    NSCDC Destroys Five Illegal Refineries Distributing Adulterated Fuel In Nigeria

    Five refineries allegedly producing and distributing adulterated fuel across Nigeria’s states have been discovered and demolished.
    The illegal refineries were discovered, according to reports, in Delta State’s Delta South Local Government Area.

    In an operation led by the Commandant General’s Special Anti-Vandal Monitoring Unit (SAVMU), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) stormed and dislodged the reported refineries.

    According to reports, the security agency received information about the nefarious activities of vandals and oil thieves operating a large camp and acted quickly.

    During the operation, two (2) suspects were apprehended, while other collaborators escaped.

    According to an intelligence report made available to journalists on Monday, three individuals, one woman and two other men, own the illegal refineries.

    According to reports, the alleged owners have been apprehended and are currently in the custody of the NSCDC, where they are providing information to help with the investigation.

    Speaking about the operation, DCC Brah Umoru Samson, the Squad Commander, assured Nigerians that the SAVMU will not tolerate any act of economic sabotage, and warned all illegal operators to engage in legitimate business that does not violate the law or jeopardize the safety of the country’s Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

    When their operations are finished, DCC Samson assured that the perpetrators will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

    He emphasized that the Squad will conduct a comprehensive manhunt for those still on the loose.

    According to him, the illegal refineries and other equipment used in the illegal business have been destroyed, and an investigation into the other criminals involved in the crime will be carried out with due diligence in order to bring them to justice.

    Hajia Laure Mai Kunu, the elderly mother of Kano Central Senatorial candidate under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Abdussalam Abdulkarim AA Zaura, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen, according to reports.

    Hajia Mai Kunu was apprehended on Monday morning at her residence in the Rangaza ward of Zaura village in Kano State’s Ungogo Local Government Area (LGA).

    Engr Abdullahi Garba Ramat, chairman of the LGA, confirmed the incident on his official Facebook page. “Innalillahi wa inna’ilaihirraj’un, We just awoke to the sad news that unknown gunmen stormed Ungogo LGA early this morning and whisked AA ZAURA’s mother away to an unknown destination. Allah ka kubutar mana da Baba Laure.”
