    Tributes At Eighth-Day Fidau Prayer For Late Oba Agbabiaka.

    Tributes continued to pour in for the late Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka as his eighth-day Islamic ‘Fidau’ prayer was held on Wednesday in Lagos.

    The Fidau prayer, which was held at the palace of Late Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, had in attendance dignitaries, clerics and traditional rulers across lsolo and Lagos state.

    The monarch,died last week at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital Lagos after a brief illness.

    The Grand Chief Imam of Isolo kingdom, Alhaji Quzin Otabayomi Ajiyan led other Muslim leaders at the prayer.

    Sheikh Raheem Ali Ajagbe an lslamic lecturer, during his lecture, harped on the need for people to keep doing good while alive as they do not know when they’ll return to their maker, noting that the late Oba lived a fulfilled life as he was seen by everyone to be accommodating,one who can tolerate and ensure that you are safe.

    He enjoined all Muslim faithfuls to live an upright life, because no one knows when his creator would invite him/her.

    Speaking with The lnvestigator News, one of the late Osolo of lsolo’s children, Princess Kabirat Adenike Agbabiaka described the death of their father as a great loss, stating that the news of his death came to them as a great shock

    Princess Adenike said her father was a very tolerant and non-tribalistic person, one who tries to bring everyone together,adding that religion was a personal thing to him.

    “He was a very tolerant person. He was very supportive, especially when his children are concerned, and always very comforting,we are still in shock because he is loved by everyone. He does not discriminate,in short he was a hero”

    “For all he has achieved let the name of the Almighty Allah be praised,my prayers today is for God to grant him eternal rest and for we the children let him give us the fortitude to bear the loss because it is a great shock “she submitted.

    The Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area,Hon Mrs Ramotallai Olanrewaju Akinola Hassan stated that the late monarch was like a father,a revolutionary and an awesome man.

    Alhaja Hassan went further to describe the late Oba Agbabiaka as one who always cater for those in need especially those who come to him for assistance, while praying that his legacy would endure.

    The eloquent Chairperson opined that Almighty Allah would continue to grant him eternal rest, protect his children and family and above all, give the people of lsolo the wisdom and understanding in getting a new Oba that would surpass the good legacy,Oba Kabiru must have put in place.

     


    Meanwhile, the State Chairman All Progressive Congress,Hon Cornelius Ojelabi has said that the late Olubadan died when he was needed the most.

    Addressing journalists at the prayer venue,Hon Ojelabi said the death of the late Osolo of lsolo was a rude shock to him, adding that his exit was a great loss to the state and the party APC.

    “It is not how far or how long but within the reign of Oba Agbabiaka, he was committed to the development of his area and the state in general. He lived a noble life,he supported the party APC because he wants developmental projects to be attracted to his people. We will surely miss him, though he has contributed his own quota,it is now left for us to continue with the same legacy he left behind “he said

    The party leader went further to appeal to the people of lsolo to make the right choice in electing the new Oba,because it is with unity they can achieve this goal.

     


    In a vote of thanks, the brother to the late Oba and Vice Chairman lsolo Local council development area,Hon Prince Monsuru Alagba Agbabiaka thanked the dignitaries that came to commiserate with the family.

    The palace of the late Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka of lsolo Local Council Development Area on Monday continued to play host to sympathisers who were in the community to commiserate with Council Chairman of lsolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, immediate family of the late monarch, Osolo & Chiefs-in-council.

    Among the sympathisers was the Distinguished Senator representing Lagos West in the Red Chamber,Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who came to conveyed her sympathies to the royal family and government of Isolo LCDA over the demise of the late Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru Alani Adelaja Agbabiaka who joined his ancestors last Wednesday.

    Mama West as fondly called by her admirers was welcomed into Olasoju’s palatial office at the secretariat before being led to the palace where she was received by the royal family and leadership of Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria who had also visited the royal family to commiserate with them.

    The former deputy governor of Lagos State extolled the virtues of the departed monarch acknowledging his uncompromising quest for the development of Isolo and unity among the Aworis.

    Also present to commiserate with the council boss and the royal family was the Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor,Mr Tayo Ayinde who joined the growing list of dignitaries to pay his condolence to the family of the Late Isolo King, Oba Kabiru Alani Adelaja Agbabiaka, Adeola Olushi III.

    Ayinde was received by the chief mourner, the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, the immediate family of the late monarch, Osolo & Chiefs-in-council among others at the late monarch’s palace earlier in the day.

    Ayinde while expressing his sympathies, urged the family to take solace in Osolo’s remarkable legacies of selfless and progressive reign.

    It will be recalled that the late Osolo of lsolo,Oba Agbabiaka joined his ancestors on Wednesday, 10th April 2024 after a brief illness and was buried according to lslamic rite in his palace.

    The remains of Oba Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka was laid to rest at his palace amid tears from residents and family members on Wednesday.

    The paramount ruler of lsolo, His lmperial Majesty ,Late Oba Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka died at the early hours of yesterday morning,as dignitaries from all walks of life troop in to pay their last respect to the monarch.

    The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, described the passage of the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, as a great loss to the traditional institution and Lagos State as a whole, noting that the monarch is a first class traditional ruler who has left a legacy that the people of lsolo kingdom will continue to cherish.

    He said the late traditional ruler, during his lifetime, rendered selfless service to the people of Isolo and Lagos State.

    “The death of Oba Agbabiaka is a great loss to the people of Isolo, and he will be greatly missed. He made lots of positive impacts during his lifetime, contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of his community as a traditional ruler.

    “Oba Agbabiaka, as a first-class traditional ruler, left a lasting legacy that the people of Isolo Kingdom will continue to cherish. I pray that Almighty God be pleased with the soul of the late monarch and grant the royal family and the people of Isolo and Lagos State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”he submitted.

    The Governor urged the family, friends, and associates of the deceased, as well as the entire people of Isolo, whose interests the late monarch represented and worked tirelessly for during his lifetime, to work towards immortalising him.

    The Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Mr Bolaji Kayode Robert has described the late Osolo of lsolo death as a colossal loss to the entire kingdom of lsolo and Lagos state as a whole.

    He stated this when he came to commiserate with the family over the demise of the monarch, describing him as one who has consistently put the name of the state in the limelight for very good reasons as he promoted culture and traditions of the Yoruba race across the state and Nigeria at large.

    ” He was very strong two weeks ago when we met in one of the state function, but God knows the best,he will be greatly missed by the Lagos state government and the entire people of lsolo kingdom. My prayers is that God will give the family, people of lsolo the fortitude to bear the loss”he stated.

    In the same vein,the Chairman lsolo Local Council Development Area,Hon (Otunba)Adebayo Olasoju said that the death of the paramount ruler is a great loss to the people of lsolo and Lagos state in general, describing the monarch as a peaceful man who was a father to all.

    Hon Olasoju who was visibly in tears, stated that Late Agbabiaka would be fondly be missed for his generosity and philanthropy nature , noting that he was a father to everyone.

    ” I lack words to express my feelings and how the good people of lsolo is feeling right now because we have lost a father,a peaceful man,one who can tolerate anybody and very accommodative.”

    ” My prayers is that God will console all of us, including Lagos state as a whole for this great loss because we have lost a trailblazer.” he said.

    Lending his voice,the former Lawmaker who represented Oshodi/lsolo State Constituency ll in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu noted that the late monarch is a wonderful and peace loving king,who always wants the best for his people, describing him as an institution and authority who ruled by virtue of his immense experience, wisdom and understanding of Yoruba history, royalty and politics.

    “His death came to us as a great shock but you see God works in a miraculous way, today being the end of prayer and fasting for the Muslims,the late oba decided to pass away,this signifies that he is a good man”

    ” His administration has been the best,he is very supportive and can tolerate as he is seen as one that is not destabilized, the late oba supported me when l wanted to contest and he didn’t discriminate lf l am from his tribe or not, rather he gave me his support. My prayers is that God will give him an eternal rest and also provide the people of lsolo,a wonderful and good person like the former king.” he stated.

    The remains of the body of the top Yoruba monarch was brought to his palace in the early hours of Wednesday.His children received his remains at the palace, while traditional rites began thereafter.

    Amidst tears from traditional chiefs, government officials, members of the Lagos State Executive council,women, youths, friends and well wishers of the late Agbabiaka,the Paramount ruler of Isolo in Lagos State, Osolo of Isolo Land, Oba Kabiru was laid to rest in his palace after prayers were offered by the Chief lmam of lsolo.

    The monarch died at the early hours of Wednesday morning after a brief illness at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital,Ikeja,he died at the age of 64, three months to the celebration of his 20th coronation anniversary.

    The Paramount ruler of Isolo in Lagos State, Osolo of Isolo Land His Imperial Majesty, Oba Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka is dead.

    The investigator news gathered that he died at the early hours of this morning after a brief illness at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital,Ikeja.

    Oba Agbabiaka died at the age of 64, three months to the celebration of his 20th coronation anniversary.

    As at the time of filing this report,there has not been any official statement from the palace secretary or any members of his cabinet.

    The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) lsolo/Ejigbo Province in Lagos State has inaugurated a new body of executive members for caroline chapter.

    The event, which was largely attended by the Province chairman and its executive,members and friends of the province, was held at the Assemblies of God Church Nigeria llufumi Ejigbo Lagos.

    Speaking on the topic ‘Stronger Together’, Apostle Anselem George of Revival Army Ministry(Grace life Assembly) charged to be committed to the development of the Church despite challenges.

    Apostle Anselem went further to urge the new executives to work together so as to realise a uniform goal, stating that with unity they will be able to surmount any challenges, obstacles and tribulations.

    According to him,”following your inauguration today,l want to appeal to you to take Caroline chapter to another level,let unity remain your watchword, and for you to achieve the kingdom task given to you all today,lf you remain united you will go far with your accomplishments”

    “To you Mr chairman, learn to tolerate,be patient and always ask God Almighty to give you the grace to lead, remember that there are fathers you need to seek advice from and ensure that you all continue to be good ambassador of the church you represent ” he submitted.

    In his acceptance speech, Pastor Sunday Okon said he and his team would continue to build on the legacies of their fathers and focus more on outreach service.

    He went further to state that with the help of God’s grace,they will take the chapter to the next level and pray for more growth, noting that his goal is to move the kingdom of God, take the message of christ to the grassroots.

    Members of United lgbo Market leaders/Traders Association of Nigeria have congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 72nd birthday celebration yesterday, describing him as a quintessential leader.

    The President Hon. Chief C.F.C Obi in a congratulatory message on Friday in Lagos described Senator Tinubu as a developmental democrat and bridge builder.

    He went further to state that Tinubu as a developmental democrat, he has over the decades demonstrated uncommon commitment in nurturing and instituting a firm foundation for democracy in Nigeria, like he did when he was governor of Lagos State.

    In order to foster peace and unity among the lgbos,the leadership of the Apex Igbo Socio-Cultural Organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has tasked the lgbo leaders in Lagos to have peace and unity as their watchword, instead of having divers leadership and factions.


    Chief lwuanyanwu who was represented by the National Publicity Secretary Ohaneze Ndigbo,Hon Dr Chinedu Alex Ogbonna stated this in Lagos when he met with lgbo traditional leaders and Ohaneze Ndigbo in Lagos under the chairmanship of Eze Dr Chika Nwokedi of the Igbo speaking community.

    The Apex leader went further to state that the visit was requested by the Igbo leaders to identify with Ezendigbo in Lagos, and see how peace can be restored, while urging the lgbos to continue to live in peace by keeping the spirit high and showing worthiness in all aspects of conducts.


    He appeal to all lgbo leaders to shealth their sword and embrace peace as he officially declares Chief Sunday Ossai as the aunthentic president of Ohaneze Lagos state as elected by the people.Also,he noted that efforts are being made for the Ezendigbo of Ajao Estate, Eze Nwajiagu and Nnamdi Kalu to be release, as lgbo leaders are soliciting for their release.


    The Chairman Council of Ndieze lgbo speaking in Lagos state,Eze Dr Chika Nwokedi Okpoko 1 of Obodoukwu, Ezendigbo of Ijegun /Ijeododo, stated that the coming of the President General Chief Emmanuel lwuanyanwu’s visit to Lagos was to unite igbos in Lagos as they are no longer respected and united.


    Eze Nwokedi noted that the reason for the visit has been accomplished despite being represented by his National Publicity Secretary, Chief Ogbonna ,so as to address leaders of Ohaneze and lgbo speaking community to speak with one voice.

    He appealed to the Apex leader to use his good office to ensure that Eze Nwajiagu who has been in prison for 9months now over some misguided utterances during the last elections is released, stating that the lgbo leaders are not indigenes of Lagos state and are nott bound to receive monetary funds from Lagos government, stating that lgbo leaders only exist in Lagos because they are the mouth piece of their people hence should not bother about being state inclusive traditional leaders” he stated.

    Eze Jude Emeka Odumodu, Ezendigbo Isolo, Vice Chairman council of Ndieze Lagos state and Eze Chinedu Udozie,Ezendigbo Riverine area of Oriade community Lagos expressed willingness to work together with the Igbo leaders in Lagos so as to achieve a common goal thereby promoting peace and unity amongst the people.Eze Chukwuemeka Onuoha,Eze Ndigbo and Agunechemba 1 of Iba Land thanked the Apex leader Chief Iwuanyanwu for his timely intervention in ensuring that there is peace and harmony among the lgbos,he urge all lgbos to be resolute, while pledging their unalloyed support to the leadership of Chief Ossai and promising that the leaderould work together for the better of Ndigbo in Lagos state.


    Eze Ambassador Nicolas Emenike Njoku,Eze Ndigbo of Aigbaka Ejigbo who was the host to the event noted that the invitation of Dr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu was targeted at forestalling peace amongst the traditional rulers, lgbo leaders and lgbos in general.

    The United Nation Peace Ambassador went further to say that the purpose of the event was achieved following the peace and unity brought by the Apex leader.
    He said “as the public relations officer of the council of Ezes in Lagos l want to tell you categorically clear that peace has been restored in Lagos state and l want to affirm that we will work together with all the lgbo leaders to ensure that the togetherness and peace of Ndigbo in Lagos state is achieved.”he submitted.

    Eze Eziokwu bu Ndu urged all igbos to maintain peace,be able to tolerate one another embrace unity as it is the best medicine in every society,while thanking everyone for gracing the occasion.

    Earlier,the PG of Ohaneze worldwide Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu had met with the Chairman, council of Ndi Ezes in Lagos Eze Chika Nwokedi, the PG of Igbo speaking Community Lagos state,Chief Sunday Udeh and others to discuss the issues arising in the fold of the council and other factions, giving some words of advice, and telling the leaders to continue to promote peace and unity among each other.He was also presented with a picture frame of himself as a gift by Council of Ezes.

    Colour plays a very crucial role in our day to day activities and in our lives generally and in a bid to encourage the appreciation and diversity of colours, the e Management and Staff of Power and Glory international School, Ejigbo Lagos held it first Colour/Fruit day with the theme “Creative World of Colours”.


    The event which is the first of its kind is aimed at exposing learners to the utilitarian nature of colours; the aesthetics, the symbolic nature and the application of colour to our everyday life.
    Speaking at the event, the colour day committee chairperson,Mrs Adesanya explained that the event is designed to foster a genuine appreciation of the beauty and diversity that colours bring.


    According to her,colours are known to impart humans’ emotions, feelings, decisions, amongst other things and colours are capable of changing the moods, by bringing about reduction or increase in tension, activate excitement, passion, energy, enthusiasm, amongst other things.
    Adesanya went further to say,”Colours make the world beautiful.They define the atmosphere, they tell what an environment looks like or should look like, they promote differentiation, uniqueness, easy identification and also help in branding and designing.”she submitted.


    She advised everyone to embrace the diversity of colours and bask in the smiles they bring to our faces, noting that the children decided to add fruits so as to make it unique.
    Earlier the Proprietor of the school,Mr Ezekiel Onilude in his welcome address stated that the activities of the day were centred around the creativity behind colour choice, the hidden meanings of colour and the encrypted message that each colour carries and symbolises.


    Mr Ezekiel opined that,to some, colours have even deeper meanings than meet the eyes and to some colours could mean calmness, abundance, peace and spirituality while urging the parents and the children to use the event to know the importance of colours and fruits in their various life.


    The Colour/Fruit Day had children research and present information on the importance of colour,the origin and nutritional values of various fruits, from pawpaw, watermelon,mango, strawberry, orange, cherry among others.

     

    Highlight of the event were dance, singing, comedy, spoken words, picking of balls, and drinking competition by the children and parents.
