    Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to boost security in the state.

    Ododo made the commendation during a visit to Abuja, where he updated the President on Kogi’s security situation.

    He expressed gratitude for the President’s consistent support, particularly in strengthening security operations across the state.

    The Governor also thanked Tinubu for approving the Ajaokuta Economic City project, saying it’s a key driver for industrial growth.

    In his remarks, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commended Governor Ododo for his robust collaboration with Federal security agencies in addressing security concerns in the state and assured him of the Federal Government’s continued backing.

    Investigator news reports that both the President and the Governor held fruitful discussions aimed at advancing development and improving the well-being of the people of Kogi State

    President Tinubu praised Ododo’s work with federal security agencies and promised ongoing support.

    The Kogi State Government has announced the rescue of 21 children, aged 6-17, intercepted while being trafficked into the state.

    The National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and other security agencies foiled the operation in Yagba East.

    Investigator news reports that security operatives in Kogi State intercepted a truck carrying 21 children, aged 6-17, suspected to be victims of child trafficking.

    Several suspects were arrested, including individuals claiming the children were for an “Islamic school.”

    The rescued children are receiving support, and investigations are ongoing. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed the Ministry of Women Affairs to care for the victims.

    In a press statement on Tuesday 9, November by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communications, reads, “The Kogi State Government wishes to inform the public of the successful interception of a group of under-aged children trafficked into the State, in what is suspected to be a covert recruitment attempt for banditry training.

    “At about 1500hrs on December 5, 2025, eagle-eyed security operatives of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Yagba Area Command in collaboration with other security agencies in Isanlu, acting on credible intelligence from community hunters, intercepted a truck conveying 21 children aged between 6 and 17 years into Kogi State.

    “Initial investigations revealed that the children had been moved from different northern states under suspicious circumstances by adults who could not provide legitimate justification for their movement.”

    “Several suspects linked to the trafficking operation have been arrested, including individuals who claimed they were transporting the children to establish an informal “Islamic school” within Yagba East.

    “Further arrests were made as security operatives intensified surveillance within the area, uncovering additional persons allegedly connected to the movement of the minors. Some of the suspects were also found with items raising significant security concerns.”

    “The rescued children have since been transferred to the State Command of the NSCDC in Lokoja for detailed investigation and proper profiling of all persons involved.”

    “His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Executive Governor of Kogi State, has directed the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to take full custody of the underaged victims, ensure their wellbeing, and provide the necessary psychosocial support pending the conclusion of investigations.”

    “Upon completion of profiling and verification, the children will be handed over to their respective State Governments for further investigation and eventual reintegration with their families.”

    “Meanwhile, all individuals found culpable in this trafficking operation will be prosecuted in line with Kogi State’s Child Trafficking and Child Rights Protection Laws.”

    “The Kogi State Government reiterates its uncompromising stance against child trafficking, criminal infiltration, and any form of security threat.

    Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government,Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has commissioned the newly constructed Aiyemojuba Street in Onipetesi, marking a significant milestone in his 100 Working Days in Office.

    The road, equipped with modern solar-powered street lights, was officially opened by Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, MHR, Ikeja Federal Constituency, represented by APC Ikeja LGA Chairman, Alhaji Adekunle Dally-Adeokun.

    This project reflects the AKOD-led administration’s commitment to quality roads, improved community living, and sustainable development.

    The newly constructed Aiyemojuba Street comes fully equipped with modern solar-powered street lights, providing enhanced security, visibility, and improved night-time mobility for residents.

    These street lights were generously facilitated by Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, whose continuous support for infrastructural development in Ikeja remains commendable.

    Comrade AKOD in his speech reaffirmed that the commissioning of Aiyemojuba Street is a reflection of his administration’s commitment to the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA; prioritizing quality roads, improved community living, and sustainable development across all wards.

    He emphasized that this project is one of many interventions being delivered to transform Ikeja into a model local government in Nigeria.

    Investigator news reports that residents of Onipetesi expressed appreciation to both Chairman AKOD and Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for the timely completion of the project and the added value brought by the solar street lighting.

    Present at the commissioning were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore, the management and Staffs of Ikeja Local Government ably led by the HOA, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko, party leaders from across Ikeja, CDC Chairperson, Alhaja Folami, Onipetesi CDA leadsrs and members and a host of others.

    The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government Comrade Akeem Dauda(AKOD)on Monday 8, November 2025 celebrated his 100 days in office with impactful programs and showcasing youths development.

    Investigator news reports that the day’s activities began with Ikeja Local Government’s One Day Chairman, Miss Zainab Ismail, a winner of the 2025 Ikeja Spelling Bee Competition from St Peters Nursery and Primary school Alausa who commissioned a rehabilitated road and 12 renovated classrooms with modern facilities, marking a significant milestone in the AKOD-led administration’s 100 working days in office.

    Miss Zainab who began her activities from the Executive Chairman’s office in company with the One Day Vice Chairman Miss Kentura Irebor and the One Day leader of the house commissioned the newly rehabilitated Morenike Close, marking a significant infrastructural upgrade within the community.

     

    Thereafter she proceeded to her school where she was well received by her friends, classmates,teachers and management of St Peters Nursery and Primary school.

    Addressing the pupils,Miss Zainab stated that “hardwork and dedication pays”as it is the only key to success. She encouraged the pupils not to disturbed with the situation of the country but put their trust in God and always pray for their parents.

    While acknowledging the management, teachers especially her mentor(her teacher) who drilled her in ensuring that she comes out in flying colors,she thanked the Executive Chairman, Comrade Dauda for the opportunity giving to her.

    She further presided over the commissioning of 12 renovated blocks of classrooms, now furnished with modern desks, chairs, and enhanced learning materials with Bore Hole.,aligning with the administration’s goal of improving learning conditions for Ikeja pupils.

    Comrade Dauda in his address, encouraged the children to always respect their teachers,pay attention to their studies and emulate Miss Zainab,the winner of the 2025 Spelling Bee competition.

    He went ahead to announce that next year competition will go along with a brand new laptop aside the One Day Chairman and cash award.

    Investigator news gathered that the day also featured a highly successful free medical outreach for 200 senior citizens, which provided free tests, drugs, medical kits, and special cash support.

    Also free sugar test, blood pressure test, eye screening with reading glasses, dental check, drugs and lots more were put in place for people to benefit from them.

    Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with newsmen applauded and prayed for the chairman for recognizing the retires and elderly .

    Mr Ibechieozo said” I want to say a big thank you to the Executive Chairman Comrade Dauda for recognizing the retires and elderly in his line of program,I never knew I would be called upon and with this free medical check up giving to me today,it has given me the need to always check my health status ”

    Speaking with newsmen after the activities,AKOD stated that the day’s activities are a clear demonstration of his I.K.E.J.A Agenda; which is the master blueprint of his administration and a testament to resolve in delivering a better days promised during the campaign.

    AKOD expressed his words of gratitude to tax payers and the people of Ikeja Local Government for their unrelenting support he has been receiving from them.

    He also promised to do more by putting in place things that will make life easy for everyone”Under the health,we believed that our retires and our leaders need to be celebrated especially those who have served this country meritoriously by giving them free medical outreach and also support them with cash grant ”

    On the issue of the One Day Chairman,AKOD said,” I have always had this desire because I am a product of the indigent and from that background I believe that the only way to support this children is by celebrating them and we decided to award them after the spelling bee competition with their various positions and cash award ”

    Speaking further,the Council boss highlighted some of the achievements recorded by his administration which include 4 renovated roads, schools, back to school program,purchase of land for health center in Alawori in Ikeja and construction of a bridge.

    “If we can be able to do all this within our 100 days in office,by the grace of God and with the support of the people,we will be to able to achieve more within our 200 days in office and above”he said.

    Lending her voice,the Council Manager,Mrrs Juliana Taiwo Odubeko stated that the essence of the event was to celebrate the children in Ikeja local government as the chairman has done excellently well with the support from staff and management of Ikeja local government.

    ” Hon Dauda has done well within his first 3months as he has constructed 4 roads, renovation of schools and employment of security guards in all the facilities in Ikeja.”

    She went further to encourage the Children to always face their studies squarely so that they can excel in everything they do.

    The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Ikeja local government Alhaji Dally Adeokun; applauded the council chairman for putting a magnificent road infrastructure, while encouraging the children to always read their books, noting that the one day chairman celebration  symbolizes the administration’s dedication to raising confident, visionary young leaders

    The activities which will continue on Tuesday with more project commissioning and impactful engagements for the people of Ikeja and it will end with an empowerment program on Wednesday 10, November 2025 at the council secretariat.

    In attendance were the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Council Manager, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko, who led the management team; all six councillors led by the Leader of the House, Hon.     The Councilor representing Ailegun Ward in Ejigbo LCDA,Hon Ifatumise  Adedoyin Adefioye, has kicked off year 2025 edition of Ailegun Football Youth Tournament in style.

    The Tournament which commenced on Sunday 7, November 2025,was held at the back of Little land school,Pink Street,Ejigbo and would end on Sunday 14, November 2025.

    Hon Ifatumise Adefioye,accompanied by the Ward Chairman, Prince Babatunde Adefioye,political leaders and other notable personalities in Ailegun ward declared open the tournament and also performed the ceremonial kicked off the ball, to signal the formal commencement of the football competition.

    The football teams, participating in the fiesta, representing the communities in Ailegun ward were gallantly showcased at the ceremony

    The Councilor, while welcoming people into the venue expressed his delight to God for giving the grace to achieve the programme.She as well appreciated the crowd for being part of the tournament despite the rainfall, assuring that the tournament will be classy and entertaining event like no other one.

    Adefioye expressed overwhelming joy over the commencement of the Football Cup Fiesta and said it was in commemoration of her 100 days in office and realization of one of her campaign promises to the youths of the area.

    She added that the event will pave way not only for bonding and identifying winners at the end, but also give a chance to showcase the individual and collective talents of the participants and teaches us to work in harmony.

    “The football tournament is indeed a component of one of our programs as we promised to bring about notable youth development initiatives and empowerment through my effort and that of the Executive Chairman. It gives me great satisfaction that today, as your Councilor,we are walking the talk.

    “Apart from the peace, unity, togetherness and entertainment value of sporting activities such as football tournaments, we cannot overemphasize the place of Sports development in the empowerment of our teeming youths.

    Hon Adedoyin reiterated that, “the event will serve as another way to engage and empower the youths who are talented, motivated and committed to being good Ambassadors of our dear Local Government.”

    She further, applauded the Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA,Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT)for trying to accommodate the youths in everything he does, noting that the football tournament will go a long way in unifying the youths of the Ailegun Ward.

    “We want to unite the youths through sports because football attracts unity and togetherness. Also for the youths to know that the government is with them and he is carrying everyone along and we over here we are using this so as to mark our 100 days in office as well as that of the Executive Chairman.”

    Speaking with newsmen,a member of the Local Organizing Committee,Comrade Godwin Oyem Aka Olurun Oba commended the Councilor representing Ailegun ward,Hon Ifatumise Adefioye for giving the youths of Ailegun ward a voice, noting that the competition which is a means of catching them young in the area of sports will go a long way in unifying the youths of Ailegun Ward.

    ” The essence of the event is all about bringing the youths of Ailegun ward together so as to have a better future ahead.” he said

    Lending his voice, the Ward Chairman, Prince Babatunde Adefioye noted that the youth football tournament is a good idea and a fantastic beginning for the Councilor representing Ailegun ward.

    He said,”Hon Ifatumise Adedoyin has done well especially in her first 100 days in office as she has been able to bring the youths together through this football tournament and it will also expose the youths to the outside world ”

    Prince Babatunde went further to urge other councilors to emulate the Councilor representing Ailegun ward in coming up programs that will affect the youths positively.

    When newsmen spoke with Hon Ifatumise Adedoyin Adefioye,she opined that the 1st Place winner of the tournament would go home with a cash prize of Two Hundred Thousand (200,000)while the 2nd place and third place winners would be given One Hundred Thousand N100, 000) and Fifty Thousand Naira (50,000) respectively.

    The young and vibrant Councilor urge the participating to maintain peace and avoid any form of violence throughout the period of this competition.

    “We cannot achieve anything in an atmosphere of rancour, rather peace and tranquility is veritable for success to be accomplished.”

    “Let me again, admonish the players, against the use of enhancement drugs or any form of substance, geared towards enhancement of your performance throughout the period of the tournament. God has endowed us with natural stamina and skills and the match officials are out to identify these natural endowments, as major attributes for the talent hunt in this competition,”

    While commending the Local Organizing Committee headed by Mr Abdulramah for the impressive planning of the sporting event, Hon Ifatumise charged match officials to be fair, transparent and impartial in their judgements, even as he warned against favoritism and nepotism.

    The opening match was played between Adefioye FC and Sir Cosmas FC which was won by Sir Cosmos FC by 2 goals to 1(penalty) after a 1-1  draw.

    During the match,Sir Cosmas FC drew the first blood in the 8mins of the match through number 5 and Adefioye FC came back in the 27 mins with an equalizer through jersey number 55.

    Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has congratulated Hon. Ademola Bello and ten APC Councillorship Candidates on their emergence as winners in Mopamuro Local Government Area.

    In a congratulatory message,Fanwo praised Bello’s victory as a testament to his capacity and commitment to service, highlighting the APC’s strength and unity in Mopamuro.

    He called for renewed unity and hard work among party members to consolidate the APC’s dominance in the area.

    He urged stakeholders to come together and work collectively for the success of the party in the forthcoming local government elections.

    According to him, Mopamuro has continued to benefit significantly from the developmental strides of the Ododo Administration.

    He highlighted ongoing massive infrastructure expansion at the College of Education (Technical), Mopa; the remodeling of Government Day Secondary School, Takete-Ide; the Mopa Township Road Project; as well as youth and women empowerment programmes.     The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Isolo Local Branch, made a significant impact at the 2025 Annual State Congress in Badagry, showcasing their leadership and commitment to youth empowerment.

    The event, themed “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” brought together leaders from 57 local branches, Voluntary Youth Organizations (VYOs), and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) across Lagos State

    Isolo’s delegation,led by Coordinator Damilola Kushimo,contributed meaningfully to discussions, with Comrade Jennifer Esenwa leading the opening prayer.

    In his address,Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, MNSE,charged the local branches to draw inspiration from the state leadership by remaining relentless in implementing projects and initiatives that will be of utmost benefit to young people in their respective areas.

    He urged the coordinators to seek partnerships and think outside the box in generating funds for meaningful projects.

    Also,the Commissioner of Lagos State Scout Council, Alhaji Yemi Adebeshin, applauded the youth umbrella body and bestowed an award of ‘Outstanding Young Leader’ on Engr. Adigun.

    He further charged the youths to prioritize self-development and prepare themselves for future leadership opportunities.

    In appreciation, an award was also presented to the Boy Scouts Council, recognizing them as the Best Voluntary Youth Organization (VYO) of the Year.

    The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, ably represented by the Director of Youth, Mr. Julius Olukosi, commended the Engr. Adigun-led NYCN Lagos State Chapter for its sustained efforts toward youth empowerment, while reassuring delegates that the state government will continue to provide support for the youth umbrella body and young people at large.

    Investigator news reports that the congress provided an avenue for the state leadership to render its account of stewardship and present proposed programmes for the upcoming year before the teeming delegates.

    The event also featured an interactive and enlightening advocacy session on technology-facilitated gender-based and sexual violence.

    Hon Seyi Jakande, the Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, has been installed as Grand Patron of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye chapter on Saturday, December 6,2025.

    The installation took place during CAN’s 2025 Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Ilupeju.

    The star-studded ceremony, themed “The Rising Star” (Matthew 2:9), also featured the launch of CAN’s 2026 calendar.

    In his acceptance speech, Jakande pledged to serve as “a bridge and supporter for all,” promising to strengthen interdenominational collaboration for the common good.
