On Tuesday, officers from the Nigerian Police Force’s Federal Capital Territory Command, working in collaboration with Destiny Hunters, rescued four victims from a kidnapping den and dislodged the bandits from their hideout in Dadu Hills, Abuja’s Kuje neighbourhood.
In a statement made available, the police confirmed this.
“Following the receipt of actionable intelligence about the movement of suspected bandits holding some persons hostage, the FCT police command, in a concerted effort with the Destiny Hunters, stormed Dadu hills via Chukwuku in Kuje Area Council of the territory, dislodged the bandits from their hideouts while destroying the hideout, and successfully rescued four victims,” the statement read in part.

The operation began at around 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, according to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh.
“We recorded the rescue of one Mustahudeen Vaa and Adamu Isa, both males, who were reportedly kidnapped between the 23rd and 25th of May 2022 at kiyi, and one Abdulsalam Uzugiz, who was kidnapped at Angwan Gade extension of Kuje Area Council of the Territory.”
“Unfortunately, when the criminal elements saw the team’s valiant progress, they engaged them in a gunfight, in which one of the Destiny Hunters paid the ultimate price.”
“However, due to the team’s superior firepower, the criminals retreated with varying degrees of gunshot injuries.”
The victims were also reunited with their families after receiving medical assistance, according to the police.
“Victims were taken to the hospital for medical examination and then reunited with their families,” says the report.
While expressing condolences to the deceased’s family, FCT Commissioner of Police Babaji Sunday reassured residents that the command was committed to ridding the territory of crime and criminality.

“Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and strengthen their partnership with the police as it relates to the rendition of prompt and actionable intelligence reporting any suspicious or abnormal occurrence through our emergency lines,” he said.
