    South East Governors Condemns Killing Of Soldiers By Hoodlums ln Abia

    The Governors of the South East region Imo State and Chairman, South East has condemned in very strong terms the killing of soldiers who were on lawful duty in Aba, Abia State by hoodlums masquerading as members of the Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

    The soldiers were ambushed and then killed by the gang of criminals who claimed to be enforcing a sit at home order in the South East.

    Governor Uzodimma who addressed the media on Thursday on behalf of the South East Governors in Government House Owerri condemned the dastardly act which he said occured without provocation.

    Governor Uzodimma urged the security agencies to “go all out and ensure that those behind it are caught and brought to book.”

    He bemoaned what happened as “unfortunate, without any reason as innocent people doing their lawful duty were gunned down.”he said

    He noted that the unfortunate situation was a major setback on the peace process which the Governors of the South East have been pursuing vigorously by engaging the Federal government, security agencies and other critical stakeholders on how best to resolve the problem of insecurity in the South East.

    Governor Uzodimma regretted that the action will erroneously portray the people of South East in bad light “as if we don’t have sympathy for human lives or that the peace process being pursued is not appreciated.”

    The Governor seized the opportunity to condole with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Toured Lagbaja, the Nigeria Army and the families of the soldiers who lost their loved ones in the unfortunate incident.

    However, he reiterated the resolve of the leadership of the people of South East in general and the Governors in particular, not to leave any stone unturned to ensure that the needed peace to develop the region is achieved, while calling on the security agencies to do their job without hindrance and to ensure that those behind the dastardly act are fished out so as to serve as deterrent to others.

    On the activities of the perpetrators of the killing, the Governor who described them as criminals said they were propelled by the memory of the past that is still hunting them, noting that, “we should find courage and appreciate the fact that a lot of work had gone into the peace process.”

    He maintained that the South East region in general and Imo State in particular crave for peace and advised the people to come out and go about their businesses “without fear of any molestation by anybody.”

    He insisted that the governors are doing their best in the area of security to ensure that the lives and properties of its citizens are protected.

    Speaking on reason for the establishment of Blossom City Estate, Lolo(Mrs) Nneka Chimezie, a Real Estate Consultant and Chairman/CEO of Blossom City Estate, said that the vision is to industrialize the lgbo community and move the population,mass exodus of southeasterns to different parts of the nation and world back to lgbo land .

    According to her,” We realize that even though we go out to seek for greener pastures, we never understood the level of damage it is doing to us. I realized that this is the way the people moved in those days. You see people moving from place to place and settle in there, and another people would go and settle where they moved from. ”

    “Now that we are moving, leaving our home state,other people are going to take over soon, they are just waiting for us to leave home and forget home,but Blossom Estate along Enugu/Nsuka Road in Enugu State has wonderful features, well gated, good road network, excellent security,it will also give room for employment opportunities for our children and above all industrialized our state for the growth of the lgbo nation,so our plans is to make the whole southeast, help and make sure we develop and attract investment and business development in the region ” she stated.


    Lolo Chimezie went further to urge the marketers to always align themselves with blossom city estate as the organization has plans of bringing experts that will train and retrain them so that they can become gurus in real estate business.

    While congratulating Pastor Sam Anaku who won the excellence award for the month of March,she noted that with embodiment of dedication and innovation,the marketers can enrich themselves by ensuring that the set goal is achieved, stating that Pastor Sam has not only raised the bar but also inspired other marketers.


    Pastor Sam Anaku who is the champion for the month of March stated that the award came to him as a surprise and that the award will spur him to generate more better results.

    He said ” l am so happy,l was not expecting this because l only wanted to keen into the vision of blossom city estate, where the CEO dream is to Industrialize the South East region and the zeal for lgbos to come back home and develop their father’s land. For this singular award,as a pastor l will seek for more wisdom for diversification for extra movement which l know will generate more better results through studies and prayers.” he submitted.

    Pastor Sam urged all lgbos to make good use of this ample opportunity of Investing in blossom city estate,”no matter where you are , outside your home, there will be oppression and suppression which is inevitable and whatever happens to you, there will be no defense.     Speaking in the same vein,Chief Sunday Ossai,who was a special guest urges the lgbo to come back and develop their region, noting that the lgbos cannot be developing another man’s land while their region and land is lying fallow as there is no developmental project in the south east region.

    He thanked Lolo Chimezie for taking the giant stride in ensuring that the south east region is developed, stating that with blossom city estate, the Igbos can begin by moving some of their business to the east thereby forcing people to go to the east to build their industries and business empires.

    Highlight of the event was a presentation of cutting of the champion cake for the month of March and other incentives giving to the winner.

    The Late Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu will be buried on June 28 in his hometown Amuri, in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

    The burial arrangement released by the family on Saturday, which was jointly signed by Elder Sunday Okafor (Mr Ibu’s elder brother) and Mr Ibu’s immediate family stated that the burial ceremony would begin on Tuesday, June 25th with a high profiled novelty match, while on Wednesday, June 26, there would be session called Mr Ibu’s Night, which involves candlelight procession and live entertainment.

    The release went further to state that On June 27, a Christian Wake-Keep would be held at his compound in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West while the funeral service takes place on June 28.

    The five-day burial ceremony will be wrapped up on Sunday, 30th June with a Church Thanksgiving for family members, friends and well wishers.

    According to the family, the late Ibu made his home community, Enugu state, Nigeria and indeed Africa as a whole proud while alive.

    “The Okafor family in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA in Enugu State wishes to honour the loving memory of our hero and a legend John Ikechukwu Okafor who even in death has left a legacy of love, laughter and liveliness.”

    The late veteran,died at the age of 63 after a long protracted illness,the burial committee will be chaired by Hon. Monday Diamond Ani.

    Neighbourhood Security Watch Operatives Shoot Restaurant Owner In Enugu.

    The Neighborhood Security Watch Operatives attached to the Enugu State Government has allegedly shot and killed a well known restaurant owner, known as Oforma,also known as Ofor Onye Ofe Olugbu on Monday night.

    The popular restaurant owner was reportedly killed at the Ogrute roundabout in the lgboeze North local government area of the state.

    According to eyewitnesses, the security team had visited Oforma’s restaurant to arrest someone, but they encountered resistance. This led to altercation between the restaurant owner and the security operatives, resulting in Oforma being shot in the back by one of the security personnel.

    In the chaos that ensued, the security operatives fled the scene, leaving behind their vehicle which was subsequently set on fire by enraged youths. Oforma was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital Ogrute where he was pronounced dead in the early hours of Tuesday.

    A viral video captured the neighborhood watch group’s vehicle engulfed in flames, reflecting the heightened tension in the area as locals reacted to the incident.

    Reports indicate that the youths have initiated a search for the fleeing security personnel, while a group called Concerned Igboeze North Youths (CINY) expressed grief over the loss of Oforma and called for urgent investigations to apprehend the perpetrators.

    The Enugu Police Command had not issued a statement regarding the incident at the time of this report.

    In a bid to reposition the Igbo nation in Nigeria and in line with current trends, national and global realities, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide under the leadership of Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu, (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo), has called on the Igbo leaders to resolved insecurity in the Southeast which has now become a major hindrance to the development of the region.

    This was disclosed in a one day retreat organized by Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide with the theme “Ako bu lje” on Wednesday at the Old Governor’s lodge,Enugu State.

    The retreat, which was attended by distinguished Igbo sons and daughters both at home and in the Diaspora including the Governor of Enugu State; former Ministers, members of the academia, traditional rulers, captains of industries, religious leaders, youth leaders, women leaders, under the chairmanships of H.E Admiral Allison Madueke, GCON.

    In a communique issued at the end of Ohanaeze Ndigbo retreat,signed by its National Secretary, Okey Emuchay, and National Publicity Secretary, Alex Ogbonnia,the lgbo leaders went further to emphasized the imperative of collaboration between Ohanaeze leadership and Igbo Governors for the realization of Ala-Igbo Transformation Agenda, while urging the governors, security agencies and civil society organisations to redouble their efforts in the security sector.

    The Communique also harped on the capacity of Ndigbo for self-sufficiency in food production and urged the Igbo Governors to key into this vision and also ensure tight security in the region so as to earn confidence of intending investors.

    The Igbo leaders at the retreat resolved that Ndigbo have the enormous human and natural potentials to initiate a “made-to-fit” regional development agenda that aligns with the current global reality.

    “we observed that Ndigbo have not exploited the opportunistic media space to identify the power centres in the region and galvanizing them for collective action.”

    “The various specialized Ohanaeze Committees were therefore urged to swing into action to ensure the realization of the new Igbo agenda in sync with 21st Century socio-economic realities.”they stated.

    In the Communique the Igbo leaders formally adopted the President-General’s vision on restructuring of Ohanaeze and the establishment of specialized committees for the transformation of Igboland. The new Ohanaeze structure comprises seven global zones, namely, Europe, North America and Canada, South America and the Caribbean, Asia, the Pacific, and Africa; while the three zones at the national level include Western, Northern and Eastern zones.

    They also adopted the President-General’s blueprints on improving transportation in Igboland, implementation of the Orosanya Committee Report and preservation of the autonomy of Proda; maximization of the Enugu Visa Office, sports development, ending unwarranted hostility to the Igbo outside Igboland, to intensify its drive for the unconditional release of the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

    The Specialized committees include Education Trust Fund headed by Professor Chinedu Nebo; the Committee on Culture and Tradition is headed by His Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, CFR, Obi of Onitsha. The Chairman of the Committee on Youth Employment and Skill Acquisition is Sen. Dr. Chris Ngige; while the Committee on Business Leaders is chaired by Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa and the Committee on Agriculture is headed by Dr. Ngozi Olejeme.The Committee on the Diaspora is headed by Dr. Sam Obaji while the Committee on Reconciliation and Peace Building in Nigeria is headed by Dr. Dominic Nnaemeka Okechukwu. The mandates of these specialized committees are clearly spelt out in their terms of reference and were handed over to the various Committee chairmen.

    The disparities in the rulership position as to who is the aunthentic president of Ohaneze Ndigbo in Lagos state,Chief Solomon Aguene has debunk the report making rounds on the social media concerning him stepping aside as Ohaneze president Lagos, while Chief Sunday Ossai takes over, saying that he is still in charge of Ohaneze Ndigbo Socio Cultural Organisation Lagos.

    Chief Aguene stated this in a press conference held at the Ohaneze secretariat in Surulere,Lagos stating that the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Socio Cultural Organisation, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanyu visit to Lagos was to work with him as the most capable to govern Ndigbo in Lagos and also solicit for assistance from stakeholders, and highly respected persons in Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos so as to move the National forward.

    He went further to state that Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu did not come to address the issues around Ohaneze crisis in Lagos, as speculated in the media,rather the apex leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide was in Lagos to affirm him as the authentic President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos state, describing him as “Mr Capacity “, reiterates that Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is a wise man and won’t disobey court judgement.

    According to Chief Solomon Aguene,he pointed that Chief Iwuanyanyu stated that Chief Ossai was presented to him as the elected president of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos when he visited Lagos but has no capacity to govern the socio-cultural organization, stating that no one is above court judgements and he will present the matter before the ‘Ime Obi’ to resolve the issue.

    Chief Solomon revealed that the first 4years of his tenure didn’t really count as he was in and out of court due to injunctions, says since the judgement was passed, his tenure has properly commenced as president of Ohaneze Lagos to complete the unfinished tasks.

    “A court judgement was passed in May 2023 following some issues arising from disagreements surrounding my position as Ohaneze president in 2018 by some dysfunctional executives of Ohaneze Ndigbo, the defacto executives since 2018, had produced two different leaders to disorient and checkmate my activities while the case of leadership choice had been a tussle in court for 3years and 7months before judgement was passed affirming me Chief Aguene as the authentic president of Ohaneze Ndigbo in Lagos.”

    “According to court order, the parties will have to conduct elections in all Ndigbo communities to elect one president, meanwhile the office of the President of Ohaneze remains intact, he stated.

    Speaking on the requests of the opposing faction who demanded an outrageous amount of 40million naira as compensation otherwise step down, Solomon affirmed that he declined on their request.

    Addressing the disconcerting mannerisms of Ndi-Ezes in Lagos, Solomon disapprove of some disgraceful behaviour stemmed from disunity amongst them. Says the Ezes are divided into various groups who fights over very trivial matters.

    “Some Ezes in Lagos needs sensitization on what it means to assume the mantle of kingship, they need to possess quality attitude to command respect for themselves as some are disgrace to the title they are holding as they are always seen fighting for bag of rice and cow, until l came and things was restored by me as the ohaneze president ” he submitted.

    The press conference was attended by Stakeholders, Patrons, Executives, Women and Youth leaders of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos.

    It will be recalled that Chief Iwuanyanyu came to Lagos last week to meet with Leaders, traditional leaders of Ohaneze Ndigbo and lgbo speaking community on the way to move the organization in Lagos forward.
