To address the growing concern, the council boss convened a crucial stakeholders’ meeting involving security operatives, members of the Community Development Committee (CDC), Community Development Associations (CDAs), representatives from the six political wards in Ejigbo, and Private Sector Participation (PSP) waste operators at the Ejigbo Council Secretariat .

During the meeting, Aare Taiwo emphasized that illegal waste disposal would no longer be tolerated.

He also used the opportunity to engage PSP operators directly, giving them an open floor to explain the reasons behind the irregularities in waste collection across some communities.

The Private Sector Participation (PSP) waste operators, highlighted some of the challenges such as poor resident compliance, enumeration difficulties, and competition from unregistered cart pushers who often dump refuse in drainages and along roadsides, thereby worsening environmental conditions

Residents from different communities voiced frustrations about irregular waste collection,as many shared how this has left them with no option but to pile up refuse or rely on unsafe alternatives.

They called on the authorities to step in and ensure more reliable and timely waste collection.

The Regional Manager for Centre 1 of LAWMA, Mr. Akano Tunde, cited the Lagos State Environmental Management Law (amended 2017) reminded the stakeholders that only licensed PSP operators are authorized to handle waste, and residents are prohibited from patronizing illegal cart pushers and urged PSP operators to comply with its provisions.

Mr Akano went further to appeal for proper documentation of payments through receipt issuance and accurate record-keeping.

He also stressed that all PSP operators must have a designated office within their area of jurisdiction to improve accessibility, accountability, and service delivery.

Professor Jelili Atiku, the CDC Chairman, revealed that an agreement has been drafted by the Council to foster mutual accountability between communities and PSP operators.

He noted that as part of the arrangement, PSP operators are expected to submit a list of communities that are not compliant with waste management regulations, while communities, in turn, are to report back on whether the operators are fulfilling their responsibilities.

The Council boss,Aare Taiwo assured all stakeholders that the council would take decisive actions to improve waste management across Ejigbo and would not hesitate to enforce environmental laws against defaulters.

He urged residents to cooperate with approved PSP operators and desist from practices that endanger community cleanliness and safety.

Additionally, Aare Taiwo called for stronger synergy between security operatives and Community Development Associations to enhance intelligence gathering, deter crime, and ensure a safer environment.

The meeting ended with a collective agreement to strengthen collaboration for a cleaner, safer, and more livable Ejigbo.

Investigator news gathered that the event was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Mrs. Abimbola Nicholas Ike; Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Sobande Gabriel Oluwaseyi; the Council Manager, Mr. Olusegun Ajagunna; Director Environmental Services, Sanitarian Temitayo Salami; members of the CDC and CDA committees; security operatives within Ejigbo; and representatives from the six political wards of the LCDA

How Businesses Are Thriving Through The Expansion Of Mushin-Isolo Road Facilitated By Hon Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson (GAJ).

    By Amb. Abiodun Ajayi (Mandate)

What many once thought was impossible has now become a symbol of transformation, resilience, and visionary leadership.

The expansion of the Mushin-Isolo Road, long considered a dream by residents and business owners, has become a reality. Thanks to the determined efforts of Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson (GAJ), the former House of Representatives member representing Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II.

This project, which had lingered for decades due to different bottlenecks, has now given birth to renewed hope for commuters, traders, transporters, and small business owners who rely on that corridor for their daily livelihood.

Hon. GAJ, the architect of modern connectivity, envisioned a constituency where road infrastructure fuels economic development.

His foresight, grounded in practical action, led to the execution of this major road expansion. A development many describe as one of the most impactful projects in the constituency’s recent history.

The Mushin-Isolo Road, previously known for gridlocks, poor drainage, and damaged surfaces, has now become a smooth-flowing route that connects businesses to new customers, markets, and partners. Traffic time has been drastically reduced, logistics operations have improved, and the aesthetics of the area have also been enhanced, drawing new investors into the corridor.

According to a local trader who preferred to remain anonymous, “Out of the many projects by Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson, the Mushin-Isolo Road expansion is one of the best. It has breathed new life into our daily activities. Customers who once avoided this route now flock to our shops without hesitation.”

From retail stores and markets to logistics companies and service providers, the ripple effect of road expansion is evident. Businesses that once struggled due to accessibility issues now thrive. Commercial activity has surged, property values are rising, and the general outlook of the area is brighter.

GAJ is not just a politician; he is a man of purpose and action. His commitment to infrastructural development has set a high standard for service delivery. Beyond the Mushin-Isolo Road, his tenure was marked by numerous people-centered projects aimed at improving the quality of life for his constituents.

The expansion of this road is more than just a project; it is a statement of what is possible when visionary leadership meets community needs.

As Mushin-Isolo Road continues to attract business traffic and socio-economic growth, residents and stakeholders now believe more than ever in the power of effective representation. Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson has shown that with the right leadership, even the most complex challenges can be turned into success stories.

Indeed, the Mushin-Isolo corridor is now a thriving hub. A small Singapore in the making, where dreams are nurtured on solid ground and businesses grow through better roads.
