God.”

“Ministers should do what God has asked them to do. They should not divert and see the ministry as an avenue of making money, for the Lord will lift them when the time comes. They must have the spirit to serve because the work of God is not our own but of God,if the ministers see it that way,then prosperity will surely come their way “he submitted.

On the re election of the Women’s wing  of  the Christian Association of Nigeria (Wowican), the cleric advised the leaders of the women ministry to always have the fear of God in them and ensure that the work of God do not die in their hands.

He urge the newly re-elected officers to always depend on God for his grace, wisdom and understanding so as to ensure that the unity of women is not in dispute, while praying that God will continue to strengthen the work of God placed in their hands.

On the state of the nation, the cleric called on continuous prayers while tasking the government on the need to pay utmost importance to the security of lives and properties of the citizenry.

Highlight of the event was the presentation and prayers for the re elected officers of the women ministry.

It will be recalled that on the 14th of July,2024,the officials of the women’s wing of Orole district were re-elected to pilot the affairs of the Women’s ministry.

The family of the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has warned the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, to focus on his ministry and stop disparaging their son in the name of prophesy.

The warning is coming on the heels of Saturday’s prophesy by Ayodele where he reportedly told Kanu to “beg the Nigerian government or die in jail.”

Kanu’s family asked him to focus on his church and stop making provocative utterances against the IPOB leader under the guise of prophesy.

In a Press release signed by Kanu’s younger brother, Kanunta Kanu,told the Primate to stop deceiving gullible minds with purported prophesies that have nothing to do with God, stating that the cleric need to focus on his calling and stop seeking relevance through misdirected and provocative comments on Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanunta went further to state that the cleric need to keep his visions to themselves and stop using their son’s name to seek public attention and draw traffic, noting that God whose mouthpiece he is claiming to be is a God of justice who does not punish the innocent.

He said,“Ayodele should be courageous enough to tell the world what God said about the murderous invasion of our family home that resulted in the death of our parents and the murder of 28 other innocent visitors to our home. The righteous God I know cannot count the masterminds of this atrocity guiltless and hold their victim accountable.”he submitted

According to him, Kanu committed no crime but was unjustly incarcerated simply for demanding justice and fair treatment for his oppressed Biafra people.
