    Stakeholders in Mopamuro Local Government Area have commended Hon. Ademola Bello, the Executive Chairman, for his outstanding efforts in maintaining peace and security in the area.

    The commendation was made on Friday 14, November 2025,during a strategic security meeting involving key officials, royal fathers, and grassroots security operatives.

    Investigator news reports that the meeting, which was held to review security strategies, brought together top officials, including the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, and the Member representing Mopamuro in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Olawumi Jacob.

    The stakeholders expressed concern over the rising incidents of insecurity due to the influx of unknown individuals following the establishment of the Mangal Cement Company.

    They urged the company’s management to invest in the security architecture of Mopamuro, citing the need to protect the area’s peace and development.

    Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, said the stakeholders unanimously applauded Hon. Bello for his proactive security interventions.

    Hon.Fanwo, stated that the stakeholders resolved to strengthen security at the grassroots, assuring residents of renewed commitment to safety.

    He also urged traditional rulers and landowners to desist from allocating land to criminal elements.

    The Commissioner expressed concern over the “rising incidents of insecurity occasioned by the influx of unknown individuals following the establishment of the Mangal Cement Company near the LGA.”

    He disclosed that the youths had been prevented from staging protests to avoid a breakdown of law and order.

    “Inasmuch as we cherish development, we won’t condone any threat to the peace of Mopamuro.

    “We call on the management of Mangal Cement Company to begin to invest meaningfully in the security architecture of Mopamuro.

    “It’s not enough to cart away our resources without contributing to the safety and development of the area”. Fanwo said.

    While acknowledging the few interventions made by the company, he urged its management to make more concrete contributions to supporting security and community development in the interest of both the company and the people.

    The stakeholders also urged traditional rulers and landowners to desist from allocating land to criminal elements, saying the law will henceforth take its full course.

    The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command has applauded Societal Concerns Organization for its patriotic initiative tagged Campaign Against the Killing of Security Personnel (2.0), describing it as a laudable and timely intervention in promoting peace, national security, and mutual respect between the public and security operatives.

    During a courtesy visit by the organizers to his office, the AIG commended the group’s commitment to advocacy and social responsibility, noting that the campaign reflects a deep sense of patriotism and empathy for men and women who daily put their lives on the line to protect the nation.

    He expressed concern over the rising incidents of attacks on security personnel across the country and emphasized the need for continuous public enlightenment to curb such acts. According to him, security agencies remain partners in progress, and every citizen must see them as allies in the collective mission to ensure safety and stability.

    Also speaking during the meeting, Mr. Gbenga Adewale, a representative of the organizing team, emphasized the importance of “protecting our protectors”, stressing that security officers deserve the highest level of respect, safety, and appreciation for their selfless service to the nation.

    He noted that the campaign was designed to awaken public consciousness about the dangers of hostility toward security personnel and to encourage stronger collaboration between communities and the forces that safeguard them.

    In his remarks, Mr. Lanre, a representative of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), shared positive feedback from the youth community regarding the ongoing campaign.

    He stated that the orientation among young people is changing as they are beginning to better understand the sacrifices of security operatives and the importance of maintaining peaceful engagement with them.

    Speaking on behalf of Societal Concerns Organization, Ambassador Oluwayomi Oluwapelumi, the convener of the campaign, reiterated that the initiative was born out of a passion to promote empathy, national unity, and protection for those who serve in various security formations across the country.

    She revealed that the second edition of the campaign will feature public awareness programs, media sensitization, and stakeholder collaborations aimed at bridging the gap between citizens and security agencies.

    Investigator news reports that the courtesy visit concluded with a renewed sense of partnership, as the AIG pledged the Command’s support and participation in the upcoming campaign activities, affirming the shared vision of creating a safer, more secure, and united Nigeria.

    The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD),on Monday 10, November 2025,presided over the monthly Peace and Security Council Meeting held at his Ikeja House Office.

    The meeting was well attended by all Heads of Security Agencies operating within the local government, alongside key community stakeholders,including the Regent of Ikeja,representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN),and  the League of Imams.

    Investigator news reports that the security chiefs provided comprehensive briefings on the security situation across Ikeja, highlighting major developments, challenges encountered, and progress achieved in maintaining law and order.

    In his message, Comrade AKOD commended the security agencies for their efforts in ensuring safety of lives and property, and for sustaining the relative peace Ikeja continues to enjoy.

    He urged them to remain vigilant and proactive, assuring them of his administration’s unwavering support and collaboration in addressing security concerns.

    The Delta State Police Command has announced a string of impressive achievements in the fight against crime and insecurity in the state.

    According to a press briefing by Commissioner of Police,on Wednesday 5, November 2025,CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, the command stated it has recorded notable successes in various areas, including the rescue of kidnapped victims, arrest of suspected kidnappers and armed robbers, and recovery of firearms and ammunition.

    Investigator news reports that some of the major breakthroughs highlighted by CP Abaniwonda include the rescue of 5 kidnapped victims, arrest of 77 suspects, and recovery of 13 firearms, including AK-47 rifles and pump-action guns. The command also seized 591 ammunition and cartridges, and recovered ₦4,100,000 ransom paid to kidnappers.

    CP Abaniwonda went further to highlight several notable arrests, including the arrest of a notorious arms peddler, Ahmed Ibrahim, who was found with 115 rounds of 7.63mm AK-47 live ammunition and other exhibits.

    Another notable arrest was the arrest of a female suspect, Jamila Abubakar, who was found with ₦550,000 suspected to be proceeds from illicit transactions.

    The Delta State Police Commissioner  reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in the state.

    PRESS BRIEFING BY COMMISSIONER OF POLICE DELTA STATE, CP OLUFEMI ABANIWONDA PSC, ON THE
    ACHIEVEMENTS OF DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND RECORDED IN THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2025 TO DATE

    Gentlemen of the press, I welcome you once again to our press briefing taking place at the Delta State Command headquarters, Asaba, where I will be intimating you on the command scorecard within the period under review.
    1. DEATH OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, AND RECOVERY OF AK-47 RIFLE: On 1st November 2025, at about 1000hrs, the Command received a distress report that armed hoodlums attacked a male resident of Obinomba community while he was conveying his sister on a motorcycle. The assailants, who were armed with guns, forced them to a stop and whisked the female victim into the bush. Acting swiftly on the report, DPO Obiaruku Division led a team of police operatives in collaboration with the local community Vigilante group on 2nd November 2025 at about 0520hrs, trailed the kidnappers into a thick forest at Ibinomba community. On sighting the operatives, the hoodlums opened fire, which the team responded to decisively, leading to a fierce gun duel during which one of the suspects was fatally wounded. The victim was successfully rescued unhurt, while one AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and twelve (12) rounds of live ammunition were recovered. The injured suspect was taken to the hospital, but was later confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. The rescued victim has since been reunited with her family, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining members of the gang.
    2. ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, ARMS PEDDLER, RECOVERY OF ONE AK-47 RIFLE, AMMUNITION AND CARTRIDGES :Acting on credible intelligence from the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU), Abuja, operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) arrested a female suspect, one Jamila Abubakar, at Conoil Filling Station, Warri–Patani Road, Effurun. Upon her arrest, the operatives discovered a cash sum of Five Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦550,000) suspected to be proceeds from illicit transactions. Upon Further investigation, the operatives stormed Niger-Cat area of Warri, where they successfully arrested a notorious arms peddler, one Ahmed Ibrahim (male, 31 years), at about 0725 hrs on 22nd October 2025 and recovered a bag containing one hundred and fifteen rounds (115) rounds of 7.63mm AK-47 live ammunition, two hundred and twenty (220) rounds of SMG rifle ammunition, and thirty-two (32) live cartridges. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is a key supplier of weapons to bandit groups in the North and has long been on the Command’s watch list for his alleged role in several high-profile kidnapping and armed robbery operations. He was also linked to the kidnapping and murder of one Ogheneovo Onemu (female), who was abducted on 17th May 2024 at Ajaokuta Community, Ughelli North LGA, and later killed despite the payment of a ₦4,000,000 ransom. Acting on revelations made by the suspects, the operatives stormed another of the suspects’ hideouts along Ughelli-Warri before Beta Glass Company and recovered one AK-47 rifle, eighteen rounds of 7.62mm ammunition buried in the bush.
    3. ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, AND RECOVERY OF FOUR MILLION, ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND NAIRA RANSOM: Acting on a distress call on the kidnap of two persons (Names withheld) who were kidnapped at Oduke, Asaba on the 3rd of October 2025, the commander Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime squad was detailed to investigate. In compliance with my directives, operatives of Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime squad acting on intelligence trailed one Ndianefo Cypre ‘m’ aged 60yrs to Isieke Village at Ihiala LGA, Anambra State, whose bank account details was used to collect the ransom, another suspect Onwe Sunday aged 49yrs was also arrested at Ihiala in possession of one million five hundred thousand naira which was part of the ransom. Following confessions of the two suspects, another suspect Uzoma Ifeanyi Chukwu was arrested at Nnewi, Anambra state and part of the ransom of two Million, six hundred thousand was recovered from him. Suspects are in custody and investigation is ongoing.
    4. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER/KIDNAPPER, AND RECOVERY OF ONE LOCALLY MADE SINGLE-BARRELED GUN: On 31st October 2025 at about 1020hrs, operatives of Eagle Net Special Squad, while conducting a routine stop-and-search operation along Ughelli–Warri Road, the team intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number AUC-473-MS, and driven by one Solomon Ojo (male, 58 years) of Ogida Barracks, Benin City. The vehicle, loaded with passengers, was subjected to a meticulous search during which operatives discovered a locally made single-barrel gun and one walkie-talkie concealed inside a sack belonging to one of the passengers, later identified as Ovioma Andrew, male, 38 years of Ughelli Old Road, Ozoro. The suspect was arrested, and investigation is ongoing.
    5. ARREST AND RECOVERY OF ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-EIGHT (178) LIVE CARTRIDGES: On 30th October 2025 at about 1230 hrs, operatives of the Bomadi Division, while on a joint stop-and-search operation with the Bomadi Vigilante, intercepted a motorcycle along the Bomadi–Tuomo Road. The cyclist, who appeared uneasy, was conveying a 62-year-old woman, later identified as Charter Timide, to Tuomo Community. Upon a thorough search, officers discovered a concealed sack containing one hundred and seventy-eight (178) live cartridges neatly packed for delivery. The exhibit was recovered, and the suspect arrested. Investigation is ongoing.
    6. ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS AND RESCUE OF KIDNAPPED VICTIMS: On 30th October 2025 at about 1140hrs, the DPO Ekpan Division received a distress report of a suspected kidnapping incident at Ubeji Community. Acting on the report, the DPO deployed a team of detectives and patrol operatives to the scene. On sighting the approaching police teams, the suspected kidnappers fled into an abandoned poultry house within the same community. The Police cordoned the area, leading to the arrest of the following suspects: Felix Omone ’m’, aged 33 years, Solomon Omone ‘m’, aged 29, Tony Eboye ‘m’, 34, Omone David (m, 32), Jerry Omone (m, 33), Godspower Omone (m, 25), Edewho Bomele (m, 33). The operation also led to the rescue of three male victims, all of Jeddo Community, who were safely reunited with their families. All suspects are in custody, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend fleeing accomplices and recover any weapons or equipment used in the operation.
    7. ARREST OF SUSPECTED CULTISTS, AND RECOVERY OF ONE LOCALLY MADE DOUBLE-BARREL GUN, ONE LOCALLY MADE SINGLE-BARREL GUN, AND SIX LIVE CARTRIDGES: On 25th October 2025 at about 1800hrs, a resident of Aviara community, under Oleh Division, reported that on 22nd October 2025 at about 0812hrs, a video depicting suspected Eiye cult activity was posted on a WhatsApp group known as “Real Men”. Upon receipt of the report, the DPO Oleh Division detailed operatives to investigate discreetly. On 26 October 2025, at about 0800hrs, acting on preliminary findings, the operatives arrested the suspect linked to the post, Donatus Odovo (male, 29), of Aviara community. Follow-up investigation led to the arrest of Zachariah Okeh (male, 36), alleged to be an Eiye cult leader in Aviara. During an execution of a search warrant at his residence, operatives recovered one locally made double-barrelled gun, one locally made single-barrelled gun, and six live cartridges. The exhibits were secured, and the suspects were taken into custody for further investigation.

    8. ARREST OF SUSPECTED GUN RUNNER, AND RECOVERY OF ONE FABRICATED BERETTA PISTOL, ONE PUMP ACTION SHOTGUN, FOUR LIVE AMMUNITION, FOUR LIVE CARTRIDGES: In another development, on 27/10/2025 at about 1345hrs, operatives of Rapid Response Squad, while on stop-and-search duty along the Asaba–Benin Expressway, intercepted a Toyota RAV4 with registration EPE-189-GN. Upon search of the vehicle, found in the vehicle, one fabricated Beretta pistol with breech No. 5182207, and four live ammunition. The driver, Mordi Emmanuel (male, 45), of No. 74, Family Estate, Asaba, was arrested. The team extended the investigation to the premises of the suspect, where, upon execution of a search warrant, one pump-action shotgun with breech No. 20-R-3921, and four live cartridges were recovered from the house and premises. The exhibits and the suspect are in custody, and investigation is ongoing.
    9. ARREST OF SUSPECTED CULTIST/ARMED ROBBERY SYNDICATE AND RECOVERY OF ONE LOCALLY MADE CUT-TO-SIZE DOUBLE-BARRELED GUN, ONE LIVE CARTRIDGE, AND ONE EXPENDED CARTRIDGE: On 19th October 2025, the DPO ‘A’ Division Warri, acting on the directive to strengthen visibility policing in volatile areas, deployed operatives to intensify night patrols within the Ubeji community, following a recent resurgence of cult-related clashes. At about 0300hrs, the patrol team of ‘B’ Division Warri sighted a gold-coloured Lexus 350 SUV, with registration number KWL-359-DS (ABUJA). Their suspicious conduct prompted a meticulous search of the vehicle, leading to the recovery of one locally made cut-to-size double-barrel gun, one battle axe, one live cartridge, and one expended cartridge. Investigation is ongoing. Suspects arrested, and investigation is ongoing.
    10. RESCUE OF KIDNAPPED VICTIM: On 12/10/2025 at about 1400 hrs, the DPO Ovian Aladja Police station received a distress call from a man (name withheld ) that on the same date at about 0200hrs, while they were sleeping, armed men broke into his apartment, attacked, robbed and kidnapped his wife. The DPO mobilized and led operatives of the division on the trail of the kidnappers. Following unrelenting effort from the DPO and his men, the Kidnappers were forced to abandon the victim and escape. The victim was rescued unhurt and has since been reunited with her family, while manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing.
    11. ARREST OF DRUG BARON RECOVERY OF ILLICIT DRUGS: On 12/10/2025 at about 0500hrs, operatives of Crack Squad Delta State Command, Asaba, while acting on credible intelligence of a suspected drug peddler, stormed a hideout at Effurun, GRA and arrested one Igwe Samson ‘m’ 33yrs old Abalum Sunday ‘m’ 39yrs old all of Ovie Palace road off Effurun Road Warri. Upon search of his sienna vehicle, four hundred and fifty (450) bottles of CSP codeine, one hundred and eighty-eight (188) bottles of bargadine, two hundred and eight (208) sachets of tramadol 100mg, three hundred (300) sachets of swinol one hundred (100) sachets of tramadol 500mg, fifty (50) sachets of rophynol, a big of weed suspected to be cannabis were recovered. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
    12. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS, RECOVERY OF ONE PUMP ACTION GUN AND CARTRIDGES: Acting on credible intelligence related to cult activities around Ibusa and its environs. On 06/10/2025, Operatives of CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) stormed the residence of one Onwugbenu Olisa, an adult ‘m at Ibusa Oshimili North LGA of Delta State and arrested one Okechukwu Okwudili Nwanolue ‘m’ 45yrs a native of Abala-Obodo community in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State. Upon search of the residence, one pump action loaded with three (3) live cartridges, two (2) laptops suspected to be devices used for internet fraud, a live snail and other fetish items concealed in a shrine were recovered. Efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects are ongoing.
    13. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS, RECOVERY OF FIREARM AND ATM CARDS: On 07/10/2025, at about 0630hrs, operatives of CP-Special Assignment Team ( CP-SAT ) stormed a criminal hideout at Adheje Community along Sapele-Warri road, where two (2) suspects, namely, Lucky Tenaera ‘m’ 24yrs, and Prince Emma Esemedafe ‘m’ 38yrs, both residing at Adheje community, Sapele LGA, Delta State and one locally made long gun, eleven (11) ATM cards were recovered from them. Suspects are in custody, and investigation is ongoing.

    The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD),has reiterated the Council’s willingness to collaborate with the Nigeria Police Force in maintaining peace and security in Ikeja and Lagos State.

    Comrade Dauda stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh Moshood, at the State Police Command Headquarters.

    Chairman AKOD commended the Commissioner of Police for his efforts in ensuring peace and security across the State,reiterating his administration’s readiness to continually cooperate with the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring a safer and more secure community, emphasizing that the Council is ever willing to render any assistance when needed.

    In his response,CP Moshood lauded Chairman AKOD for his for his unwavering cooperation and support since assuming office as Chairman of Ikeja Local Government.

    He equally commended him for his outstanding performance and developmental strides within the local government, presenting him with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his commitment to community safety and grassroots development.

    Investigator news reports that the meeting ended on a cordial note, with both leaders reaffirming their shared commitment to effective collaboration for the peace and progress of Ikeja and Lagos State.

    The Lagos State Government has taken a significant step towards enhancing urban order, public safety, and infrastructural renewal with the inauguration of a 24-hour traffic management framework and a comprehensive clearance operation along Apapa Road, Coastain, and the Ijora Under Bridge.

    The groundbreaking initiative, officially commissioned by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Honourable Sola Giwa, constitutes a seminal moment in the evolution of Lagos’ transportation governance.

    It manifests Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s strategic ambition to ensure the uninterrupted movement of people, goods, and services within Nigeria’s economic epicenter—a city that operates continuously, unhindered by congestion or disorder.

    According to the reports,the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will operate round-the-clock to ensure seamless mobility and safe commuting as specialized unit will be responsible for swiftly addressing nocturnal traffic incidents and obstructions.

    He elaborated that the framework is meticulously designed to facilitate continuous monitoring, rapid emergency response, and immediate clearance of traffic obstructions irrespective of time, thereby mitigating congestion and enhancing the commuter experience.

    “This initiative exemplifies the Lagos State Government’s resolute commitment to safeguarding mobility, preserving lives, and sustaining economic productivity through perpetual traffic oversight,” Hon. Giwa stated.

    A pivotal component of the initiative is the establishment of the Night Rapid Response Gang, a specialized unit within LASTMA charged with swiftly addressing nocturnal traffic incidents, including vehicular breakdowns, collisions, and other obstructions along critical arteries of the metropolis.

    In tandem with these traffic management reforms, the Lagos State Government also executed a comprehensive clearance operation along Apapa Road, Coastain, and the Ijora under bridge, eliminating illegal structures, shanties, and unregulated trading that had long obstructed free vehicular flow and compromised public safety.

    The far-reaching enforcement exercise, spearheaded by Hon. Sola Giwa in coordination with LASTMA, the Nigeria Police Force, Mobile Police (MOPOL), the Lagos State Task Force, and the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), culminated in the removal of unauthorized traders, makeshift structures, and multiple environmental infractions.

    During the operation, enforcement teams uncovered an illegal diesel dumping site and impounded substantial quantities of expired plantain chips and cheese balls, stored under unsanitary conditions—a testament to the government’s prioritization of public health and environmental integrity.

    The exercise followed persistent warnings and public sensitization campaigns urging illegal occupants under bridges to vacate. Teams also identified blocked drainage channels choked with metallic debris, contributing to perennial flooding and environmental degradation.

    Furthermore, several commercial buses and tricycles operating unlawfully along the newly constructed Coastain Bridge and Apapa Road were impounded. Shanties adjacent to St. Catholic Church School, Apapa Road, were demolished, reinstating the area to its intended urban and educational purpose, while criminal hideouts beneath the Ijora Bridge were dismantled to enhance public security.

    Hon. Giwa reaffirmed that the Sanwo-Olu administration will not compromise on public safety, environmental protection, or the rule of law, stressing that Lagos must remain a city distinguished by structure, order, and discipline.

    The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, appealed to traders, transport operators, and commuters to comply with government directives, utilize designated markets and parking facilities, and actively support the administration’s efforts to maintain a safe, efficient, and orderly metropolis.

    The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has commended one of its officers, Muibi Ademola (Bravo 27), for refusing a ₦20,000 bribe from a motorist in Okota, Lagos.

    Officer Ademola’s integrity and professionalism have earned him recognition from the agency’s management.

    According to a report published in The Nation newspaper of Wednesday, October 22, 2025 (page 23), a motorist had drawn Officer Ademola’s attention to a developing traffic congestion within the Ago–Ibiwoye corridor.

    In an impressive display of alertness and commitment to duty, the officer swiftly proceeded to the location and diligently restored order and fluidity of movement within a short span.

    Overwhelmed by the officer’s prompt response and efficiency, the motorist reportedly offered him a monetary token of ₦20,000 in appreciation.

    However, in an extraordinary demonstration of moral fortitude and ethical rectitude, Officer Ademola politely declined the offer, asserting that he was merely executing his lawful responsibility for which he receives adequate remuneration from the Lagos State Government.

    Reacting to the report, the General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, expressed profound admiration for Officer Ademola’s exemplary comportment, describing it as a reflection of unwavering professionalism, integrity, and fidelity to the ethical tenets that define LASTMA’s operations.

    Mr. Bakare-Oki noted that such rare conduct not only strengthens public confidence in the Agency but also underscores the renewed spirit of transparency, accountability, and service excellence being institutionalized within LASTMA under the visionary leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

    The Lagos State Government has flagged off the 2025 Ember Month Safety Campaign, aimed at ensuring road safety and traffic discipline during the high-risk period.

    The campaign,held at the Headquarters of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA),Oshodi with the themed “Safe Roads, Safe Lives — LASTMA Cares,”embodies the human-centered approach of the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Administration toward ensuring road safety, traffic orderliness, and public welfare before, during and after the high-risk Ember Months.

    A period traditionally characterized by increased mobility, heightened commercial activities, and intensified vehicular pressure on the Lagos road network.

    The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport Hon.Sola Giwa in his keynote speech described the event not merely as another annual ritual, but as “a solemn reaffirmation of the government’s steadfast resolve to safeguard the lives and livelihoods of Lagosians through disciplined traffic management, preventive education, and humane enforcement.”

    Hon Giwa went further to extolled the crucial role played by LASTMA in sustaining the economic heartbeat of Lagos, noting that the Agency’s 4,100 personnel constitute “the silent engine that ensures the megacity’s continuity and productivity.”

    According to him, empirical data affirms that each LASTMA officer helps prevent economic losses estimated at over ₦85 million annually through congestion management and gridlock prevention.

    When multiplied across the Authority’s operational strength, this translates to a staggering ₦430 billion in saved man-hours, a contribution that underpins Lagos’ ₦41 trillion Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

    He stated that LASTMA officers are not just enforcers of road discipline, they are economic stabilizers, public educators, and protectors of human dignity.

    “Every hour they recover from gridlock is an hour returned to productivity; every accident they prevent is a life preserved.”

    Hon. Giwa observed that this season brings an exponential rise in road usage, inter-state travel, and commercial mobility, particularly as Lagosians in the Diaspora return home for festivities.

    He said, “Passenger inflow through our airports and inter-state corridors increases by nearly 30 percent during this period. Markets, event centers, and commercial corridors experience unusual vehicular surges that put immense pressure on our road infrastructure. It is, therefore, imperative for LASTMA to remain proactive, not reactive.”

    The Special Adviser commended the leadership of the Agency for its consistency in adapting to the evolving mobility challenges of a dynamic city such as Lagos, stressing that traffic management during the Ember Months requires “discipline, compassion, and technological precision.”

    Hon. Giwa disclosed that the 2025 Ember Month Campaign will hinge on five critical pillars:Advocacy and Public Sensitization,Empathetic Enforcement,
    Enhanced Field Deployment and Inter-Agency Collaboration.

    He declared, “Safety is not seasonal it is cultural. Let us make the right driving attitude the new Lagos identity. Compliance is not punishment; it is partnership.

    “Every Lagosian must internalize the message that safe roads guarantee safe lives because indeed, LASTMA cares.”

    Earlier in his welcome address, the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki reaffirmed the Agency’s resolute commitment to achieving Zero Accidents, Zero Fatalities, and Zero Excuses during the 2025 Ember Months.

    Mr. Bakare-Oki described the forum as a coalition of critical partners transport unions, law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and the media united by a shared mission to preserve human life during this high-risk period.
